Police Incident Report for March 21 to 27


The North Haven Courier publishes a Police Incident Report to inform residents of incidents, criminal activities, and police responses occurring in town. As those charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty, the report does not include names. It may be edited for space and content.

Wednesday, March 21

• A 20 year-old Cheshire man was arrested at 9:27 p.m. and charged with use or possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of less than four ounces but greater than one-half ounce of a cannabis-type substance.

• A 25 year-old man of unrecorded address was issued a misdemeanor summons at 12:16 a.m. for operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension and illegal obstruction of an emergency vehicle.

• A 38 year-old East Haven woman was issued a misdemeanor summons at 5:06 p.m. for evading responsibility in the operation of a motor vehicle (fleeing the scene of an accident).

Thursday, March 22

• A 47 year-old man of Old Kiln Road was arrested at 11:46 a.m. and charged with four counts of larceny in the sixth degree.

• A 35 year-old Wallingford man was arrested at 5:34 p.m. and charged with larceny in the sixth degree.

• A 66 year-old New Haven man was arrested at 6:30 p.m. and charged with violation of a protective order.

• A 49 year-old woman of Clintonville Road was issued a misdemeanor summons at 10:29 a.m. for operating a motor vehicle without insurance, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, and using a hand-held cell phone while driving.

Friday, March 23

• A 53 year-old Branford woman was arrested at 3 a.m. and charged with larceny in the first degree and 56 counts of forgery in the third degree.

Saturday, March 24

• A 48 year-old Wallingford man was arrested at 9:10 p.m. and charged with carrying a pistol without a permit and breach of peace in the second degree.

Sunday, March 25

• A 47 year-old man of Buell Street was arrested at 3 a.m. and charged with disorderly conduct and assault in the third degree.

Monday, March 26

• A 43 year-old woman of Kings Highway was arrested at 3:38 p.m. and charged with failure to comply with fingerprinting requirements, interfering with an officer/resisting arrest, violation of a protective order, and two counts of criminal mischief in the third degree.

• A 32 year-old Branford woman was issued a misdemeanor summons at 7:30 p.m. for operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension, evading responsibility in the operation of a motor vehicle (fleeing the scene of an accident), and failure to drive a reasonable distance apart.

Tuesday, March 27

No arrests were made.

From March 21 to 27, North Haven police issued two citations to motorists for using a hand-held cell phone while driving, two citations for failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway, and two citations for failure to obey a stop sign. One citation was issued for each of the following: having improper rear marker lamps, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, failure to drive a reasonable distance apart, failure to carry a driver’s license, failure to renew registration, failure to drive on the right, traveling unreasonably fast, traveling too fast for conditions, and failure to obey state traffic commission road markings.
