Police Incident Report for Nov. 1 to 14


The Harbor News publishes a Police Incident Report to inform residents of incidents, criminal activities, and police responses occurring in the towns of Clinton, Westbrook, and Old Saybrook. As those charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty, the report does not include names. It may be edited for space and content.

Clinton

Wednesday, Nov. 1

No arrests were made.

• Harassment was investigated on East Main Street at 3:07 p.m.

• Harassment was investigated on East Main Street at Beach Park Road at 8:20 p.m.

Thursday, Nov. 2

• A 22 year-old man and a 28 year-old man, both of Brooklyn, New York, and a 30 year-old woman of Elmhurst, New York were arrested at 2:40 p.m. Each party was charged with organized retail theft, conspiracy to commit organized retail theft, larceny in the third degree, and possession of a shoplifting device. The woman was also charged with interfering with an officer (non-assaultive).

• A 40 year-old woman of Killingworth Turnpike was issued a misdemeanor summons at 8:35 a.m. for speeding in a school zone and operating a motor vehicle without a driver’s license following a motor vehicle stop on Killingworth Turnpike at Happy Acres Road.

• A noise complaint was investigated on Bright Hill Drive near Long Hill Road at 12:40 a.m.

• A neighbor dispute was investigated on Cedar Island Avenue at 11:24 a.m.

• A larceny was investigated on South Parkway at 2:12 p.m.

• The theft of a bicycle was investigated on Killingworth Turnpike at 4:45 p.m.

• A burglary was investigated on Kelsey Road at 11:46 p.m.

Friday, Nov. 3

• A 58 year-old Norwich man was arrested at 8:35 a.m. on a warrant charging him with larceny in the fifth degree and conspiracy to commit larceny in the fifth degree.

• The passing of bad checks was investigated on Cow Hill Road at 9:35 a.m.

• Criminal mischief was investigated on Iron Works Road at 4:24 p.m.

• Threatening was investigated on Killingworth Turnpike at 5:07 p.m.

• A larceny was investigated on Commerce Street at 7:24 p.m.

Saturday, Nov. 4

• A 53 year-old Greenwich man was arrested at 6:44 p.m. and charged with larceny in the sixth degree following a shoplifting incident on Killingworth Turnpike.

• A domestic dispute was investigated on East Main Street at 1:55 p.m.

• Criminal mischief was investigated on Pratt Road at 1:57 p.m.

Sunday, Nov. 5

No arrests were made.

• A larceny was investigated on Killingworth Turnpike at 3:04 p.m.

Monday, Nov. 6

• Two 39 year-olds of Ozone Park, New York and a 27 year-old of Flushing, New York were arrested at 3:39 p.m. Each party was charged with illegal use of a credit card, unlawful complete/reproduction of a credit card, receipt of goods or services by illegal use of a credit card, larceny in the third degree, and conspiracy to commit larceny in the third degree following a shoplifting investigation on Killingworth Turnpike.

• An 18 year-old Killingworth man was arrested at 10:30 p.m. and charged with assault in the third degree and breach of peace in the second degree. In the same incident a two 15 year-olds, a 17 year-old, and a 14 year-old were charged with the same following in investigation into a disturbance on West Main Street.

• A larceny was investigated on East Main Street at 7:17 p.m.

Tuesday, Nov. 7

• A 31 year-old man of Quito, Ecuador was arrested at 7:23 p.m. and charged with larceny in the sixth degree following a shoplifting incident on Killingworth Turnpike.

• A 31 year-old Bloomfield man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 2:06 p.m. for improper use of registration plates, failure to carry certificate of registration or insurance, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, and failure to carry a driver’s license.

Wednesday, Nov. 8

• A 47 year-old Salem man was arrested at 1:17 a.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs following a motor vehicle stop on Hull Street.

• A 15 year-old was arrested at 9:24 p.m. and charged with disorderly conduct, assault in the third degree, and risk of injury to a minor following a domestic dispute.

• A larceny was investigated on Killingworth Turnpike at 4:36 p.m.

• An animal bite was reported on Glenwood Road at 5:32 p.m.

Thursday, Nov. 9

No arrests were made.

• Threatening was investigated on Wildwood Park Road at 1:03 p.m.

• Harassment was investigated on Wildwood Park Road at 6:47 p.m.

Friday, Nov. 10

• A 48 year-old New Haven man was arrested at 4:58 p.m. and charged with assault of a public safety officer, possession of marijuana, three counts of illegal manufacture or distribution of drugs, operating a motor vehicle without a license, and disobeying the signal of an officer following a motor vehicle crash without injuries on East Main Street. In the same incident a 59 year-old man of East Main street and a 60 year-old man of Old Mill Road were charged with possession of narcotics.

• A suicide attempt was investigated on East Main Street at 8:23 p.m.

• A burglary was investigated on Airline Road at 10:47 p.m.

Saturday, Nov. 11

No arrests were made.

• Harassment was investigated on Sterling Drive at 4:06 p.m.

Sunday, Nov. 12

• A 33 year-old man of Kelseytown Road was arrested at 3:27 p.m. and charged with disorderly conduct, carrying a pistol or revolver without a permit, carrying or sale of dangerous weapons, theft of a firearm, and larceny in the sixth degree following a domestic violence incident.

• The theft of an automobile was investigated on Delwood Avenue at 7:08 p.m.

• A domestic dispute was investigated on Glenwood Road at 8:41 p.m.

Monday, Nov. 13

No arrests were made.

• A shoplifting incident was investigated on Killingworth Turnpike at 5:48 p.m.

• A larceny was investigated on Delwood Avenue at 9:11 p.m.

Tuesday, Nov. 14

No arrests were made.

• A larceny was investigated on East Main Street at 2:18 p.m.

• A larceny was investigated on Delwood Avenue at 5:58 p.m.

Westbrook

Wednesday, Nov. 1

• A 28 year-old man of Old Clinton Road and a 24 year-old man of West Pond Meadow Road were arrested at 12:36 p.m. Each man was charged with burglary in the third degree, larceny in the sixth degree, and possession of narcotics. The arrests were made following the investigation into the burglary of a private residence at 43 Magna Lane. The 24 year-old was also charged with interfering with an officer.

• A fraud complaint was investigated at Westbrook Toyota at 3:28 p.m. A vehicle was purchased on Oct. 26 by a person who presented a fraudulent out-of-state identification. The case was still under investigation at the time the press information was released by police.

Thursday, Nov. 2

No arrests were made.

Friday, Nov. 3

• A 26 year-old Norwich man was arrested at 12:21 a.m. and charged with violation of probation. He was processed and held on a $10,000 surety bond that he could not post pending court arraignment.

Saturday, Nov. 4

• A 26 year-old Killingworth woman was arrested at 4:39 p.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and failure to drive upon the right.

• A 49 year-old Madison man and a 48 year-old Branford man were arrested at 5:30 p.m. Each man was charged with breach of peace in the second degree.

Sunday, Nov. 5

No arrests were made.

Monday, Nov. 6

No arrests were made.

• A burglary of a boat was investigated at Pilot’s Point Marina North located on Boston Post Road. Sometime between Tuesday, Oct. 31 and Monday, Nov. 6 items were taken from a boat docked at the marina. Some of the items taken included an Artex GPS Globaltracker, a Nikon digital camera, and a single bar-style speaker. Anyone with information about this burglary is urged to call Trooper Gregory Hunter at 860-399-2100. All calls will be kept confidential.

Tuesday, Nov. 7

No arrests were made.

• A burglary was investigated at a Magna Lane residence at 2:22 p.m. Arrest warrants were processed for the damages two adult males made to a private residence during the course of a burglary/larceny they committed, damages that were not associated with the burglary during the initial police investigation of the crime scene. The warrants were for the damages alone and did not include any other charges from the previous arrest of the two men.

Wednesday, Nov. 8

No arrests were made.

Thursday, Nov. 9

• A 31 year-old Middlefield man was arrested at 11:32 p.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway following a motor vehicle crash.

• A larceny was investigated at 2045 Boston Post Road at 2:11 p.m. Between 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. an unknown person allegedly stole $800 from the private residence. Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact Trooper Gregory Hunter at 860-399-2100. All calls will be kept confidential.

Friday, Nov. 10

• A 39 year-old Groton man was arrested at 2:28 a.m. and charged with burglary in the third degree, manufacture or possession of burglar’s tools, criminal mischief in the second degree, and larceny in the fourth degree (theft for a building). He was processed on a $25,000 surety bond.

• A 60 year-old Rockville man was arrested at 6:29 p.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway.

Saturday, Nov. 11 to Sunday, Nov. 12

No arrests were made.

Monday, Nov. 13

• A 74 year-old woman of Old Kelsey Point was arrested at 1:23 a.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, failure to obey the signal of an officer, and failure to reduce speed or move over for an emergency vehicle. The accused was stopped after she failed to pull over for an active emergency vehicle. She agreed to and failed a standardized field sobriety test.

• A 40 year-old Durham man was arrested at 3:35 p.m. and charged with breach of peace. The accused caused inconvenience, annoyance, and alarm to both the staff and clients of an establishment.

Tuesday, Nov. 14

• A 20 year-old Branford man was arrested at 4:41 p.m. and charged with breach of peace in the second degree and criminal violation of a restraining order. He was processed on a $1,000 bond.

Old Saybrook

Wednesday, Nov. 8

• A 64 year-old man of Auburn, Washington was arrested at 6:30 a.m. and charged with risk of injury to a minor and sexual assault in the fourth degree on a warrant held by Old Saybrook Police. He was processed and held in lieu of a $25,000 surety bond.

Thursday, Nov. 9

No arrests were made.

Friday, Nov. 10

• A 21 year-old Higganum man was arrested at 8:24 a.m. and charged with larceny in the sixth degree and two counts of carrying a dangerous weapon. He was processed and held in lieu of a $75,000 surety bond and issued a Nov. 13 arraignment date.

Saturday, Nov. 11

No arrests were made.

Sunday, Nov. 12

• A 40 year-old Moodus woman was arrested at 4:05 p.m. and charged with larceny in the sixth degree.

Monday, Nov. 13

No arrests were made.

Tuesday, Nov. 14

• A 41 year-old man of Old Boston Post Road was arrested at 6:43 p.m. and charged with risk of injury to a minor, disorderly conduct, and assault in the third degree under the Domestic Violence Act. He was also charged with possession of less than one-half ounce of marijuana. He was processed and held in lieu of a $10,000 surety bond.

• A 52 year-old Guilford man was arrested at 7:27 p.m. and charged with drinking while driving, driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and disobeying the signal of an officer.

Wednesday, Nov. 1

• A 63 year-old man of Watch Hill was arrested at 9:28 a.m. and charged with having weapons in a motor vehicle, criminal possession of a firearm, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, operating a motor vehicle without a driver’s license, operating a motor vehicle without insurance, and engaging officers in pursuit. He was processed and held on a $50,000 surety bond he could not post.

• A 29 year-old man of Boston Post Road was arrested at 12:54 p.m. and charged with larceny in the sixth degree, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of over four ounces of marijuana, and possession with intent to sell. He was processed and held on a $50,000 surety bond he could not post.

• A 24 year-old Guilford man was arrested at 1:30 p.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, possession of less than one-half ounce of marijuana, and use or possession of drug paraphernalia containing less than one-half ounce of marijuana.

Thursday, Nov. 2

• A 55 year-old Cheshire man was arrested at 7:02 p.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and drinking while operating a motor vehicle following a motor vehicle stop on VFW Highway at Essex Road.

Friday, Nov. 3

• A 47 year-old woman of Hollywood, Florida was arrested at 4:37 a.m. and charged with disorderly conduct and assault in the third degree under the Domestic Violence Act. She was also charged with possession of less than one-half ounce of marijuana and use or possession of drug paraphernalia containing less than one-half ounce of marijuana. She was processed and held on a $2,000 surety bond be could not post. While he custody she also charged at 7:20 a.m. with being a fugitive justice, which was discovered during a background check. She was processed and held on an additional $25,000 surety bond.

• A 66 year-old man of Ledge Road was arrested at 12:36 p.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway, and unsafe backing at 238 Main Street.

• A 53 year-old man of Spencer Plains Road was arrested at 3:50 p.m. and charged with threatening in the first degree with a firearm and breach of peace in the second degree. He was processed and held on a $50,000 surety bond.

• A 26 year-old man of Neptune Drive was arrested at 11:27 p.m. and charged with assault in the third degree and breach of peace in the second degree.

Saturday, Nov. 4 to Monday, Nov. 6

No arrests were made.

Tuesday, Nov. 7

• A 34 year-old Old Lyme man was arrested at 3:32 p.m. and charged with possession of narcotics, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana, misuse of marker plate, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, operating a motor vehicle without insurance, operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension, and failure to obey a traffic signal. In the same incident a 22 year-old Niantic woman was arrested and charged with interfering with an officer, criminal impersonation, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
