Police Incident Report for July 6 to 13


The Guilford Courier publishes a Police Incident Report to inform residents of incidents, criminal activities, and police responses occurring in town. As those charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty, the report does not include names. It may be edited for space and content.

Thursday, July 6

No arrests were made.

• Harassment via emails sent by the complaint’s sister was investigated at 222 Village Walk at 2:11 a.m.

• An assault was investigated at 79 Whitfield Street at 11:25 a.m.

• The theft of a mailbox was investigated at 1753 Long Hill Road at 5:53 p.m.

• A domestic dispute was investigated below the 100 block of Boston Street at 7:01 p.m.

Friday, July 7

• A 36 year-old Woodbridge man was arrested at 11:44 p.m. and charged with interfering with an officer/resisting arrest and violation of probation at 961 Boston Post Road.

• An anonymous complaint was made about a man dressed in black walking on Moose Hill Road at 5:17 a.m. The person of interest was walking to work.

• A landlord/tenant dispute was investigated at 40 Stillmeadow Drive at 9 a.m. The tenant was told to vacate without having been evicted.

• The theft of a motor vehicle was investigated at 301 Boston Post Road at 9:37 a.m. A vehicle was leased on April 29 and not returned.

• A complaint about fraud was investigated at 161 Briarwood Drive at 2:24 p.m. An account was opened in the complainant’s name.

• A burglary was investigated at 29 Hungry Hill Circle at 6:39 p.m.

• A domestic dispute was investigated at 400 Church Street. Verbal dispute only. The ex-husband would not leave the complainant’s vehicle.

Saturday, July 8

No arrests were made.

• A dumping violation was investigated on Leetes Island Road at 4:59 a.m. Furniture was dumped in the entrance to the access of the Amtrak property.

Sunday, July 9

• A 25 year-old East Haven man was arrested at 12:12 p.m. and charged with permitting a minor to possess alcohol.

• Criminal mischief was investigated at a residence located on Old Whitfield Street at 6:35 a.m. This investigation was part of the ongoing incident involving racist graffiti painted on two homes.

• Criminal mischief was investigated at 3 Boston Terrace at 12:25 p.m. A vehicle was damaged.

• A complaint about an unwanted man who refused to leave a hair cutting salon was investigated at 1919 Boston Post Road at 5:03 p.m. The man became threatening.

• Sudden death was investigated a 201 Granite Road at 9:30 p.m.

Monday, July 10

• A 42 year-old man of Summer Street was arrested at 6:56 p.m. and charged with risk of injury to a minor, criminal trespass in the first degree, and larceny in the sixth degree.

• A complaint about a missing juvenile was investigated on the 800 block of Maple Hill Road at 11:42 a.m.

• A larceny was investigated at 222 Village Walk at 11:45 a.m.

• Harassment via phone was investigated on Davis Drive at 12:04 p.m.

• A vehicle repossession was conducted at 71 Fall Road at 1:43 p.m.

• A larceny was investigated at Walmart at 6:16 p.m.

• Criminal trespass was investigated on Lovers Lane at 8:40 p.m. A man refused to leave the fairgrounds.

Tuesday, July 11

• A 22 year-old man of Little Meadow Road was arrested at 4:35 a.m. and charged with disorderly conduct and violation of a standing criminal protection order.

• A 31 year-old East Haven man was arrested at 9:07 p.m. and charged with larceny in the fourth degree and forgery in the third degree.

• A domestic dispute was investigated on the 900 block of Little Meadow Road at 1:09 a.m.

Wednesday, July 12

• A 20 year-old Branford man was arrested at 11:01 a.m. at 505 Whitfield Street and charged with possession of narcotics, use or possession of drug paraphernalia, and sale of a narcotic.

• Ongoing neighbor trouble was investigated on Fitch Hill Road at 2:44 p.m. A land survey was done and one neighbor accused the other of walking on his or her land.

• The theft of a firearm was investigated was 1290 Durham Road at 4:40 p.m.

• Sudden death was investigated at 1900 Boston Post Road at 10:28 p.m.
