Police Incident Report for Nov. 22 to 28


The North Haven Courier publishes a Police Incident Report to inform residents of incidents, criminal activities, and police responses occurring in town. As those charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty, the report does not include names. It may be edited for space and content.

Wednesday, Nov. 22

No arrests were made.

• At 12:47 p.m. police responded to an emergency at the intersection of Sackett Point Road and Universal Drive North. A railroad construction truck pulled down power lines and the occupants were trapped in the vehicle. Power was knocked out to the center of town and other areas. The Fire Department responded to effect rescue.

Thursday, Nov. 23

No arrests were made.

Friday, Nov. 24

• A 29 year-old man of Jacksonville, Florida was arrested at 11:30 a.m. and charged with breach of peace in the second degree and assault in the third degree.

• A 56 year-old New Haven woman was arrested at 11:30 a.m. and charged with larceny in the fifth degree.

• A 79 year-old New Haven man was arrested at 4:44 p.m. and charged with risk of injury to a minor and larceny in the sixth degree.

Saturday, Nov. 25

• A 36 year-old Wallingford woman was arrested at 2:41 p.m. and charged with assault on a peace officer, interfering with an officer, traveling unreasonably fast, failure to bring a motor vehicle to a full stop, and passing on the right.

Sunday, Nov. 26

No arrests were made.

• A 48 year-old man of Skiff Street was issued a citation at 8:23 a.m. for creating a public disturbance.

Monday, Nov. 27

• A 42 year-old West Haven man was arrested at 4:46 p.m. and charged with larceny in the fifth degree, larceny in the sixth degree, issuing a bad check, evading responsibility in the operation of a motor vehicle (fleeing the scene of an accident), operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension, failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway, and failure to appear in the second degree on an outstanding warrant.

Tuesday, Nov. 28

• A 22 year-old Guilford man was arrested at 10:18 a.m. and charged with illegal possession.

• A 27 year-old New Haven man was arrested at 10:30 a.m. and charged with larceny in the second degree.

• A 25 year-old West Haven man was arrested at 7:30 p.m. and charged with disorderly conduct and assault in the third degree.

From Nov. 22 to 28 North Haven police issued three citations for failure to maintain a reasonable distance apart. One citation was issued for each of the following: failure to obey a stop sign, failure to renew registration, traveling too fast for conditions, and failure to drive right.
