Police Incident Report for Feb. 15 to 28


The Guilford Courier publishes a Police Incident Report to inform residents of incidents, criminal activities, and police responses occurring in town. As those charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty, the report does not include names. It may be edited for space and content.

Thursday, Feb. 15

No arrests were made.

• A 44 year-old New Haven woman was issued a misdemeanor summons at 5:58 p.m. for operating a motor vehicle without a driver’s license and traveling unreasonably fast.

• Criminal mischief was investigated at 169 Northwood Drive at 4:13 p.m.

Friday, Feb. 16

• A 24 year-old Madison man was arrested at 7 p.m. and charged with illegal possession of weapons in a motor vehicle, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, operating a motor vehicle without insurance, traveling unreasonably fast, possession of greater than one-half ounce of a cannabis-type substance, and use or possession of a cannabis-type substance.

Saturday, Feb. 17

• A 21 year-old Middletown man was arrested at 4:07 a.m. and charged with criminal mischief in the third degree.

• A 32 year-old Branford man was arrested at 8:38 a.m. and charged with criminal mischief in the second degree and larceny in the sixth degree.

• A domestic dispute was investigated on the 2300 Boston Post Road at 4:16 a.m.

• A complaint about fraud was investigated at 255 Durham Road at 10:28 a.m.

• A domestic dispute was investigated at 47 Stone House Lane at 11:34 a.m.

• Criminal mischief was investigated at 399 Old Whitfield Street at 4:24 p.m. The house was egged the night before around 8:45 p.m. by unknown youths.

Sunday, Feb. 18

• A 27 year-old New Britain man was arrested at 6:28 p.m. at an Andy Lane residence and charged with disorderly conduct under the Domestic Violence Act, assault in the second degree, and five counts of violation of a protective order.

• Harassment was investigated on Sagamore Street at 4:02 p.m.

Monday, Feb. 19

• A 28 year-old Meriden woman was arrested at 4:41 p.m. and charged with violation of a protective order.

• Harassment was investigated below the 100 block of County Road at 10:31 a.m. A party previously posted from the property was trying to contact the complainant again via telephone.

Tuesday, Feb. 20

No arrests were made.

• Threatening was investigated on Soundview Road at 12:08 p.m.

• Criminal mischief was investigated at 519 Nut Plains Road at 3:49 p.m.

• Harassment was investigated on Sagamore Street at 8:57. The incident was ongoing harassment between ex-spouses.

Wednesday, Feb. 21

No arrests were made.

• A domestic dispute was investigated at an address that was redacted by police at 3:31 p.m.

• A larceny was investigated at 268 Boston Post Road at 4:10 p.m. The complainant stated that he was away from work for a week and noticed today that he had a few catalytic converters taken from his property.

Thursday, Feb. 22

No arrests were made.

• A vehicle was repossessed from the Walmart parking lot, 900 Boston Post Road, at 8:50 a.m. The vehicle was noted as a 2009 silver Toyota Camry sedan that had been left in the parking lot by the person to whom it was registered.

• Criminal mischief was investigated at 5000 Durham Road at 10:32 a.m.

• A larceny was investigated at 63 Whitfield Street at 1:12 p.m. A package was stolen.

• Harassment was investigated on the 200 block of Nut Plains Road at 4:46 p.m.

Friday, Feb. 23

No arrests were made.

• An unknown animal was reported trapped in a chimney at 695 Long Hill Road at 12:57 p.m.

• Harassment was investigated on the 200 block of Orcutt Drive at 9:04 p.m.

Saturday, Feb. 24

• A 24 year-old New Haven man was arrested at 3:07 a.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway following a motor vehicle stop on Boston Post Road at Long Hill Road.

• A 53 year-old New London woman was arrested at 6:16 p.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs (this was his third arrest on two prior convictions for this offense), and having an illegal weapon in a motor vehicle.

• Criminal mischief was investigated at 655 Little Meadow Road at 9:52 a.m. The driver’s side window was smashed. No entry to the vehicle was made.

• Criminal mischief was investigated at 26 Raymond Road at 1:18 p.m. A mailbox was damaged. Area youths were suspected.

• Harassment was investigated on Highwoods Drive at 5:22 p.m.

Sunday, Feb. 25

No arrests were made.

• Threatening was investigated on the 1100 block of Boston Post Road at 12:21 p.m. A threat was made over the telephone by a male voice that came from phone number 203-453-1141. The complainant was a female.

• Criminal mischief was investigated on County Road near West Street.

Monday, Feb. 26

• A 52 year-old man of Boston Post Road was arrested at 3:45 p.m. and charged with impersonation of a police officer, breach of peace in the second degree, and threatening in the first degree.

• A dumping violation was investigated on Beaver Head Road at 2:38 a.m. Items dumped included sofas, couches, and a plastic container of halogen light bulbs at a second location.

• A domestic dispute was investigated on Saw Pit Road at 9:22 p.m.

Tuesday, Feb. 27

No arrests were made.

• A complaint about fraud with a credit card was investigated at 27 Sunset Circle at 10:50 a.m.

Wednesday, Feb. 28

• A 33 year-old New Haven woman was arrested at 12:33 p.m. and charged with harassment in the second degree, threatening in the second degree, criminal trespass in the first degree, and breach of peace in the second degree.

• A 52 year-old Madison woman was arrested at 3:47 p.m. and charged with failure to keep a prescription narcotic in its original container, possession of greater than one-half ounce of a cannabis-type substance, and use or possession of drug paraphernalia containing less than one-half ounce of a cannabis-type substance.

• A larceny was investigated at 410 Peddlers Road at 1:26 a.m. Vehicles were entered.

• A domestic dispute occurred at an address that police redacted at 1:54 a.m.

• A burglary was investigated at 54 Windfall Lane at 7:12 a.m.

• A burglary attempt was investigated at 245 Peddlers Road at 7:27 a.m.

• A complaint about fraud with a credit card was investigated at 46 Richard Road at 7:44 a.m.

• A burglary was investigated at 41 Crabapple Lane at 11:03 a.m.

• Criminal trespass was investigated at 45 Boston Street at 12:12 a.m.

• A domestic dispute was investigated on the 200 block of Tanner Marsh Road at 8:12 p.m.
