Police Incident Report for Aug. 1 to 7


The Harbor News publishes a Police Incident Report to inform residents of incidents, criminal activities, and police responses occurring in the towns of Clinton, Westbrook, and Old Saybrook. As those charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty, the report does not include names. It may be edited for space and content.

Clinton

Wednesday, Aug. 1

No arrests were made.

Thursday, Aug. 2

• A 27 year-old man of Killingworth Turnpike was arrested at 1:40 a.m. and charged with using a motor vehicle without permission and possession of greater than one-half ounce of cannabis.

• A 53 year-old woman and a 65 year-old woman of the same Glenwood Road residence were arrested at 10 p.m. Each party was charged with disorderly conduct under the Domestic Violence Act.

• The theft of a motor vehicle was investigated at 229 Killingworth Turnpike at 12:46 a.m.

Friday, Aug. 3

• A 52 year-old Essex man was arrested at 9:15 a.m. and charged with violation of probation.

• A 29 year-old woman of East Main Street was arrested at 4:58 p.m. and charged with larceny in the sixth degree.

• A 32 year-old New Haven woman was arrested at 7:45 p.m. and charged with larceny in the third degree, possession of a shoplifting device, interfering with an officer/resisting arrest, two counts of violation of probation, and two counts of failure to appear in the second degree following a shoplifting incident at Clinton Crossing Outlets.

• Sexual assault was investigated on the 100 block of East Main Street at 12:23 p.m.

• A burglary was investigated at 4 Coach Light Drive at 1:54 p.m.

• A shoplifting incident was investigated at 20 Killingworth Turnpike at 7:31 p.m.

Saturday, Aug. 4

No arrests were made.

Sunday, Aug. 5

• A 29 year-old Hartford man was arrested at 3:30 p.m. and charged with criminal attempt to commit larceny in the sixth degree.

• A burglary was investigated at 18 Knollwood Drive at 7:31 a.m.

• A shoplifting incident was investigated at 20 Killingworth Turnpike at 3 p.m. at the Nike store.

• Harassment was investigated at 4 Spencer Court at 10:18 p.m. A walk-in complainant reported harassment from an ex-boyfriend.

Monday, Aug. 6

No arrests were made.

• A domestic dispute was investigated on Carriage Drive at 9:59 a.m.

• A larceny was investigated at 489 West Shores Drive at 11:12 a.m.

• Criminal mischief was investigated at 52 River Road at 4:25 p.m. A complainant believed that her tires popped after she attempted to drive because they had been slashed. Police determined there was no sign of intentional damaged and that it appeared the tires had a defect. The complainant was advised to contact her dealership regarding warranty coverage for the tires.

• A shoplifting incident was investigated at 20 Killingworth Turnpike at 6:39 p.m.

Tuesday, Aug. 7

• A 42 year-old Hamden man was arrested at 2:50 p.m. and charged with larceny in the third degree, larceny in the sixth degree, interfering with an officer/resisting arrest, assault on a public safety officer, and strangulation in the second degree.

• A larceny was investigated at 53 Meadow Road at 8:05 a.m.

• Violation of a protective order was investigated on River Road at 12:22 p.m.

• A shoplifting incident was investigated at 20 Killingworth Turnpike at 2:07 p.m.

• A 70 year-old man attempting to end his life was reported at 3:18 p.m.

• Criminal mischief was investigated at 50 Airline Road at 4:38 p.m. Damage was done to a residence by the previous owner.

Westbrook

Wednesday, Aug. 1

No arrests were made.

Thursday, Aug. 2

• A juvenile was arrested at 6:10 p.m. and charged with disorderly conduct following a domestic dispute with an adult. No injuries were reported or observed in the incident.

• A 46 year-old Higganum man was arrested at 8:44 p.m. and charged with criminal mischief in the second degree and disorderly conduct.

• A 33 year-old East Haddam man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 8:25 p.m. for evading responsibility in the operation of a motor vehicle (fleeing the scene of an accident).

Friday, Aug. 3

• A 32 year-old Niantic man was arrested at 12:52 a.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, failure to renew registration, and failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway.

• A 54 year-old Prospect woman was arrested and charged with criminal mischief in the second degree, disorderly conduct, and assault in the third degree.

• A 35 year-old Wallingford man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 4:06 p.m. for evading responsibility (fleeing the scene of an accident), improper passing, and passing in a no-passing zone.

Saturday, Aug. 4

No arrests were made.

Sunday, Aug. 5

• A 41 year-old Old Saybrook man was arrested and charged with interfering with an emergency call.

Monday, Aug. 6

• A 56 year-old Glastonbury man was arrested at 4:49 p.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, and failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway following the report of an erratically operated gray Ford SUV. The accused agreed to and failed a standardized field sobriety test.

• A 54 year-old man of Trolley Road Extension was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and interfering with an emergency call under the Domestic Violence Act.

Tuesday, Aug. 7

• A 46 year-old woman of Spencer Plains Road was arrested at 9:32 a.m. and charged with disorderly conduct, assault in the third degree, and criminal mischief in the third degree following a domestic dispute between a daughter and her 75 year-old mother.

Old Saybrook

Wednesday, Aug. 1

• A 22 year-old woman of Ingham Hill Road was arrested at 12:11 a.m. charging her with possession of a controlled substance.

• A 34 year-old Windsor woman was arrested at 4:17 a.m. and charged with credit card theft, four counts of illegal use of a credit card, four counts of identity theft in the third degree, and four counts of larceny in the sixth degree on a warrant held by Old Saybrook police.

Thursday, Aug. 2

No arrests were made.

• A 22 year-old Moosup woman was issued a misdemeanor summons at 1:24 a.m. for operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension and traveling unreasonably fast following a motor vehicle stop on Boston Post Road at Boston Post Road Place.

Friday, Aug. 3

No arrests were made.

• A 33 year-old Essex woman was issued a misdemeanor summons at 9:07 p.m. for operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, and operating a motor vehicle without insurance following a motor vehicle stop on Boston Post Road at Main Street.

Saturday, Aug. 4

• A 24 year-old man of Fencove Court was arrested at 2:34 a.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, evading responsibility in the operation of a motor vehicle, and failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway following a motor vehicle stop on Fenwood Road at Fenwood Avenue.

Sunday, Aug. 5

• A 47 year-old man of Evans Lane was arrested at 8:45 p.m. and charged with breach of peace in the second degree. He was processed and released after posting a $2,500 surety bond.

• A 36 year-old woman of Anchorage Lane was issued a citation at 8:45 p.m. for allowing a dog to roam on South View Terrace.

Monday, Aug. 6

No arrests were made.

• A 21 year-old woman of Walnut Hill Road was issued a misdemeanor summons at 6:56 p.m. for operating a motor vehicle without insurance, misuse of marker plate, and operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension operating, and operating an unregistered motor vehicle stop on Boston Post Road at Lynde Street.

Tuesday, Aug. 7

No arrests were made.

• A 16 year-old was issued a citation at 10:02 p.m. for possession of an electronic nicotine delivery device by a minor on Main Street.

From Aug. 1 to 7, Old Saybrook police issued seven citations to motorists for operating an unregistered motor vehicle and two citations for operating a motor vehicle without a driver’s license. One citation was issued for each of the following: failure to obey an overhead control signal, traveling unreasonably fast, and making an improper left turn.
