Police Incident Report for March 28 to April 10

Madison

Wednesday, March 28

• A 29 year-old Branford man was arrested at 5:38 p.m. and charged with criminal mischief in the second degree and criminal attempt to commit criminal mischief.

• A motor vehicle crash involving an animal was investigated on Durham Road at Dogwood Lane at 6:04 a.m.

Thursday, March 29

No arrests were made.

• A 59 year-old Windsor Locks man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 12:14 p.m. for operating a motor vehicle without insurance and failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway following a motor vehicle stop on Field Brook Road at Green Hill Road.

• A brush fire was reported on Island Avenue at Cambridge Drive at 8:11 a.m.

• A motor vehicle crash without injuries was investigated on Durham Road at Hunters Trail at 4 p.m.

• An animal nuisance was reported on Copse Road at Woodland Road at 4:47 p.m.

• An animal nuisance was reported at 26 Webster Point Road at 6:03 p.m.

• A brush fire involving criminal mischief on private property was investigated at 306 Bradley Corners Road at 11:42 p.m.

Friday, March 30

No arrests were made.

• Animal bites were reported at 485 Bartlett Drive at 12:22 p.m.

• A motor vehicle crash without injuries was investigated on front of 44 Grove Avenue at 12:39 p.m.

• A motor vehicle crash in which a driver evaded (fled) the scene was investigated in front of 1333 Boston Post Road at 4:44 p.m.

• A 46 year-old man of Bunker Hill Road was issued a citation at 8:23 a.m. for traveling too fast for conditions. He was operating a 2012 Chevrolet Colorado eastbound on Route 148 when he failed to negotiate a downhill right curve by sliding on ice and struck a utility pole near Emanuel Church Road. The driver was transported to Middlesex Hospital by a family member for treatment of possible injuries sustained in the crash.

• A 55 year-old Durham man was issued a citation at 9:26 a.m. for failure to drive upon the right. He was operating a 2008 Ford F350 Super Duty eastbound on Route 148 when he lost control of the vehicle in slippery conditions and overturned the vehicle near Birch Mill Road. No injuries were reported or observed.

Wednesday, April 4

• A 51 year-old Westbrook woman was arrested at 7:58 p.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs. She drove a Lincoln Town Car into someone’s backyard in Clinton and then entered the person’s home. The accused was unknown to the homeowner. The accused left in the Town Car. The vehicle was later located by troopers being operated by a man on Route 80 in Killingworth. Police learned that the male driver was a 71 year-old man who offered to drive the woman home due to the woman’s level of intoxication after she pulled into his driveway at 8:15 p.m. Police identified the female passenger as the woman who pulled into the backyard of the Clinton home earlier that evening. She refused the standardized field sobriety test before being taken into custody.
