Police Incident Report for March 22 to April 4


The Guilford Courier publishes a Police Incident Report to inform residents of incidents, criminal activities, and police responses occurring in town. As those charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty, the report does not include names. It may be edited for space and content.

Thursday, March 22

No arrests were made.

Friday, March 23

No arrests were made.

• An ongoing problem with a neighbor’s dog barking all day long (while outside) was investigated on the 400 block of North Madison Road at 8:26 p.m.

Saturday, March 24

• A 48 year-old man and a 36 year-old woman of differing residential addresses in Middle Island, New York—and a 33 year-old man of Shirley, New York—were arrested at 4:09 a.m. Each party was charged with two counts of burglary in the first degree, two counts of conspiracy to commit burglary in the first degree, possession of burglar’s tools, two counts of criminal mischief in the first degree, two counts of conspiracy to commit criminal mischief in the first degree, larceny in the first degree, conspiracy to commit larceny in the first degree, larceny in the fourth degree, and conspiracy to commit larceny in the fourth degree. The arrests were made following burglary reports at 934 and 864 Boston Post Road.

• A larceny was investigated at 52 Church Street at 10:26 a.m. The complainant recorded the license plate number of the accused.

Sunday, March 25

• A 55 year-old man of Woodside Road was arrested at 5:15 a.m. and charged with disorderly conduct. In the same incident, a 26 year-old woman of Whitinsville, Massachusetts was charged with the same.

Monday, March 26

• A 46 year-old homeless man of Guilford was arrested at 8:43 a.m. on a warrant charging him with failure to appear in the second degree.

• A complaint about identity fraud was investigated at 144 Little Meadow Road at 3:52 p.m.

• A larceny was investigated at 111 Goose Lane at 4:25 p.m.

• A domestic dispute was investigated at 220 Bluff View Drive at 9:33 p.m.

Tuesday, March 27

• A 33 year-old Hartford man was arrested at 10:30 a.m. and charged with burglary in the third degree, criminal mischief in the first degree, larceny in the first degree, and criminal trover in the second degree.

• A 33 year-old New Haven woman was arrested at 2:01 p.m. and charged with harassment in the second degree and threatening in the second degree.

• A domestic dispute was investigated at 35 Seaside Avenue was 7:04 p.m.

Wednesday, March 28

No arrests were made.

• A larceny was investigated at 301 Boston Post Road at 7:40 a.m.

Thursday, March 29

• A 29 year-old Branford man was arrested at 3 p.m. and charged with criminal mischief in the first degree and larceny in the fifth degree.

• A small deer was found dead on the roadway on Caleb Court at Podunk Road at 4:36 a.m. The carcass was moved into the woods for wildlife officers to pick up later.

• A complaint about identity fraud was investigated a 9 East Bearhouse Hill Road at 9:36 a.m.

• A domestic dispute (a heated verbal argument) between boyfriend and girlfriend was investigated on the 200 block of Shore Drive at 10:27 p.m.

Friday, March 30

No arrests were made.

• Criminal mischief was investigated at 144 Moose Hill Road at 12:30 p.m. Several mailboxes were damaged by a vehicle that headed toward Route 146.

Saturday, March 31

No arrests were made.

• Criminal mischief involving key marks on a vehicle was investigated at 16 Church Street at 12:45 p.m.

• A complaint about identity fraud was investigated at 311 Old Whitfield Street at 9:53 p.m.

• Criminal mischief was investigated at 399 Old Whitfield Street at 10:16 p.m. People in an undescribed vehicle egged the house of the complainant. The vehicle was last seen heading toward the town marina.

Sunday, April 1

No arrests were made.

• Criminal mischief was investigated on County Road at 6:14 p.m. A red truck caused damage to the grass of area properties. The truck was reported stuck in the marsh at the intersection of County Road and West Street.

• A domestic dispute was investigated on the 300 block of Old Whitfield Street at 10:21 p.m.

Monday, April 2

No arrests were made.

• A noise complaint was investigated on Whitfield Street at 1:08 a.m. A loud party was on the deck. The responsible parties were told to keep it down.

• A larceny of a motor vehicle was investigated at 98 Kenneth Circle at 12:01 p.m.

• A complaint about identity fraud was investigated at 37 Hopmeadow Circle at 2:07 p.m.

• Sudden death was reported on the 200 block of Granite Road at 4:04 p.m.

• A domestic dispute was investigated on Clear Lake Road at 5:23 p.m.

• Breach of peace was investigated on the 500 block of Route 80 at 11:44 p.m. Verbal only. The dispute was over a parking space.

Tuesday, April 3

No arrests were made.

Wednesday, April 4

• A 45 year-old East Haven man was arrested at 10 a.m. and charged with burglary in the third degree and larceny in the sixth degree.

• A domestic dispute was investigated on East Gate Road at 10:12 a.m.

• A larceny was investigated at 2945 Boston Post Road at 4:15 p.m.

• A domestic dispute was investigated on the 500 block of Maple Street Road at 8:35 p.m.
