Police Incident Report for June 16 to 24


The Harbor News publishes a Police Incident Report to inform residents of incidents, criminal activities, and police responses occurring in the towns of Clinton, Westbrook, and Old Saybrook. As those charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty, the report does not include names. It may be edited for space and content.

Clinton

Friday, June 16

• A 31 year-old man of Sunnybrook Lane was arrested at 8:13 p.m. and charged with possession of a controlled substance, use or possession of drug paraphernalia, failure to obey a stop sign, and operating a motor vehicle without insurance following a motor vehicle stop on West Shore Drive at Nod Road.

• A 33 year-old New Haven man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 6:01 p.m. for operating a motor vehicle without insurance, improper use of registration plates, and operating an unregistered motor vehicle following a motor vehicle stop on Killingworth Turnpike.

Saturday, June 17

• A 51 year-old woman of Old Mill Road was arrested at 1:38 a.m. and charged with possession of narcotics, use or possession of drug paraphernalia, driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, failure to display plates, and improper use of high beams following a motor vehicle stop on High Street.

• A 25 year-old man of West Main Street was arrested at 10:25 a.m. on a warrant charging him with failure to pay or plead a citation.

• A 78 year-old man of West Walk was arrested at 10:08 p.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway following a motor vehicle stop on Beach Park Road.

• A domestic dispute was investigated on West Main Street at 9:58 a.m.

Sunday, June 18

No arrests were made.

• A larceny was investigated on East Main Street at 1:13 p.m.

Monday, June 19

No arrests were made.

• Identity theft was investigated on West Main Street at 9:19 a.m.

Tuesday, June 20

• A 51 year-old East Haven man was arrested at 6:28 a.m. on a warrant charging him with larceny in the fifth degree following a shoplifting incident on East Main Street.

• A complaint about identity theft was investigated on Davis Farm Road at 1:49 p.m.

Wednesday, June 21

• A 23 year-old Bristol man was arrested at 10:51 a.m. on a warrant charging him with larceny in the fifth degree.

• A complaint about identity theft was investigated on Christopher Lane at 12:16 p.m.

Thursday, June 22

No arrests were made.

• Harassment complaints were investigated on Glenwood Road at 7:48 a.m., on Long Hill Road at 5:22 p.m., and on Clover Road at 6:21 p.m.

Friday, June 23

• A 27 year-old man of Pawtucket, Rhode Island was arrested at 4:24 p.m. and charged with larceny in sixth degree (shoplifting), risk of injury to a minor, possession of less than one-half ounce of marijuana, and use or possession of drug paraphernalia containing less than one-half ounce of marijuana.

• Harassment was investigated on West Main Street at 12:52 p.m.

• Criminal mischief was investigated on Brookside Drive at 3:46 p.m.

• An appliance fire was reported on High Street at 9:09 p.m.

Saturday, June 24

• A 38 year-old Bridgeport woman was arrested at 3:20 p.m. and charged with larceny in the sixth degree, conspiracy to commit larceny in the sixth degree, and possession of a shoplifting device following a shoplifting incident on Killingworth Turnpike at the Clinton Crossings mall. In the same incident a 39 year-old Bridgeport woman was charged with larceny in the sixth degree.

• A larceny was investigated on Stony Point Road at 4:31 p.m.

• A marine search and rescue for a missing person was conducted on Long Island Sound by Clinton marine patrol at 10:57 a.m.

Westbrook

Friday, June 16

• A 45 year-old Derby man was arrested at 3:24 p.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway, and operating a motor vehicle without a driver’s license.

Saturday, June 17

• A 29 year-old Hartford man was arrested at 3:20 a.m. and charged with failure to appear in the second degree on an outstanding warrant.

• A 45 year-old man of East Pond Meadow Road was issued a misdemeanor summons at 1:07 a.m. for operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension and failure to pull over or stop for an emergency vehicle engaged into active response on Route 145.

• A 15 year-old male was issued a misdemeanor summons at 11:12 a.m. charging him with disobeying the signal of an officer and operating an unregistered motor vehicle following a motor vehicle stop on West Pond Meadow Road. While in the presence of his mother he was referred to the Juvenile Review Board.

• A 54 year-old Branford woman was issued a citation at 11:41 a.m. for making an improper start from a stopped or standing position when she pulled the 2013 Volvo S60 she was operating out a parking space onto Westbrook Place and struck a 2005 Honda Civic operated by a 36 year-old man of Boston Post Road.

Sunday, June 18

• A 64 year-old Hartford man was arrested at 6:49 p.m. and charged with violation of probation.

Monday, June 19

• A 60 year-old West Haven man was arrested at 1:27 a.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway.

Tuesday, June 20 to Thursday, June 22

No arrests were made.

Friday, June 23

• 48 year-old man of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania was arrested at 1:06 p.m. and charged with refusal to submit to DNA testing as mandated by court order.

Saturday, June 24

• A 25 year-old Middletown man was arrested at 3:57 p.m. on a warrant held by Norwalk police charging him with failure to appear in the second degree.

• Troopers investigated a domestic violence incident that reportedly occurred on June 20 between an adult male and an adult female. No injuries were reported in the incident.

Old Saybrook

Friday, June 16

No arrests were made.

• A 26 year-old man of Essex Road was issued a misdemeanor summons at for evading responsibility in the operation of a motor vehicle (fleeing the scene of an accident) on Boston Post Road at Middlesex Turnpike.

Saturday, June 17

• A 59 year-old Middletown man was arrested at 7:11 p.m. on a warrant charging him with failure to appear in the second degree.

• A 59 year-old man of Mill Pond Road was issued a citation at 1:19 p.m. for failure to vaccinate a dog.

• A 22 year-old Essex woman was issued a citation at 9:18 p.m. for operating an unregistered motor vehicle, use or possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of less than one-half ounce of marijuana following a motor vehicle stop on Boston Post Road at Middlesex Turnpike.

Sunday, June 18

• A 16 year-old was arrested at 10:40 p.m. and charged with disorderly conduct. The youth was turned over to a legal guardian.

• A 24 year-old woman of Fourth Avenue was issued a citation at 5:45 p.m. for possession of less than one-half ounce of marijuana and use or possession of drug paraphernalia at Between the Bridges Marina.

Monday, June 19

No arrests were made.

• A 32 year-old Clinton man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 5:05 p.m. for operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension, failure to obey a stop sign, and having an obstructed view through the windshield following a motor vehicle stop on King Street at Boston Post Road. In the same incident a 32 year-old Lyme man was issued a citation for possession of less than one-half ounce of marijuana and use or possession of drug paraphernalia containing less than one-half ounce of marijuana.

Tuesday, June 20

No arrests were made.

• A 52 year-old Ivoryton man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 9:49 p.m. for failure to obey the signal of an officer, failure to obey state traffic commission road signs or markings, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, operation a motor vehicle without insurance, and failure to display marker plates following a motor vehicle stop on Bokum Road.

• A 21 year-old man of Sunrise Avenue was issued a citation at 9:55 p.m. for failure to carry a driver’s license, failure to obey state traffic commission road signs or markings, and possession of drug paraphernalia following a motor vehicle stop on Boston Post Road at Route 166.

Wednesday, June 21

• A 21 year-old Rocky Hill man was arrested at 6 a.m. and charged with interfering with an officer, disorderly conduct under the Domestic Violence Act, and possession of less than one-half ounce of marijuana.

• A 65 year-old Windsor man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 12:05 a.m. for evading responsibility in the operation of a motor vehicle (fleeing the scene of an accident) following a motor vehicle accident on Boston Post Road at Springbrook Road.

Thursday, June 22

No arrests were made.

Friday, June 23

• A 29 year-old woman of Memphis, Tennessee was arrested at 7:33 p.m. on a warrant held by the Madison police department charging her with failure to pay or plead a citation.

• A 34 year-old man of Mobile, Alabama was arrested on a warrant held by Madison police charging him with failure to pay or plead a citation.

• A 56 year-old Ivoryton man was arrested at 1:39 p.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs following a motor vehicle stop on Boston Post Road at Lynde Street.

• A 23 year-old Wethersfield man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 12:57 p.m. for reckless driving following a motor vehicle stop on Boston Post Road at Stage Road.

• A 47 year-old man of Main Street was issued a citation at 8:47 p.m. for possession of less than one-half ounce of marijuana following a motor vehicle stop on Boston Post Road at Schoolhouse Road.

Saturday, June 24

No arrests were made.

• A 25 year-old New London man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 10:29 a.m. for failure to obey a stop sign, operating a motor vehicle without a driver’s license, and having an obstructed view through the windshield following a motor vehicle stop on Elm Street at Ingham Hill Road.

• A 70 year-old man of Watrous Point Road was issued a citation at 8:55 p.m. for allowing a dog to roam on Trolley Road.

• A 37 year-old woman of Hill Street was issued a citation at 10:10 p.m. for allowing a dog to roam on Shore Avenue near Clinton Avenue.
