Police Incident Report for March 7 to 27

Madison

Wednesday, March 7

No arrests were made.

• A psychiatric emergency was reported at 374 Boston Post Road at 4:24 a.m.

• A burglar alarm was investigated at 1 Orchard Park Road at 7:02 a.m.

• Threatening was investigated on the 100 block of Copse Road at 4:53 p.m.

• A motor vehicle crash without injuries was investigated on Durham Road at Old Route 79 at 6 p.m.

• Due to do the heavy snow storm numerous wires-down conditions were reported on roads around town, including: Old Farms Road, Durham Road, Summer Hill Road, Green Hill Road, Beaver Pond Road, Rolling Meadow Road, Horse Pond Road, Duck Hole Road, Old Toll Road, Wildcat Road, River Road, and Johnson Lane.

• A motor vehicle crash without injuries was investigated on Green Hill Road at Deer Creek Drive at 7:38 p.m.

• Due to heavy storm conditions, transformer fires were reported in numerous locations around town on Horse Pond Road, Duck Hole Road, Signal Hill Road, Laurel Crest Road, Chestnut Hill Road, and Summer Hill Road.

Thursday, March 8

No arrests were made.

• Theft from a residence was investigated at 225 Summer Hill Road at 12:41 p.m.

• A structure fire was reported at 126 Deep Wood Drive at 1:28 p.m.

• A domestic dispute was investigated on Strawberry Hill Road at 6:02 p.m.

• A motor vehicle crash with injuries was investigated in front of 478 Green Hill Road at 6:34 p.m.

Friday, March 9

No arrests were made.

• A motor vehicle crash in which a driver fled the scene was investigated at 136 Samson Rock Drive at 8:52 a.m.

• A motor vehicle crash without injuries was investigated in front of 817 Boston Post Road at 11:38 a.m.

• A motor vehicle crash without injuries was investigated in front of 57 Green Hill Road at 12:55 p.m.

Saturday, March 10

No arrests were made.

• A dispute was investigated on Mungertown Road at Interstate 95 exit 60 southbound at 1:05 p.m.

• An appliance fire was reported at 303 Durham Road at 1:56 p.m.

• A motor vehicle crash of private property was investigated at 136 Samson Rock Drive at 2:54 p.m.

• A chimney fire was reported at 729 Summer Hill Road at 11:31 p.m.

Sunday, March 11

No arrests were made.

• A motor vehicle crash without injuries was investigated on Horse Pond Road at Skytop Drive at 9:27 a.m.

• A chimney fire was reported at 729 Summer Hill Road at 10:58 and again at 2:20 p.m.

• A complaint about stolen mail was investigated at 54 Heatherwood drive 3:19 p.m.

• A motor vehicle crash on private property was investigated at 136 Samson Rock Drive at 5:13 p.m.

• A theft of automobile accessories was investigated at 51 Boston Post Road at 8:56 a.m.

• A complaint about fraud was investigated at 59 Old Farms Road at 5:32 p.m.

• A theft of services was investigated at 734 Boston Post Road at 8:51 p.m.

• A domestic dispute involving a 911 hang-up call was investigated on the 300 block of County Road at 9:29 p.m.

Tuesday, March 13

No arrests were made.

• An animal nuisance was investigated on Boston Post Road at Maplewood Lane at 2:41 p.m.

• Minor juvenile complaints were investigated on Silo Hill Road at 6:21 p.m.

Wednesday, March 14

• A 47 year-old Groton man was arrested at 11:15 a.m. and charged with offering home repairs without a license.

• A motor vehicle crash without injuries was investigated on Old Toll Road at Hickory Lane at 11:43 a.m.

• An animal nuisance was reported at 600 Durham Road at 11:44 p.m.

• A theft was investigated at 5 Neck Road at 5:03 p.m.

• Criminal trespass was investigated at 9 Monroe Lane at 5:27 p.m.

• A theft of items from a motor vehicle was investigated at 44 Boston Post Road at 9:55 p.m.

Thursday, March 15

No arrests were made.

• A complaint about a computer crime was investigated at 27 Downing Way at 1:22 p.m.

• A motor vehicle crash without injuries was investigated in front of 211 Durham Road at 2:49 p.m.

• A structure fire was reported at 395 Boston Post Road at 7:43 p.m.

Friday, March 16

No arrests were made.

• A motor vehicle crash with injuries was investigated in front of 549 Durham Road at 12:59 a.m.

• An animals nuisance was investigated on the 300 block of Boston Post Road at 1:53 p.m. The offending animal was gone when police arrived.

• A motor vehicle crash without injuries was investigated on Durham Road at Woodland Road at 5:26 p.m.

• A domestic dispute was investigated on Yankee Peddler Path at 9:23 p.m.

Saturday, March 17

• A 47 year-old man of Park Lane was arrested at 2:12 a.m. and charged with disorderly conduct and interfering with an emergency 911 call.

• A domestic dispute was investigated on Park Lane at 1:45 a.m.

• Dozens of vehicle break-in reports where investigated from 6:49 a.m. until 5:21 p.m. The roads where vehicles were entered include the following: Hilltop Drive, Hampshire Road, River Edge Farms Road, Chittenden Field Lane, Sterling Park Drive, Twin Coves Road, Apple Way, Johnson Lane, Middle Beach Road, Harbor Avenue, Cohasset Drive, West Overshores Drive, Parker Avenue, Lee Way, Kelsey Place, Liberty Street, Strathmore Lane, Neck Road, Blakeman Road, and Signal Hill Road. Police reminded all residents to keep vehicles locked if not in garages and never leave valuables in vehicles.

Sunday, March 18

No arrests were made.

• A theft of a credit card was investigated at 633 Boston Post Road at 1:15 p.m.

• A motor vehicle crash without injuries was investigated in front of 1324 Boston Post Road at 1:30 p.m.

Monday, March 19

No arrests were made.

• Attempted and successful vehicle break-ins and vehicle thefts were investigated on River Edge Farms Road, Cherry Lane, and Webster Point Road between 7:16 a.m. and 12:56 p.m.

• Harassment was investigated on Deer Run Road at 6:25 p.m.

No arrests were made.

Wednesday, March 21

• A 27 year-old man of Green Hill Road was arrested at 3:27 p.m. and charged with operating a drug factory (this was a subsequent arrest on a prior conviction for this offense), possession of greater than one kilogram of cannabis, conspiracy to sell more than one kilogram of cannabis, and use or possession of drug paraphernalia.

• A 49 year-old man of Hammond, Maine was arrested at 3:30 p.m. and charged with sale of one kilogram or greater of cannabis, conspiracy to sell a controlled substance, and use or possession of drug paraphernalia.

• A theft of items from a motor vehicle was investigated at 28 Strathmore Lane at 3:20 p.m.

• An assault was investigated at 613 Boston Post Road at 5:03 p.m.

• A fight was investigated at 51 Boston Post Road at 5:25 p.m.

Thursday, March 22

No arrests were made.

• A motor vehicle crash without injuries was investigated on Summer Hill Road at Bridle Path Lane at 8:39 a.m.

• Neighbor trouble was investigated on Fawn Brook Circle at 9:16 a.m.

• A motor vehicle crash with injuries was investigated on Durham Road at Church Lane at 4:06 p.m.

Friday, March 23

• A 31 year-old Seymour woman was arrested at 6:20 a.m. and charged with larceny in the second degree.

• An animal nuisance resulting in an animal being placed in the shelter was investigated on Old Toll Road at Buck Hill Road at 2:49 p.m.

Saturday, March 24

No arrests were made.

• Neighbor trouble was investigated on the 200 block of Horse Pond Road at 2:01 p.m.

Sunday, March 25

No arrests were made.

• A theft of items from a motor vehicle was invest3igated at 33 Mendingwall Circle at 8:15 a.m.

Monday, March 26

No arrests were made.

• A complaint about fraud was investigated at 86 East Wharf Road at 8:41 a.m.

• An attempted theft was investigated at 30 Maplewood Lane. No time stamp was given.

• A shoplifting incident was investigated at 646 Boston Post Road at 2:33 p.m.

Tuesday, March 27

• A 38 year-old woman of Johnson Lane was arrested at 3 p.m. and charged with two counts of larceny in the sixth degree.

• A 36 year-old East Haven man was arrested at 5:15 p.m. and charged with possession of a narcotic, failure to keep a prescription drug in its original container, use or possession of drug paraphernalia, and failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway.

• Threatening was investigated on Dudley Lane at 5:18 a.m.

• An appliance fire was investigated at 8 Brantwood Drive at 6:39 a.m.

• A motor vehicle crash involving an animal was investigated in front of 195 Twin Bridge Road at 6:29 p.m.

Killingworth

Wednesday, March 7 to Thursday, March 8

No arrests were made.

Friday, March 9

No arrests were made.

• A 22 year-old Windsor woman was issued a citation at 3:10 p.m. for making an unsafe movement from a stopped or standing position. She was operating a 2013 Honda Fit across the intersection of Stevens Road at Route 81 and entered the right of way path of an oncoming 2009 Chevrolet Silverado K1500 operated by a 72 year-old man of Kenilworth Drive. No injuries were reported or observed.

Saturday, March 10 to Wednesday, March 14

No arrests were made.

• A burglary was investigated at 12 Lafata Lane at 8:24 p.m. The residence was forcibly entered through a rear door by two unknown suspects between 6 and 8 p.m. The incident was under investigation at press time.

Thursday, March 15 to Friday, March 16

No arrests were made.

Saturday, March 17

No arrests were made.

• A 65 year-old man of Stonehill Drive was issued a citation at 1:18 p.m. for failure to grant right of way at an intersection. He was operating a 2012 GMC Sierra K1500 when he attempted to cross the intersection of Burr Hill Road at Route 148 and collided with a 2001 Volkswagen operated by a 54 year-old man of Route 148. No injuries were reported or observed.

• A 16 year-old Haddam boy was issued a citation at 4:36 p.m. for failure to maintain the proper lane after he lost control of the 2008 Honda Accord he was operating eastbound on Chestnut Hill Road and struck a stone wall in the driveway of residence #145. The vehicle sustained moderate damage. No injuries were reported or observed.

Thursday, March 22

• A domestic dispute was investigated on Route 81 at 2:16 p.m.

Friday, March 23

No arrests were made.

Saturday, March 24

• A 30 year-old woman of Chittenden Road was arrested at 2:10 p.m. on a warrant charging her with larceny in the first degree. She was processed and released after posting a $10,000 surety bond and issued an April 5 court date.

Sunday, March 25

No arrests were made.

• A 28 year-old Clinton woman was issued a citation at 5:08 a.m. for failure to drive right after she lost control of the 2014 Nissan Murano she was operating southbound on Green Hill Road just north of Farm Brook Road and struck a guardrail located on the right side of the roadway. The vehicle came to final rest off the roadway of the northbound travel lane. She was transported to Yale New Haven Hospital for treatment of minor injuries sustained in the crash. The vehicle was towed from the scene by Atwoods.

Monday, March 26 to Tuesday, March 27
