Police Incident Report for May 23 to June 5


The North Haven Courier publishes a Police Incident Report to inform residents of incidents, criminal activities, and police responses occurring in town. As those charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty, the report does not include names. It may be edited for space and content.

Wednesday, May 23

No arrests were made.

• A 20 year-old man of Hartford Turnpike was issued a misdemeanor summons at 12:58 a.m. for operating a motor vehicle without insurance, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, operating a motor vehicle without a driver’s license, and operation of a motor vehicle causing unnecessary noise.

Thursday, May 24

• A 55 year-old Waterbury man was arrested at 10:25 a.m. on a warrant charging him with failure to appear in the first degree.

Friday, May 25

• A 33 year-old East Haven man was arrested at 8 a.m. and charged with criminal mischief in the second degree and breach of peace in the second degree.

Saturday, May 26

No arrests were made.

Sunday, May 27

• A 65 year-old Hamden man was arrested at 1:36 p.m. and charged with cruelty to animals.

• A 24 year-old woman of Bridgewater, Massachusetts was arrested at 2 p.m. and charged with larceny in the sixth degree.

Monday, May 28 to Wednesday, May 30

No arrests were made.

Thursday, May 31

• A 51 year-old man of Allendale Drive was arrested at 9:52 p.m. and charged with disorderly conduct.

• A 41 year-old Branford woman was arrested at 10:33 p.m. and charged with two counts of failure to appear in the second degree, operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension, and failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway.

Friday, June 1

• A 25 year-old man of Tenedine Drive was arrested at 1 p.m. and charged with carrying a dangerous weapon.

Saturday, June 2

No arrests were made.

Sunday, June 3

• A 53 year-old man of Short Hill Road was arrested at 8:18 p.m. and charged with disorderly conduct.

Monday, June 4

• A 20 year-old New Haven man was arrested at 12:15 p.m. and charged with breach of peace in the second degree and stalking in the third degree.

• An 18 year-old and a 19 year-old woman of differing New Haven residences were arrested at 4:16 p.m. Each party was charged with criminal mischief in the second degree, breach of peace in the second degree, assault in the third degree, and conspiracy to commit breach of peace.

• A 49 year-old New Haven man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 2:45 p.m. for operating a motor vehicle insurance, reckless driving, and operating an unregistered motor vehicle.

Tuesday, June 5

• A 60 year-old man of Monroe Street was arrested at 5:02 p.m. and charged with disorderly conduct.

From May 23 to June 5, North Haven police issued three citations for failure to maintain a reasonable distance apart, three citations for failure to wear a seat belt in the front seat, three citations for failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway, two citations to motorists for improper passing, two citations for traveling too fast for conditions, and two citations for operating a motor vehicle without a driver’s license. One citation was issued for each of the following: traveling unreasonably fast, using a hand-held cell phone while driving, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, failure to renew registration, failure to obey a control signal, failure to obey a stop sign, failure to grant right of way at a private road or driveway, and failure to drive upon the right.
