Police Incident Report for May 31 to June 6


The Harbor News publishes a Police Incident Report to inform residents of incidents, criminal activities, and police responses occurring in the towns of Clinton, Westbrook, and Old Saybrook. As those charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty, the report does not include names. It may be edited for space and content.

Clinton

Wednesday, May 31

• A 33 year-old Waterford woman and a 21 year-old Montville woman were arrested at 8:33 p.m. Each party was charged with possession if narcotics and use or possession of drug paraphernalia following an investigation on High Street.

• A 23 year-old Madison woman was issued a misdemeanor summons at 5:57 p.m. for possession of less than one-half ounce of marijuana, use or possession of drug paraphernalia containing less than one-half ounce or less of marijuana, and violation of state traffic commission signs or markings.

• Harassment was investigated on West Main Street at 12:53 p.m.

• A larceny was investigated on High Street at 9:41 p.m.

Thursday, June 1

No arrests were made.

• Harassment was investigated on Knollwood Drive at 1:17 p.m.

• A motor vehicle accident without injuries was investigated on East Main Street at 7:39 p.m.

• A larceny was investigated on Pratt Road at 10:55 p.m.

Friday, June 2

• A 36 year-old man of Old Cambridge Court was arrested at 1:50 a.m. and charged with disorderly conduct following a domestic dispute on Nod Road. In the same incident a 31 year-old woman of Nod Road was charged with the same.

• A theft (via shoplifting) was investigated on Killingworth Turnpike at 10:48 a.m.

• A 26 year-old Cromwell man was arrested at 9:42 p.m. and charged with possession of narcotics, possession of less than one-half ounce of marijuana, and use or possession of drug paraphernalia containing less than one-half ounce of marijuana following a motor vehicle stop on Killingworth Turnpike near Interstate 95.

• A motor vehicle accident without injuries was investigated on North High Street at 10:35 p.m.

Saturday, June 3

• A 20 year-old Westport man was arrested at 12:31 a.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, possession of marijuana, use or possession of drug paraphernalia, and failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway following a motor vehicle stop on Glenwood Road. In the same incident a 19 year-old Brookfield man was issued a citation for possession of less than one-half ounce of marijuana ad use or possession of drug paraphernalia containing less than one-half ounce of marijuana. Additionally, a 20 year-old was issued a citation for possession of less than one-half ounce of marijuana.

• A 26 year-old woman of Egypt Lane was arrested at 1:27 a.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, disobeying the signal of an officer, failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway, and traveling unreasonably fast.

• A 23 year-old man of Old Mill Road was arrested at 11:17 a.m. on a warrant charging him with failure to appear in the second degree. He was also issued a citation at 12:25 p.m. for possession of less than one-half ounce of marijuana.

• A 19 year-old woman of Glenwood Road was issued a summons at 2:05 a.m. for possession of alcohol by a minor on a public street or highway following an investigation on West Main Street. In that same incident a 19 year-old man of Old Nod Road was issued a citation for possession of less than one-half ounce of marijuana.

• A larceny was investigated on Brickyard Road at 5:34 p.m.

• A domestic dispute was investigated on Partridge Lane at 10:43 p.m.

Sunday, June 4

• A 27 year-old Norwalk woman was arrested at 2:19 p.m. and charged with larceny in the sixth degree following a shoplifting incident on Killingworth Turnpike.

• A complaint about identity theft was investigated on Elmwood Way at 2:15 p.m.

• An untimely death was investigated on Lafayette Green Road at 3:35 p.m.

• Harassment was investigated on Princess Pine Lane at 11:03 p.m.

Monday, June 5

• A 38 year-old Deep River man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 12:45 p.m. for operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension following a motor vehicle stop on West Main Street.

• A 23 year-old Ansonia woman was issued a citation at 3:40 p.m. for failure to obey a stop sign, using a hand-held cell phone while driving, and improper passing/cutting in following a motor vehicle stop on liberty Street at Glenwood Road.

• A 17 year-old was issued a summons for possession by a minor of an electronic nicotine delivery device following an investigation on West Main Street.

• An 18 year-old Essex woman was issued a summons at 10:14 p.m. for possession of less than one-half ounce of marijuana and use or possession of drug paraphernalia containing less than one-half ounce of marijuana following a motor vehicle stop on Cow Hill Road at Egypt Lane.

• A larceny was investigated on Indian Drive at 11:52 a.m.

• Harassment was investigated on Central Avenue at 6:55 p.m.

Tuesday, June 6

• A 60 year-old man of Lafayette Green Road was arrested at 4:40 p.m. on a warrant charging him with failure to appear in the first degree and failure to appear in the second degree.

• A 59 year-old Guilford man was arrested at 1:19 p.m. on a warrant charging him with evading responsibility in the operation of a motor vehicle.

• A 30 year-old man of Ninety Rod Road was issued a misdemeanor summons at 8:57 p.m. for improper use of registration plates, operating a motor vehicle without insurance, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, and failure to obey a stop sign following a motor vehicle stop on Glenwood Road at Ninety Rod Road.

Wednesday, May 31

Thursday, June 1

• A 24 year-old East Lyme man was arrested at 6:24 p.m. and charged with illegal possession of a narcotic, use or possession of drug paraphernalia, failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway, and possession of greater than one-half ounce of marijuana. He was processed and released on a $2,500 non-surety bond.

• A 29 year-old man of Chapman Mill Pond Road was arrested at 6:48 p.m. for illegal possession of narcotics and use or possession of drug paraphernalia. The accused was found seated in the passenger seat of a vehicle that was stopped with its flashers turned on. The accused appeared to be sleeping. The investigating trooper observed a used syringe lying in the lap of the accused. The trooper woke the accused and asked him to step out of the vehicle. The trooper conducted a search of the vehicle and found two small bags containing a powder type substance suspected to be heroin. Prescription medication and assorted drug paraphernalia were also found. The accused was processed and released on a $5,000 non-surety bond.

Friday, June 2

• A 27 year-old man of Menunketesuck Drive was arrested at 1:12 a.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and failure to renew registration following a motor vehicle stop on Grove Beach Road.

• A 34 year-old New London man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 7:01 a.m. for operating a motor vehicle without insurance, improper use of marker plates, and operating an unregistered motor vehicle.

Saturday, June 3

• A 31 year-old New Haven woman was arrested at 1:39 a.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension, and failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway following a motor vehicle stop.

• A 47 year-old Clinton man was arrested at 1:53 p.m. on a warrant charging him with breach of peace in the second degree.

• A 57 year-old Hartford woman was arrested at 8:24 p.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs. The accused was found sitting on the ground, partially slumped inside the passenger compartment on her vehicle, while in the parking lot of Connecticut River Lumber located at 93 Spencer Plains Road in Old Saybrook

Tuesday, June 6

No arrests were made.

• A theft of more than $6,000 from an adult male’s savings account via fraudulent use of a credit card was investigated on Boston Post Road at 4:21 p.m. Some of the stolen money was taken out of the victim’s account from ATM machines in the towns of Westbrook and Clinton. Anyone with information about thefts via credit cards in the aforementioned towns is urged to call Trooper Gregory Hunter at 860-399-2100. All calls will be kept confidential.

Old Saybrook

Wednesday, May 31

• A 27 year-old Bristol man was arrested at 12:12 p.m. and charged with larceny in the third degree, conspiracy to commit larceny in the third degree, credit card theft, conspiracy to commit credit card theft, illegal use of a credit card, conspiracy to commit illegal use of a credit card, six counts of burglary in the third degree, six counts of conspiracy to commit burglary in the third degree, five counts of criminal trespass, five counts of conspiracy to commit criminal trespass, theft of a firearm, conspiracy to steal a firearm, criminal possession of a firearm, and conspiracy to commit criminal possession of a firearm.

• A 24 year-old Waterbury man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 6:42 p.m. for operating an unregistered motor vehicle, operating a motor vehicle while under license of registration suspension, operating a motor vehicle without insurance following a motor vehicle stop on College Street at Main Street.

• A 43 year-old man of Church Street was arrested at 9:38 p.m. and charged with assault in the third degree. In the same incident a 51 year-old man of Charlestown, Rhode Island was charged with the same.

Thursday, June 1

• A 28 year-old Deep River woman was arrested at 2:31 a.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

• A juvenile was arrested at 10:36 a.m. and charged with carrying a dangerous weapon on school grounds, carrying a dangerous weapon, breach of peace in the second degree, and reckless endangerment in the second degree.

• A 25 year-old Groton man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 11:21 a.m. for evading responsibility in the operation of a motor vehicle (fleeing the scene of an accident), and failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway following a motor vehicle accident on Ingham Hill Road at Jorgensen Lane.

Friday, June 2

• A 17 year-old was arrested at 8:24 p.m. and charged with illegal sale of a controlled substance and conspiracy to commit illegal sale of a controlled substance. In the same incident a 46 year-old New London man was arrested on a warrant charging him with criminal mischief in the third degree and larceny in the sixth degree. In the same incident a 19 year-old New London man was charged with illegal sale of a controlled substance and conspiracy to commit illegal sale of a controlled substance. Additionally, a 25 year-old Preston woman was charged with illegal sale of a controlled substance, conspiracy to commit illegal sale of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, use or possession of drug paraphernalia, operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension, traveling unreasonably fast, and failure to display marker plate. He was also charged on a court issued warrant for failure to appear in the second degree.

Saturday, June 3

• A 48 year-old man of Connally Drive was arrested at 8:13 p.m. and charged with public indecency, breach of peace in the second degree, and interfering with an officer.

• A 23 year-old Hartford man was issued a citation at 5:25 p.m. for failure to secure a child under the age of six in a car seat and traveling unreasonably fast.

• A 22 year-old Westbrook man was issued a citation at 12:24 a.m. for possession of less than one-half ounce of marijuana and use or possession of drug paraphernalia containing less than one-half ounce of marijuana on Boston Post Road at King Street.

Sunday, June 4

• A 38 year-old Deep River woman was arrested at 1:04 a.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, speeding, and failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway.

• A 22 year-old Old Lyme man was issued a citation at 5:57 a.m. for possession of less than one-half ounce of marijuana and use or possession of drug paraphernalia containing less than one-half ounce of marijuana on Boston Post Road at Main Street.

• A 53 year-old New London man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 8:31 p.m. for operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension following a motor vehicle stop on Hill Street.

• A 28 year-old New London man was arrested at 9:24 p.m. on a warrant charging him with violation of probation.

Monday, June 5

No arrests were made.

Tuesday, June 6

• A 52 year-old woman of Bridge Street was arrested at 6:17 p.m. and charged with disorderly conduct under the domestic violence act and driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

From May 31 to June 6 Old Saybrook police issued 10 citations to motorists for failure to wear a seat belt in the front seat, two citations for operating an unregistered motor vehicle, and two citations for failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway.
