Police Incident Report for Oct. 25 to 31


The Harbor News publishes a Police Incident Report to inform residents of incidents, criminal activities, and police responses occurring in the towns of Clinton, Westbrook, and Old Saybrook. As those charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty, the report does not include names. It may be edited for space and content.

Clinton

Wednesday, Oct. 25

• A 29 year-old man of Rocky Ledge Drive was arrested at 4:14 p.m. on a warrant charging him with breach of peace in the second degree.

• Criminal mischief was investigated on Ninety Rod Road at 6:45 a.m.

• A larceny was investigated on Park Drive at 11:08 a.m.

• A larceny was investigated on Davis Farm Road at 12:21 p.m.

• Harassment was investigated on Bargate Road at 12:34 p.m.

Thursday, Oct. 26

• A 53 year-old man of Long Hill Road was arrested at 10:23 a.m. on a warrant charging him with manufacturing a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance.

• A larceny was investigated on Maplewood Drive at 4:08 p.m.

• A larceny was investigated on West Main Street at 2:49 p.m.

Friday, Oct. 27

• A 53 year-old man of a Old Nob Road apartment was arrested at 2:24 a.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway, and possession of less than ½ ounce of marijuana following a motor vehicle stop on Egypt Lane at Killingworth Turnpike.

• A 39 year-old man of a College Street apartment was arrested at 7:04 a.m. on a warrant charging him with failure to appear in the second degree.

• A 23 year-old Bridgeport man was arrested at 2:24 p.m. and charged with larceny in the sixth degree following a shoplifting incident on Killingworth Turnpike.

• A 24 year-old Trumbull woman was arrested at 3:01 p.m. and charged with larceny in the sixth degree following a shoplifting incident on Killingworth Turnpike.

Saturday, Oct. 28

No arrests were made.

• Criminal mischief was investigated on Killingworth Turnpike at 4:52 p.m.

Sunday, Oct. 29

• A 54 year-old Norwich man was arrested at 12:38 p.m. on a warrant charging him with larceny in the fifth degree and conspiracy to commit larceny in the fifth degree.

Monday, Oct. 30

No arrests were made.

• A complaint about identity theft was investigated on Killingworth Turnpike at 9:08 p.m.

• A noise complaint was investigated on Iron Works Road at 9:15 p.m.

• A domestic dispute was investigated on Pearl Street at 10:52 p.m.

• Criminal mischief was investigated on Airline Road at 11:04 p.m.

Tuesday, Oct. 31

• A 46 year-old man of a Pearl Street apartment was arrested at 5:38 p.m. and charged with disorderly conduct under the domestic violence act. In the same incident a 50 year-old woman of the same residence was charged with disorderly conduct and criminal violation of a protective order.

• A complaint about identity theft was investigated on Killingworth Turnpike at 3:27 p.m.

• Shoplifting was investigated on Killingworth Turnpike at 5:54 p.m.

• A theft of a motor vehicle was investigated on John Street Ext. at 7:23 p.m.

• A noise complaint was investigated on Ironworks Road at 10:02 p.m.

Westbrook

Wednesday, Oct. 25

No arrests were made.

Thursday, Oct. 26

• A 36 year-old man of Plymouth, Massachusetts was arrested at 8:41 p.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway. Police stopped the 2001 grey Honda Accord he was operating after numerous 911 calls were made reporting erratic operation. Police made the vehicle stop and performed a standardized field sobriety test on the driver, which he failed.

• A 49 year-old Clinton man was issued a citation at 3:46 p.m. for failure to maintain a reasonable distance apart after the 2010 Chevrolet Express Cutaway he was operating eastbound on Spencer Plains Road struck the rear of a 1995 Dodge Ram 2500 operated by a 19 year-old man of Breakneck Hill Road.

Friday, Oct. 27

No arrests were made.

Saturday, Oct. 28

• A 37 year-old Old Lyme man was arrested at 1:12 p.m. and charged with violation of a protective order.

• A 35 year-old Bridgeport man was arrested at 9:43 p.m. and charged with larceny in the second degree, possession of narcotics, use or possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of marijuana. He was processed on a $25,000 surety bond.

Sunday, Oct. 29

• A 53 year-old Killingworth man was arrested at 5:22 a.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

• A 49 year-old man of Oak Drive was arrested at 9:41 a.m. on a warrant charged with failure to appear in the second degree.

• A 50 year-old West Haven man was arrested at 11:02 a.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, traveling unreasonably fast, and passing in a no-passing zone.

• A 41 year-old Middletown woman was arrested at 11:31 p.m. on a warrant charging her with larceny in the first degree, public assistance fraud, and making a false statement in the second degree on public assistance documents.

Monday, Oct. 30

No arrests were made.

• An ongoing harassment issue between two parties was investigated on Seaside Avenue at 10:23 a.m.

Tuesday, Oct. 31

No arrests were made.

Wednesday, Oct. 25 and Thursday, Oct. 26

Friday, Oct. 27

No arrests were made.

• A 53 year-old New Britain man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 1:01 a.m. for driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, traveling unreasonably fast, and failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway following a motor vehicle stop on Middlesex Turnpike at Old Springbrook Road.

Saturday, Oct. 28

• A 16 year-old was arrested at 8:16 p.m. and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia containing less than ½ ounce of marijuana. The juvenile was processed and released into parental custody.

• A 63 year-old Branford man was arrested at 10:13 p.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and traveling unreasonably fast following a motor vehicle stop on Main Street at Boston Post Road.

• A 22 year-old man of Mill Rock Road East was arrested at 11:46 p.m. and charged with breach of peace in the second degree and interfering with an officer. He was processed and held on a $5,000 surety bond he could not post.

• A 25 year-old Wallingford man was issued a citation at 11:17 a.m. for possession of less than ½ ounce of marijuana on Old Boston Post Road at Goodwin School.

Sunday, Oct. 29

No arrests were made.

• A 26 year-old New London man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 2:05 a.m. for operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension and operating a motor vehicle without following a motor vehicle stop on Spencer Plains Road at Boston Post Road.

• A 53 year-old woman of Briarcliffe Trail was issued a citation at 2:09 p.m. for allowing a dog to roam and allowing an animal nuisance.

Monday, Oct. 30

No arrested were made.

• A 23 year-old Old Lyme woman was issued a citation at 7:14 p.m. for possession of narcotics and possession of drug paraphernalia containing less than ½ ounce of marijuana following a motor vehicle stop on Boston Post Road at Spencer Plains Road.

Tuesday, Oct. 31

No arrests were made.

From Oct. 25 to 31, Old Saybrook police issued four citations to motorists for operating an unregistered motor vehicle, one citation for failure to obey a stop sign, and one citation for failure to renew registration.
