Police Incident Report for April 5 to 11


The Guilford Courier publishes a Police Incident Report to inform residents of incidents, criminal activities, and police responses occurring in town. As those charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty, the report does not include names. It may be edited for space and content.

Thursday, April 5

No arrests were made.

• A complaint about fraud was investigated at 41 Guilford Court at 8:43 a.m.

Friday, April 6

• A 45 year-old man was arrested at 12:10 a.m. and charged with disorderly conduct, interfering with an emergency call, and assault in the third degree.

• A complaint about a peddler without a permit was investigated on the 1400 block of Long Hill Road at 5:52 p.m. The person of interest stated to the complainant that he worked for Comcast. He was last seen driving southbound on Long Hill Road. Police could not locate the vehicle.

Saturday, April 7

No arrests were made.

• A larceny was investigated to Walmart, 900 Boston Post Road, at 3:19 p.m.

Sunday, April 8

• A 51 year-old man of Beaver Head Road was arrested at 10:04 a.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, operating a motor vehicle without insurance, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, improper use of marker plate, traveling too fast for conditions, and failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway.

• Neighbor trouble was investigated on the 700 block on Country Road at 1:58 p.m. The female complainant has ongoing issues with the male neighbor and witnessed him throwing trash on her property.

• A complaint about roaming dogs (an ongoing issue) was investigated on Autumn Ridge Drive at 3:28 p.m.

• Possible illegal weapons discharge was investigated on Soundview Road at 7:57 p.m. The complaint came from a resident on Stonewall Lane. A second call about the same incident was made by a resident of Sperry Drive. Police checked the area could find no source.

Monday, April 9

No arrests were made.

• A larceny was investigated at 830 Boston Post Road at 10:58 a.m.

• Harassment was investigated on the 500 block of Leetes Island Road at 3:11 p.m.

• A breach of peace incident was investigated at 10 Boston Post Road at 5:08 p.m.

• A larceny was investigated at Walmart, 900 Boston Post Road, at 9:26 p.m.

Tuesday, April 10

No arrests were made.

• Harassment was investigated at Guilford High School, 605 New England Road, at 8:35 a.m.

• Threatening was investigated at 70 Stone Boat Road at 3:43 p.m.

• Harassment was investigated on the 500 block of Long Hill Road at 7:16 p.m. Police determined that the incident was an IRS scam and not harassment.

Wednesday, April 11

• A 47 year-old New Haven man was arrested at 2:30 a.m. and charged with engaging police in pursuit, larceny in the second degree, criminal trover in the first degree, interfering with an officer/resisting arrest, two counts of assault on a public safety officer, and use or possession of drug paraphernalia. He was also charged with failure to appear in the first degree on an outstanding warrant.

• A 56 year-old Hamden man was arrested at 5:22 p.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

• A larceny was investigated at 1919 Boston Post Road at 1:19 p.m.
