Police Incident Report for Nov. 23 to Dec. 6


The Guilford Courier publishes a Police Incident Report to inform residents of incidents, criminal activities, and police responses occurring in town. As those charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty, the report does not include names. It may be edited for space and content.

Thursday, Nov. 23

• A 34 year-old man of Florence Road was arrested at 1:27 a.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway following a motor vehicle stop on the 100 block of Leetes Island Road.

• A 21 year-old man of Grist Hill Circle was arrested at 9:12 a.m. and charged with filing a false motor vehicle theft report, making a false statement, filing a false incident report in the second degree, and misuse of the emergency 911 system.

• Neighbor trouble was investigated on Three Mile Course at 7:36 a.m.

• Criminal mischief was investigated at 43 Park Street at 8:36 a.m. A caller reported that his daughter heard a dispute during the overnight hours. Police were not called at that time. The following morning, the complainant observed a damaged red truck in front of his residence.

• A welfare check was made at the commuter lot at Interstate I-95 exit 58 at 12:40 p.m. A man was laying in the grass next to a vehicle. Police learned the man was resting on the side of the road before continuing his drive from Massachusetts to New Jersey.

Friday, Nov. 24

No arrests were made.

• A complaint about fraud was investigated at 7 Hampton Court at 9:49 a.m.

• A complaint about fraud with a credit card was investigated at 147 North Street at 9:50 a.m.

• Criminal mischief was investigated on Broad Street at State Street. The words “The Bourgeois” was painted on a stop sign.

• Harassment by an ex-girlfriend was investigated on the 1400 block of Little Meadow Road at 3:10 p.m.

Saturday, Nov. 25

No arrests were made.

• A complaint about fraud was investigated at Walmart, 900 Boston Post Road, at 10:48 p.m.

Sunday, Nov. 26

No arrests were made.

• A larceny was investigated at 420 Nut Plains Road at 9:38 a.m.

• A larceny was investigated at 354 Old Whitfield Street at 1:02 p.m. A catalytic converter was stolen while the vehicle was parked at the Guilford train station.

Monday, Nov. 27

• A 42 year-old West Haven man was arrested at 1 p.m. and charged with larceny in the fourth degree and issuing bad check.

• An unwanted person was removed from a gas station at 490 Boston Post Road at 12:51 p.m.

• Collateral Recover Services conducted a vehicle/property repossession at 391 Soundview Road at 9:39 p.m.

Tuesday, Nov. 28

No arrests were made.

• A caller reported that a woman was screaming outside in her driveway on Taliar Ridge Road at 12:01 p.m. The woman was yelling about her dog being injured. There were no problems at the residence.

Wednesday, Nov. 29

No arrests were made.

• A 25 year-old man of Saw Mill Hill Road was issued a misdemeanor summons at 7 a.m. for two counts of evading responsibility in the operation of a motor vehicle (fleeing the scene of an accident) and two counts of failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway.

• A larceny was investigated at 120 Seaside Avenue at 8:26 a.m.

• A breach of peace incident was investigated on the 900 block of Boston Post Road at 1:05 p.m. A Dodge Ram pickup with New York license plates pulled out in front of the complainant. A road rage incident ensued. The complainant reported that male subjects with beards threatened, spit at, and threw a rock at the complainant’s head.

Thursday, Nov. 30

No arrests were made.

• A complaint about a white male teenager was investigated on Boston Post Road at South Union Street at 2:05 p.m. The complainant reported that the youth was riding a skateboard, the board went under the car while the youth was attempting to do a trick, and the youth swore at the complainant. Police checked the area and could not locate the youth.

• A larceny was investigated at 32 Summer Street at 3:24 p.m. The complainant reported that her registration and insurance papers/cards were stolen.

Friday, Dec. 1

No arrests were made.

• A sexual assault was investigated in town at 10:15 a.m. The location was withheld by police since the investigation was ongoing.

Saturday, Dec. 2

No arrests were made.

• A larceny was investigated at 1162 Moose Hill Road at 11:15 a.m.

• A complaint about fraud with a credit card was investigated at 50 Jamestown Drive at 11:58 a.m.

• A domestic dispute was investigated on the 1100 block of Moose Hill Road at 12:36 p.m. There was a dispute over a visitation agreement.

• A larceny was investigated at 201 Boston Street at 1:05 p.m. Four boys reportedly exited a light blue Forester and took a neighbor’s large pumpkin. The boys then drove off heading east on Boston Street.

Sunday, Dec. 3

No arrests were made.

• Criminal mischief was investigated at 222 Stone House Lane at 11:23 p.m. The house was egged during the overnight hours.

Monday, Dec. 4

• A 41 year-old Hamden woman was arrested at 9:45 a.m. and charged with illegal possession of narcotics and use or possession of drug paraphernalia.

• A 49 year-old man of Little Meadow Road was arrested at 9:45 a.m. and charged with larceny in the third degree, criminal mischief in the first degree, criminal trespass in the third degree, burglary in the third degree, possession of less than one-half ounce of marijuana, and use of possession of drug paraphernalia containing less than one-half ounce of marijuana.

• A larceny was investigated at 146 Tupelo Lane at 3:42 p.m. Two scooters were missing from the lawn.

• An anonymous report about a possible intoxicated driver was investigated at 830 Boston Post Road (Wave gas station) at 5:15 p.m. The suspect was tested for and passed a standardized field sobriety test. The driver had no impairments.

Tuesday, Dec. 5

No arrests were made.

• A complaint about a suspicious person was investigated at 351 Boston Street (Alderbrook Cemetery) at 3:07 p.m. An anonymous caller reported that a white male, 5’-11” tall, light colored hair, and wearing khaki shorts and a dark shirt was doing exercises at the rear of the cemetery near Calvin Leete school property. The subject reportedly had a white vehicle parked near him. When police checked there was nobody at the cemetery.

Wednesday, Dec. 6

No arrests were made.

• A larceny was investigated at 901 Boston Post Road at 1:18 p.m. A Christmas tree stand was stolen.
