Police Incident Report for July 11 to 24


The North Haven Courier publishes a Police Incident Report to inform residents of incidents, criminal activities, and police responses occurring in town. As those charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty, the report does not include names. It may be edited for space and content.

Wednesday, July 11

• A 39 year-old man of Clintonville Road was arrested at 10:59 p.m. and charged with criminal mischief in the first degree, breach of peace in the second degree, and assault in the third degree.

• A 48 year-old Hamden woman was issued a misdemeanor summons at 4 p.m. for operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension, failure to drive right, and failure to maintain a reasonable distance apart.

Thursday, July 12

No arrests were made.

Friday, July 13

• A 43 year-old New Haven man was arrested at 10 a.m. and charged with larceny in the fourth degree and conspiracy to commit larceny in the fourth degree.

• A 43 year-old New Haven woman was arrested at 6:32 p.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension, and possession of a controlled substance.

• A 37 year-old man of Washington Avenue was arrested at 8:30 p.m. and charged with interfering with an officer/resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, public indecency, and threatening in the second degree.

Saturday, July 14

No arrests were made.

Sunday, July 15

• A 40 year-old Old Saybrook woman was arrested at 1:25 p.m. and charged with larceny in the sixth degree.

• A 32 year-old man of Barton Drive was issued a misdemeanor summons at 10:11 p.m. for evading responsibility in the operation of a motor vehicle and failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway.

Monday, July 16

No arrests were made.

Tuesday, June 17

• A 31 year-old man of South Avenue was arrested at 7 p.m. and charged with disorderly conduct and assault in the third degree on a person age 60 or older or who is pregnant or handicapped.

Wednesday, July 18

• A 31 year-old man of South Avenue was arrested at 6:30 a.m. on a warrant charging him with failure to appear in the first degree.

• A 33 year-old man of Thorpe Street was arrested at 7 a.m. and charged with two counts of violation of probation.

• A 31 year-old man of South Avenue was arrested at 3:08 p.m. and charged with violation of a protective order.

• A 42 year-old Waterbury man was arrested at 5 p.m. and charged with criminal impersonation, interfering with an officer/resisting arrest, and operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension.

Thursday, July 19

• A 60 year-old man of Manhattan, New York, was arrested at 10 a.m. and charged with larceny in the third degree, identity theft in the first degree, criminal impersonation, and forgery in the first degree.

Friday, July 20

• A 37 year-old man of Washington Avenue was arrested at 4:53 p.m. and charged with tampering with a witness, breach of peace in the second degree, criminal possession of a firearm, and threatening in the first degree.

Saturday, July 21 to Monday, July 23

No arrests were made.

Tuesday, June 24

• A 42 year-old man of Washington Avenue was arrested at 1:03 a.m. and charged with disorderly conduct.

• A 20 year-old New Haven woman was arrested at 12:30 p.m. and charged with breach of peace in the second degree.

From June 11 to 24, North Haven police issued five citations to motorists for traveling unreasonably fast, four citations for failure to obey state traffic commission road signs or markings, two citations for failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway, and two citations for failure to maintain a reasonable distance apart. One citation was issued for each of the following motor vehicle violations: operating a motor vehicle without a driver’s license, improper passing, failure to obey a control signal, failure to grant right of way, failure to carry proof of insurance, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, failure to renew registration, making an unsafe movement from a stopped or standing position, and using a hand-held cell phone while driving.
