The Harbor News publishes a Police Incident Report to inform residents of incidents, criminal activities, and police responses occurring in the towns of Clinton, Westbrook, and Old Saybrook. As those charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty, the report does not include names. It may be edited for space and content.

Clinton

Wednesday, Nov. 15

No arrests were made.

• A complaint about animals was investigated on Killingworth Turnpike at 7:50 a.m. and Pratt Road at 4:34 p.m.

• A motor vehicle crash without injuries was investigated on Old Post Road at 5:44 p.m.

• Suspicious activity was investigated on Willow Lane at Cedar Road at 9:47 p.m.

• A noise complaint was investigated on West Main Street at 10:36 p.m.

Thursday, Nov. 16

• Two 16 year-old juveniles were arrested at 2:03 p.m. Each party was charged with larceny in the sixth degree following a shoplifting incident on Killingworth Turnpike.

• A 37 year-old man of Glenwood Road was arrested at 6:12 p.m. on a warrant charging him with assault in the second degree, criminal attempt to commit assault in the second degree, assault in the third degree, threatening, and risk of injury to a minor.

• A 49 year-old Middletown woman was arrested at 7:07 p.m. on a warrant charging her with negligent homicide with a vehicle, having weapons in a motor vehicle, distracted driving while committing a motor vehicle violation, and failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway. The arrest was made following a lengthy investigation into a fatal motor vehicle crash that occurred on May 4 on Route 81. The accused was operating a motor vehicle southbound on Route 81 when she struck another vehicle head on. The operator of the struck vehicle, Andrew Asermely, 60, of Killingworth, was killed as a result of the collision.

• A 19 year-old woman and a 20 year-old woman, both of New London, were arrested at 7:46 p.m. Each party was charged with larceny in the sixth degree and conspiracy to commit larceny in the sixth degree following a shoplifting incident on Killingworth Turnpike. The 20 year-old was also charged with risk of injury to a minor.

• A motor vehicle crash without injuries was investigated on East Main Street at 9:23 a.m.

• A larceny was investigated on East Main Street at 9:37 a.m.

• A motor vehicle crash without injuries was investigated on Wildwood Park Road at 5:23 p.m.

• A domestic dispute was investigated on Ninety Rod Road at 11:55 p.m.

Friday, Nov. 17

• A 36 year-old man of Cow Hill Road was arrested at 5:36 p.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs following a motor vehicle stop on East Main Street.

• A 63 year-old man of Sunnybrook Lane was arrested at 7:26 p.m. and charged with disorderly conduct under the Domestic Violence Act.

• A 30 year-old man of West Main Street was issued a misdemeanor summons at 8:38 a.m. for operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension and failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway following a motor vehicle stop on West Main Street.

• A domestic dispute was investigated on Airline Road at 1:37 p.m.

• A complaint about identity theft was investigated on East Main Street at 8:26 p.m.

Saturday, Nov. 18

No arrests were made.

• A larceny was investigated on Happy Acres Road at 2:58 p.m.

• Harassment was investigated on Old Mill Road at 3:13 p.m.

Sunday, Nov. 19

• A 38 year-old man of High Street was arrested at 10:39 p.m. and charged with in the third degree.

• A larceny was investigated on East Main Street at 4:58 a.m.

• A larceny was investigated on Princess Pine Lane at 10:37 a.m.

• Harassment was investigated on East Main Street at 12:27 p.m.

• A larceny was investigated on East Main Street at 1:09 p.m.

• A larceny was investigated on Mary Mac Loop at 1:33 p.m.

• An assault was investigated on East Main Street at 4:01 p.m.

Monday, Nov. 20

• A 33 year-old New London man was arrested at 2:04 p.m. and charged with larceny in the sixth degree, possession of a shoplifting device, possession of less than one-half ounce of marijuana, and use or possession of drug paraphernalia containing less than one-half ounce of marijuana.

Tuesday, Nov. 21

• A 28 year-old and a 39 year-old (both of unidentified gender) were arrested at 10:30 a.m. on warrants. Each party was charged with larceny in the fifth degree, credit card counterfeiting/forgery of signature, illegal use of a credit card, unlawful completion or reproduction of a credit card, and receiver of goods or services obtained through illegal use of a credit card.

• A 47 year-old man of Cow Hill Road was arrested at 4:04 p.m. and charged with assault in the third degree and breach of peace.

• A 67 year-old woman of Port Richey, Florida was arrested at 6:57 p.m. and charged with larceny in the sixth degree.

• A 31 year-old Cheshire man was arrested at 9:52 p.m. on a warrant charging him with disorderly conduct and criminal mischief in the third degree.

• A larceny was investigated on Nod Road at 12:47 p.m.

Wednesday, Nov. 22

• A 46 year-old Killingly woman was arrested at 6:46 a.m. on a warrant charging her with breach of peace in the second degree.

• A 46 year-old East Haven man was arrested at 3:43 p.m. and charged with larceny in the sixth degree, interfering with an officer (non-assaultive), possession of narcotics, possession of less than one-half ounce of marijuana, and use or possession of drug paraphernalia containing less than one-half ounce of marijuana following a shoplifting incident on East Main Street.

• A 21 year-old New Haven man was arrested at 5:36 p.m. and charged with breach of peace in the second degree, interfering with an officer, possession of less than one-half ounce of marijuana, and use or possession of drug paraphernalia containing less than one-half ounce of marijuana following a motor vehicle crash without injuries on West Main Street. In the same incident a 50 year-old man was charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

• Harassment was investigated on East Main Street at 5:03 p.m.

Thursday, Nov. 23

No arrests were made.

Friday, Nov. 24

• A 19 year-old North Branford man was arrested at 3:55 p.m. and charged with larceny in the sixth degree following a shoplifting incident on Killingworth Turnpike.

• A 55 year-old man of Martinsville, New Jersey was arrested at 9 p.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs following the investigation of a disturbance on Killingworth Turnpike.

Saturday, Nov. 25

No arrests were made.

• A complaint about identity theft was investigated on Ironworks Road at 9:33 a.m.

• A motor vehicle crash without injuries was investigated on Christina Court at 3:16 p.m.

• A motor vehicle crash without injuries was investigated on East Main Street at 4:29 p.m.

Sunday, Nov. 26

• A 26 year-old person of Ozone Park, New York was arrested at 11:57 a.m. and charged with illegal use of a credit card, criminal attempt to commit illegal use of a credit card, and four counts of forgery of symbols.

Monday, Nov. 27

• A 29 year-old man of Airline Road was arrested at 6:11 p.m. on a warrant charging him with assault in the third degree and disorderly conduct.

• Harassment was investigated on Old Nod Road at 11:35 a.m.

• A larceny was investigated on Commerce Street at 5:17 p.m.

• A burglary was investigated on Valley Road at 7:51 p.m.

Tuesday, Nov. 28

• A 23 year-old man of Nod Road was arrested at 7:33 p.m. on a warrant served on High Street charging him with two counts of failure to appear in the second degree. He was also charged with possession of a controlled substance and use or possession of drug paraphernalia.

• A motor vehicle crash without injuries was investigated on Hemlock Hill Road at 8:46 a.m.

• A motor vehicle crash without injuries was investigated on Post Office Square at 6:25 p.m.

Thursday, Nov. 16

• A 56 year-old New Britain man was arrested at 2:56 p.m. on a warrant charging him with threatening. He was processed and held in lieu of a $25,000 surety bond.

Friday, Nov. 17

• A 23 year-old man of Coventry, Rhode Island was arrested at 10:41 a.m. and charged with reckless driving and operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension.

Saturday, Nov. 18

• A 43 year-old Niantic man was arrested at 2:41 p.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway.

Sunday, Nov. 19

• A 24 year-old New Haven man was arrested at 1:21 a.m. on a warrant charging him with failure to pay or plead a citation.

• A 22 year-old Meriden man was arrested at 11:03 a.m. on a warrant charging him with failure to pay or plead a citation.

• A 37 year-old Durham man was arrested at 12:57 p.m. and charged with disorderly conduct.

• A 49 year-old man of Providence, Rhode Island was arrested at 8:55 p.m. and charged with reckless driving and passing on the right.

Tuesday, Nov. 21

• A 57 year-old New Canaan man was arrested at 12:38 a.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, drinking while operating a motor vehicle, failure to obey the signal of an officer, failure to maintain a reasonable distance apart, and speeding.

Wednesday, Nov. 22

• A 43 year-old Middletown man was arrested at 9:01 p.m. and charged with escape from custody in the first degree. He was processed in held in lieu of a $25,000 surety bond.

• A 53 year-old man of Seaside Avenue was arrested at 11:46 p.m. on a warrant charging him with harassment in the second degree and interfering with an officer (non-assaultive). He was uncooperative and resisted being taken into custody. He was also charged with intentional cruelty to persons, breach of peace, violation of conditions of released in the second degree, criminal trespass in the first degree, and criminal mischief in the second degree. He was processed on an $80,000 surety bond.

• A 26 year-old man of New York, New York was issued a misdemeanor summons at 12:06 a.m. for reckless driving, improper passing, passing on the right, and improper hand signals for turns or stopping.

Thursday, Nov. 23

• A 68 year-old Clinton woman was arrested at 9:29 p.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and failure to a maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway.

• A 35 year-old Danbury man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 2:58 a.m. for operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension and failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway following a motor crash. He was processed on a $1,000 non-surety bond.

Saturday, Nov. 25

• A 31 year-old woman of Evergreen Springs Road was arrested at 11:52 a.m. on a warrant charging her with failure to appear in the second degree. She was processed and held in lieu of a $4,500 surety bond.

• A 34 year-old Windsor Locks man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 6:35 p.m. for operating a motor vehicle without insurance.

Sunday, Nov. 26

• A 21 year-old man of Providence, Rhode Island was arrested at 12:48 a.m. and charged with reckless driving, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell. He was processed and held in lieu of a $100,000 surety bond.

• A 54 year-old Durham man was arrested at 2:34 p.m. and charged with disorderly conduct.

Monday, Nov. 27

• A 25 year-old New Haven man was arrested at 3:15 a.m. on a warrant charging him with violation of probation/conditional discharge. He was processed and held in lieu of a $25,000 surety bond.

• A 29 year-old man of Boston Post Road was issued a misdemeanor summons at 9:37 a.m. for operating a motor vehicle without insurance and operating an unregistered motor vehicle following a motor vehicle stop on Boston Post Road at Route 154.

Thursday, Nov. 16

• A 38 year-old Essex man was arrested at 5:58 a.m. on warrants charging him with larceny in the sixth degree and two counts of failure to appear in the second degree. He was processed and held on a combined $12,500 surety bond pending court arraignment on the same day of arrest.

• A 35 year-old Lyme man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 5:39 p.m. for operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension, operating a motor vehicle without insurance, and failure to maintain a reasonable distance apart following a motor vehicle stop on Boston Post Road at Route 154.

Friday, Nov. 17

• A 48 year-old man of Cedarwood Lane was arrested at 10:42 a.m. on a warrant charging him with failure to appear in the second degree. He was processed and released after posting a $2,500 surety bond and issued a Nov. 28 court date.

Saturday, Nov. 18

• A 26 year-old Moodus man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 9:16 a.m. for evading responsibility in the operation of a motor vehicle following a motor vehicle stop on Main Street.

Sunday, Nov. 19

• A 26 year-old man of Old Boston Post Road was arrested at 10:11 p.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, drinking while driving, failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway, and possession of less than one-half ounce of marijuana.

• A 20 year-old Madison woman was issued a misdemeanor summons at 12:24 p.m. for evading responsibility in the operation of a motor vehicle, possession of fireworks, and use or possession of drug paraphernalia.

• A 17 year-old was issued a citation at 11:45 a.m. for possession of tobacco in a public place on Boston Post Road.

• A 22 year-old man of Dudley Avenue was issued a citation at 8:23 p.m. for possession of less than one-half ounce of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia following a motor vehicle stop on Boston Post Road at Ledge Road.

Tuesday, Nov. 21

• A 43 year-old Westbrook man was arrested at 10:34 p.m. on a warrant held by Old Saybrook police charging him with breach of peace in the second degree.

• A 46 year-old Deep River man was arrested at 11:41 p.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, failure to have stop lamps, possession of less than one-half ounce of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Wednesday, Nov. 22

• A 25 year-old New Britain man was arrested at 4:04 p.m. and charged with criminal possession of a pistol, carrying a dangerous weapon, breach of peace in the second degree, and use or possession of drug paraphernalia.

• A 31 year-old New Britain man was arrested at 11:12 a.m. on a warrant charging him with failure to appear in the second degree.

Saturday, Nov. 25

• A 32 year-old Clinton man was arrested at 4:04 p.m. and charged with larceny in the sixth degree.

• A 41 year-old man of Cinnamon Ridge was arrested at 7:09 p.m. and charged with assault in the third degree on a person age 60 or older, disorderly conduct, and criminal mischief in the third degree under the Domestic Violence Act.

Sunday, Nov. 26

• A 28 year-old West Haven man was arrested at 7:02 p.m. on a warrant charging him with failure to appear in the second degree. He was also charged with reckless driving, evading responsibility in the operation of a motor vehicle (fleeing the scene of an accident), and operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension.

• A 61 year-old Clinton man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 12:49 a.m. for driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, operating a motor vehicle without insurance, and failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway.

• A 31 year-old man of unrecorded address was issued a misdemeanor summons at 12:42 a.m. for speeding and disobeying the signal of an officer.

• A 55 year-old Old Lyme woman was issued a misdemeanor summons at 7:44 p.m. for evading responsibility in the operation of a motor vehicle (fleeing the scene of an accident) following a motor vehicle crash on Boston Post Road.

Monday, Nov. 27 to Tuesday, Nov. 28

No arrests were made.

From Nov. 15 to 28 Old Saybrook police issued six citations to motorists for traveling unreasonably fast, six citations for operating an unregistered motor, five citations for failure to wear a seat belt in the front seat, two citations for failure to obey a stop sign, one citation for operating a motor vehicle without a driver’s license, one citation for failure to grant right of way, one citation for traveling too fast for conditions, one citation for failure to renew registration, and one citation for speeding, and one citation for using a hand-held cell phone while driving.
