Police Incident Report for July 12 to 18


The Sound publishes a Police Incident Report to inform residents of incidents, criminal activities, and police responses occurring in Branford and North Branford. As those charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty, the report does not include names. It may be edited for space and content.

Branford

Wednesday, July 12

• A 55 year-old woman and a 49 year-old man of the same Main Street residence were arrested at 8:55 a.m. Each party was charged with disorderly conduct under the Domestic Violence Act.

• A 27 year-old man of Canton, Ohio was arrested at 6:30 p.m. and charged with criminal attempt to sell or possess heroin, cocaine, methadone, or LSD and two counts of risk of injury to a minor.

Thursday, July 13

• A 35 year-old man of Jefferson Road was arrested at 2:51 p.m. and charged with larceny in the sixth degree.

Friday, July 14

No arrests were made.

• A 19 year-old man of Queach Road was arrested at 2:40 a.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway, and using a hand-held cell phone while driving.

• A 24 year-old New Haven man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 9:53 a.m. for operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension and failure to obey a control signal.

Saturday, July 15

No arrests were made.

Sunday, July 16

• A 35 year-old East Haven man was arrested at 2:12 a.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway, and failure to obey signs and markings.

• A 35 year-old woman of Gentile Place was issued a misdemeanor summons at 11:09 p.m. for operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension and traveling unreasonably fast.

Monday, July 17

• A 26 year-old man of Riverview Avenue was arrested at 2:14 a.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and traveling unreasonably fast.

• A 32 year-old man of Main Street was arrested at 4:56 a.m. on a warrant charging him with failure to appear in the second degree, failure to appear in the first degree, and three counts of failure to play or plead a citation.

Tuesday, July 18

• A 44 year-old West Haven man was arrested at 11 a.m. and charged with larceny in the sixth degree.

• A 35 year-old Middletown man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 12:44 a.m. for operating a motor vehicle without insurance, misuse of registration, operating an unregistered motor, and operating a motor vehicle without a driver’s license.

From July 12 to 18, Branford police issued 34 citations to motorists for traveling unreasonably fast, 16 citations for using a hand-held cell phone while driving, six citations for operating an unregistered motor vehicle, and seven citations for failure to obey a control signal.

North Branford

Wednesday, July 12

• A 27 year-old woman of Branford Road was arrested at 7:30 p.m. and charged with disorderly conduct, assault in the third degree, and strangulation in the third degree.

Thursday, July 13

• A 53 year-old Branford man was arrested at 7 a.m. and charged with criminal violation of a protective order.

Friday, July 14

• A 29 year-old woman of Summit Drive was arrested at 6:45 p.m. and charged with disorderly conduct, interfering with an emergency call, two counts of risk of injury to a minor, and three counts of threatening.

Saturday, July 15

• A 39 year-old man of Mansfield Drive in Northford was arrested at 4:40 a.m. and charged with disorderly conduct and threatening. In the same incident a 40 year-old woman of the same residence as charged with disorderly conduct under the Domestic Violence Act.

Sunday, July 16

No arrests were made.

Monday, July 17

• A 61 year-old man of Totoket Road was arrested at 8:41 p.m. and charged with driving a vehicle to harass or intimidate.

• An 18 year-old man of Branford Road was arrested at 8:41 p.m. and charged with breach of peace in the second degree.

Tuesday, July 18

No arrests were made.

From July 12 to 18, North Branford police issued two citations to motorists for operating an unregistered motor vehicle, one citation for failure to obey a control signal, one citation for using a hand-held cell phone while driving, and one citation for passing on the right.
