Police Incident Report for March 14 to 20


The North Haven Courier publishes a Police Incident Report to inform residents of incidents, criminal activities, and police responses occurring in town. As those charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty, the report does not include names. It may be edited for space and content.

Wednesday, March 14

• An 18 year-old woman of Judd Drive was arrested at 1 p.m. and charged with assault in the third degree.

• A 38 year-old woman of Bronx, New York was arrested at 4:19 p.m. and charged with larceny in the fifth degree.

• A 31 year-old Naugatuck man was arrested at 5 p.m. and charged with reckless endangerment in the first degree, engaging police in pursuit, reckless driving, sale of a narcotic, use or possession of greater than one-half ounce of a cannabis-type substance, and misuse of plate.

• A 19 year-old man of unrecorded address was issued a misdemeanor summons at 12:56 a.m. for theft of plates, operating a motor vehicle without insurance, failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway, and operating a motor vehicle without a license plate.

• A 25 year-old Middletown man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 4:14 p.m. for operating a motor vehicle without insurance and failure to register a commercial vehicle.

Thursday, March 15

• A 43 year-old West Haven man was arrested at 9:43 a.m. and charged with criminal trespass in the first degree.

Friday, March 16 to Saturday, March 17

No arrests were made.

Sunday, March 18

• A 29 year-old homeless man was arrested at 10:30 a.m. and charged with larceny in the fourth degree and forgery in the third degree.

• A 26 year-old woman of Frost Drive was issued a misdemeanor summons at 5:37 p.m. for operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension and having tinted glass without DMV approval.

Monday, March 19

• A 31 year-old East Haven man was arrested at 10:30 a.m. and charged with larceny in the fifth degree.

• A 40 year-old Branford man was arrested at 11 p.m. and charged with larceny in the fifth degree and failure to appear in the second degree on an outstanding warrant.

Tuesday, March 20

No arrests were made.

• A 57 year-old man of Fortune Drive was issued a citation at 6:22 p.m. for allowing a dog to roam.

From March 14 to 20, North Haven police issued five citations to motorists for traveling unreasonably fast, five citations for using a hand-held cell phone while driving, two citations for failure to obey a stop sign, two citations for traveling too fast for conditions, two citations for failure to renew registration, two citations for failure to maintain the proper lane of multiple lane highway, and two citations for operating an unregistered motor vehicle. One citation was issued for each of the following: improper use of light/hi-beams, failure to maintain a reasonable distance apart, failure to obey state traffic commission road markings, improper license classification for vehicle driven, failure to grant right of way, operating a motor vehicle without a driver’s license, and speeding.
