Police Incident Report for Feb. 28 to March 13


The North Haven Courier publishes a Police Incident Report to inform residents of incidents, criminal activities, and police responses occurring in town. As those charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty, the report does not include names. It may be edited for space and content.

Wednesday, Feb. 28

No arrests were made.

Thursday, March 1

• A 22 year-old New Haven man was arrested at 5:45 a.m. and charged with larceny in the sixth degree.

• A 24 year-old Hartford man was arrested at 5:21 p.m. and charged with breach of peace in the second degree, harassment in the second degree, and threatening in the second degree.

• A 22 year-old man of Sackett Point Road was issued a misdemeanor summons at 10:23 a.m. for operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension, operating a motor vehicle without insurance, failure to register a commercial vehicle, and misuse of plate.

Friday, March 2

• A 47 year-old man of Patten Road was arrested at 5:59 p.m. and charged with disorderly conduct. In the same incident, a 50 year-old Northford man was arrested and charged with the same offences.

Saturday, March 3 to Sunday, March 4

No arrests were made.

Monday, March 5

• A 33 year-old East Haven woman was arrested at 10:02 p.m. and charged with larceny in the sixth degree. While in custody she was also charged with failure to pay or plead a citation on an outstanding warrant.

Tuesday, March 6

No arrests were made.

Wednesday, March 7

• A 36 year-old Hamden man was arrested at 10:45 a.m. and charged with violation of probation.

• A 24 year-old man of Temple Street was arrested at 1:09 p.m. and charged with violation of probation.

• A 52 year-old man of Sackett Point Road was arrested at 9:20 p.m. and charged with disorderly conduct.

Thursday, March 8

No arrests were made.

Friday, March 9

• A 43 year-old Wallingford man was arrested 5:38 p.m. and charged with larceny in the sixth degree.

• A 30 year-old New Haven woman was arrested at 7:21 p.m. and charged with larceny in the fifth degree.

• A 27 year-old Bridgeport man was arrested at 11:30 p.m. and charged with risk of injury to a minor, engaging police in pursuit, operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, misuse of plate, and possession of greater than ½ ounce of a cannabis-type substance.

• A 30 year-old Meriden man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 8:46 a.m. for operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension, operating a motor vehicle without insurance, and operating an unregistered motor vehicle.

Saturday, March 10

• A 46 year-old man of Rock Road was arrested at 2:30 a.m. and charged with burglary in the third degree, interfering with an officer/resisting arrest, and violation of a protective order.

Sunday, March 11 to Monday, March 12

No arrests were made.

Tuesday, March 13

• A 33 year-old Wolcott man was arrested at 5:37 p.m. and charged with failure to keep a prescription narcotic in its original container, illegal possession of a narcotic, and use or possession of drug paraphernalia.

From Feb. 28 to March 13, North Haven police issued nine citations to motorists for operating an unregistered motor vehicle, four citations for failure to obey a control signal, three citations for failure to maintain a reasonable distance apart, two citations for failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway, two citations for failure to obey a stop sign, and two citations for failure to register a commercial vehicle. One citation was issued for each of the following: failure to carry insurance card, misuse of plate, having an improper review mirror, failure to renew driver’s license, improper license classification for vehicle driver, traveling unreasonably fast, failure to renew registration, failure to grant right of way at an intersection, and failure to obey state traffic commission road signs or street markings.
