Police Incident Report for July 25 to 31


The North Haven Courier publishes a Police Incident Report to inform residents of incidents, criminal activities, and police responses occurring in town. As those charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty, the report does not include names. It may be edited for space and content.

Wednesday, July 25

• A 31 year-old man of South Avenue was arrested at 12:33 a.m. and charged with disorderly conduct and violation of a protective order.

Thursday, July 26

• A 25 year-old woman of Bassett Road was arrested at 7:15 p.m. and charged with violation of probation and two counts of failure to appear in the second degree on an outstanding warrant.

• A 22 year-old Meriden woman was arrested at 8:05 p.m. and charged with two counts of failure to appear in the second degree on an outstanding warrant, evading responsibility in the operation of a motor vehicle (fleeing the scene of an accident), failure to grant right of way at a private road or driveway, and operating a motor vehicle without a driver’s license.

• A 34 year-old man of Eaton Street was arrested at 11 p.m. and charged with criminal mischief in the third degree, breach of peace in the second degree, and assault in the third degree.

• A 52 year-old Hamden man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 10:08 a.m. for operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension.

Friday, July 27

• A 30 year-old woman of Blakeslee Avenue was arrested at 9:30 a.m. and charged with engaging police in pursuit, reckless driving, evading responsibility in the operation of a motor vehicle (fleeing the scene of an accident), and violation of probation.

• A 39 year-old East Haven man was arrested at 12:29 p.m. and charged with violation of a protective order and failure to appear in the second degree on an outstanding order.

Saturday, July 28 to Sunday, July 29

No arrests were made.

Monday, July 30

• A 19 year-old man and a 22 year-old man, both of New Haven, were arrested at 10 a.m. Each party was charged with burglary in the third degree, criminal mischief in the second degree, larceny in the sixth degree, conspiracy to commit burglary, criminal mischief, and larceny. The 19 year-old was also charged with interfering with an officer.

• A 24 year-old New Haven woman was arrested at 9:30 p.m. and charged with engaging police in pursuit, larceny in the sixth degree, robbery in the third degree, interfering with an officer, and three counts of risk of injury to a minor.

Tuesday, July 31

No arrests were made.

From July 25 to 31, North Haven police issued three citations for failure to maintain a reasonable distance apart, two citations for failure to obey a control signal, and two citations for failure to obey state traffic commission road markings. Once citation was issued for each of the following: failure to carry registration or insurance card, unsafe passing, using a hand-held cell phone while driving, and traveling too fast for conditions.
