Police Incident Report for May 10 to 23


The Harbor News publishes a Police Incident Report to inform residents of incidents, criminal activities, and police responses occurring in the towns of Clinton, Westbrook, and Old Saybrook. As those charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty, the report does not include names. It may be edited for space and content.

Clinton

Wednesday, May 10

• A 21 year-old man of Cow Hill Road was arrested at 4:49 p.m. and charged with possession of a controlled substance, use or possession of drug paraphernalia, and traveling unreasonably fast following a motor vehicle stop on Cow Hill Road near Airline Road.

• Harassment was investigated on Brickyard Road at 11:44 a.m.

Thursday, May 11

• A 16 year-old was arrested on Lockwood Drive at 8:38 p.m. and charged with disorderly conduct under the Domestic Violence Act.

• A 30 year-old Stamford woman was issued a misdemeanor summons at 5:07 p.m. for evading responsibility in the operation of a motor vehicle (fleeing the scene of an accident) following a motor vehicle accident with injuries on Glenwood Road.

• Harassment was investigated on Nod Road at 8:46 a.m.

Friday, May 12

• A 25 year-old man of Canterbury Lane was arrested at 5:07 p.m. and charged with disorderly conduct, assault in the third degree, unlawful restraint in the second degree, and interfering with an emergency call following a motor vehicle stop on East Main Street at Waterside Lane.

• A motor vehicle accident without injuries was investigated on West Grove Street at Grove Street at 2:40 p.m.

• A motor vehicle accident without injuries was investigated on Killingworth Turnpike at Glenwood Road at 5:07 p.m.

• A noise complaint was reported on Waterside Lane at 11:13 p.m.

Saturday, May 13

• A 32 year-old man of Bright Hill Drive was arrested at 9:29 a.m. and charged with disorderly conduct and strangulation in the third degree under the Domestic Violence Act.

Sunday, May 14

• A 40 year-old man of Olde Orchard Road was arrested at 5:21 p.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, operating a motor vehicle without insurance, traveling unreasonably fast, and operating an unregistered motor vehicle following a motor vehicle stop on Cow Hill Road at Longate Road.

• A motor vehicle accident without injuries was investigated on Merrill Road at 11:31 a.m.

• A larceny was investigated on Princess Pine Lane at 1:12 p.m.

Monday, May 15

No arrests were made.

• A complaint about identity theft was investigated on Houperts Way at 1:20 p.m.

• A neighbor dispute was investigated on Lafayette Green Road at 6:13 p.m.

Tuesday, May 16

• A 29 year-old West Haven man was arrested at 7:53 p.m. and charged with possession of narcotics and use or possession of drug paraphernalia.

• Threatening was investigated on Lafayette Green Road at 12:03 a.m.

• A larceny was investigated on East Main Street at 3:27 p.m.

Wednesday, May 17

• A 25 year-old man of West Main Street was arrested at 12:27 a.m. and charged with failure to keep a prescription narcotic in its original container, possession of less than one-half ounce of marijuana, and use or possession of drug paraphernalia containing less than one-half ounce of marijuana following a motor vehicle stop on Commerce Street at Dan Vece Jr Way.

• A 31 year-old woman of Bright Hill Road was arrested at 1:56 p.m. on a warrant charging her with assault in the third degree and disorderly conduct.

• A 19 year-old North Branford woman was arrested at 4:56 p.m. and charged with larceny in the sixth degree following a shoplifting incident on Killingworth Turnpike.

• A larceny was investigated on East Main Street at 4:47 p.m.

Thursday, May 18

No arrests were made.

• A complaint about identity theft was investigated on Longate Road at 10:33 a.m.

• A neighbor dispute was investigated on Harbor Parkway at 3:14 p.m.

Friday, May 19

• A 45 year-old man and a 49 year-old woman of the same Pearl Street address were arrested at 7:17 p.m. Each party was charged with disorderly conduct under the Domestic Violence Act.

• A motor vehicle accident without injuries on East Main Street at Beach Park Road was investigated at 12:55 p.m.

Saturday, May 20

• A 45 year-old Westbrook man was arrested at 3:56 p.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, evading responsibility in the operation of a motor vehicle (fleeing the scene of an accident), failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway, and possession of less than one-half ounce of marijuana following a motor vehicle accident on High Street.

• A motor vehicle accident without injuries was investigated on Kelseytown Road at 1:07 p.m.

• A noise complaint was reported on Commerce Street at 8:20 p.m.

Sunday, May 21

No arrests were made.

• A noise complaint was reported on Commerce Street at 2:11 a.m.

• A motor vehicle accident without injuries was investigated on West Main Street at Highland Drive at 12:16 p.m.

• An assault was investigated on Cream Pot Road at 3:35 p.m.

• An untimely death was reported on Pratt Road at 3:27 p.m.

• A burglary was investigated on Harbor Parkway at 7:20 p.m.

• A dispute/disturbance was reported on East Main Street at 10:07 p.m.

Monday, May 22

• A 38 year-old woman of Cow Hill Road was arrested at 12:10 p.m. on a warrant charging her with failure to appear in the second degree.

• A motor vehicle accident in which a vehicle struck a building or utility pole was investigated on College Street at 3:03 p.m.

Tuesday, May 23

No arrests were made.

• Threatening was investigated on East Main Street at 8:45 a.m.

• A noise complaint was investigated on Groveway at 10 p.m.

• A larceny was investigated on Cow Hill Road at 4:13 p.m.

Westbrook

Wednesday, May 10

No arrests were made.

• A 20 year-old Colchester woman was issued a misdemeanor summons at 10:58 a.m. for reckless driving and operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension.

Thursday, May 11

• A 31 year-old East Haven man was arrested at 3:26 p.m. on a warrant charging him with failure to appear in the first degree. He was additionally charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of a hallucinogen, possession within 1,500 feet of a school or public housing, and use or possession of drug paraphernalia.

Friday, May 12

• A 31 year-old New Haven woman was arrested at 10:14 a.m. on a warrant charging her with failure to appear in the second degree.

Saturday, May 13

• A 54 year-old Haddam man was arrested at 12:41 a.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and reckless driving.

• A 21 year-old Guilford man was arrested at 12:49 a.m. on warrants charging him with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway after we was stopped while for walking on the highway (I-95).

• A 63 year-old man of Docs Hill Road was arrested at 9:09 p.m. and charged with possession of an assault weapon, illegal possession of high capacity (gun) magazines, disorderly conduct, harassment in the second degree, and threatening in the first degree. He was processed on a $30,000 surety bond.

• A 20 year-old Higganum man was arrested at 11:18 p.m. and charged with criminal mischief in the third degree, disorderly conduct, and threatening. He was processed on a $5,000 surety bond.

• A threatening incident was investigated at Dairy Queen located on Boston Post Road at 2:30 p.m. An adult male spit in the face of another adult male and made threats of bodily injury against him. Anyone with information about this incident is urged to call Trooper Gregory Hunter at 860-399-2100. All calls will be kept confidential.

Sunday, May 14

• A 29 year-old Southbury man was arrested at 2:56 a.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, possession of a controlled substance (suspected LSD), possession of less than one-half ounce of marijuana, and improper parking. The accused was found slumped over the steering wheel (with a cell phone in his hand) of a black Volkswagen Jetta bearing Connecticut plate 865XUK that was stopped at the end of the I-95 northbound exit 64 off ramp. The speech of the accused was slurred and he seemed confused after he was woken by the investigating trooper. The operator subsequently submitted to a standardized field sobriety test, which he failed to perform to minimum standards. He was processed on a $25,000 surety bond.

• A 31 year-old man of Fairview Road was arrested at 10:50 a.m. on a warrant charging him with breach of peace in the second degree and reckless endangerment in the second degree.

• A 39 year-old man of Norris Avenue was issued a written warning at 4:29 p.m. for failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway and traveling unreasonably fast after he lost control of the 2001 Honda motorcycle he was operating northbound on West Pond Meadow Road near #21 and struck a wire rope guardrail. The operator and his 25 year-old male passenger (of the same residence as the operator) were transported by Westbrook Ambulance to Middlesex Hospital Shoreline Medical Clinic in Westbrook for treatment of minor injuries.

Monday, May 15

No arrests were made.

Tuesday, May 16

• A 30 year-old New Haven man was arrested at 3:40 a.m. on warrants charging him with failure to appear in the first degree and failure to appear in the second degree. The arrest warrants were discovered after he was stopped for speeding.

• A 31 year-old man of Boston Post Road was arrested at 7:43 p.m. and charged with breach of peace in the second degree and assault in the third degree following the report of a disturbance on the 1700 block of Boston Post Road.

Wednesday, May 17

• A 25 year-old Meriden man was arrested at 1:25 p.m. and charged with reckless driving, operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension, improper registration, and possession of less than one-half ounce of marijuana following a motor vehicle stop. The accused was operating a motorcycle at high speeds and was tailgating slower traffic.

Thursday, May 18

• A 58 year-old man of Brooklyn, New York was arrested at 2:33 p.m. on a warrant charging him with failure to appear in the second degree. He was processed and released after posting a $2,500 surety bond.

• An 18 year-old New Britain woman was arrested at 2:43 p.m. and charged with disorderly conduct and interfering with an officer (non-assaultive). In the same incident two 23 year-old women of West Springfield, Massachusetts were charged with interfering with an officer (non-assaultive) and breach of peace following a fight.

• A juvenile was arrested at 4:18 p.m. and charged with disorderly conduct and criminal mischief in the third degree following a disturbance on Mink Rock Circle.

• A 24 year-old Rocky Hill man was arrested at 5:47 p.m. and charged with breach of peace in the second degree and assault in the third degree. He was processed and released on a $1,000 non-surety bond.

Friday, May 19 to Saturday, May 20

No arrests were made.

Sunday, May 21

• A 24 year-old Middlefield man was arrested at 2:09 p.m. on a warrant charging him with failure to pay or plead a citation.

Monday, May 22

• A 39 year-old New Haven man was arrested at 2:46 a.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, improper parking, and possession of less than one-half ounce of marijuana. A trooper observed a black mustang bearing CT AH60874 parked in the northbound shoulder of Route 145 facing south. Troopers observed the operator to be asleep behind the wheel. After multiple attempts, the operator woke and he was lethargic and attempted to drive away. Troopers secured the ignition keys. The operator had slurred speech, was incoherent, and he verbally admitted to smoking PCP and ingesting alcoholic beverage. Due to his condition, EMS personnel transported him to the Middlesex Hospital Shoreline Medical Clinic in Westbrook where he was then processed by police and released on a $500 non-surety bond and issued a June 6 court date at Middletown Superior Court.

• A 44 year-old Durham man was arrested at 11:30 a.m. and charged with failure to appear in the second degree on an outstanding warrant following a motor vehicle stop. He was also charged with operating a motor while under license or registration suspension and operating an unregistered motor vehicle.

• A 27 year-old Branford man was arrested at 11:11 p.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway.

• A 43 year-old man of Grove Beach North was issued a misdemeanor summons at 8:25 a.m. for operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension and improper parking.

Tuesday, May 23

No arrests were made.

• A 37 year-old New London man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 7:52 a.m. for operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension and operating an unregistered motor vehicle following a motor vehicle stop on McVeagh Road.

• A criminal trespass and larceny incident was investigated at Pilot’s Point Marina at 11:53 a.m. During the prior four weeks, an adult white male and an adult white female were illegally living on and stealing items from a boat docked at the North Gate section of the marina. Anyone with information about this couple or incident is asked to call Trooper Gregory Hunter at 860-399-2100. Police stated that all calls will be kept confidential.

Wednesday, May 10 to Thursday, May 11

Friday, May 12

• A 42 year-old East Lyme woman was arrested at 3:27 p.m. and charged with larceny in the sixth degree.

• A 19 year-old Higganum man was issued a citation at 10:04 p.m. for possession of less than one-half ounce of marijuana and use or possession of drug paraphernalia containing less than one-half ounce of marijuana following a motor vehicle stop on Boston Post Road at Thompkins Lane.

• A 46 year-old woman of Middletown Avenue was arrested at 11:08 p.m. and charged with disorderly conduct, assault of an elderly person, and illegal possession of prescription drugs. She was processed and released after posting a $4,000 surety bond.

Saturday, May 13

• A 33 year-old man of Fieldbrook Avenue was arrested at 1:36 a.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and failure to have tail lamps lit following a motor vehicle stop on North Main Street.

• A 48 year-old man of Ayers Point Road was arrested at 11:04 a.m. and charged with harassment in the second degree and violation of a protective order under the Domestic Violence Act.

• A 54 year-old woman of Laurel Lane was arrested at 4:14 p.m. and charged with larceny in the sixth degree.

Sunday, May 14

• A 50 year-old woman of Pawtucket, Rhode Island was arrested at 12:36 p.m. and charged with criminal attempt to commit larceny in the sixth degree.

• A 26 year-old man of Briarwood Drive was arrested at 4:20 p.m. and charged with disorderly conduct and voyeurism.

• A 22 year-old woman of Voluntown, Colorado was arrested at 6:51 p.m. and charged with two counts of possession of a dangerous weapon in a motor vehicle, risk of injury to a minor, possession of marijuana, and use or possession of drug paraphernalia. In the same incident, a 28 year-old man of South Attleboro, Massachusetts, was charged with possession of burglary tools, larceny by possession of stolen goods, risk of injury to a minor, possession of narcotics, and uses or possession of drug paraphernalia.

Monday, May 15

• A 44 year-old Guilford woman was arrested at 1:54 p.m. and charged with larceny in the sixth degree.

• A 17 year-old, a 16 year-old, and a 15 year-old were arrested at 5:17 p.m. Each juvenile was charged with larceny in the sixth degree and conspiracy to commit larceny in the sixth degree.

Tuesday, May 16

No arrests were made.

• A 35 year-old Westbrook man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 1:03 a.m. for operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension and failure to dim headlamps following a motor vehicle stop on Boston Post Road near Spencer Plains Road.

Wednesday, May 17 to Thursday, May 18

No arrests were made.

Friday, May 19

• A 25 year-old Norwich man was arrested at 1:01 p.m. and charged with breach of peace in the second degree. He was processed and held on a $1,000 surety bond that he could not post. He was issued a May 22 court date at Middletown Superior Court for arraignment.

Saturday, May 20

• A 59 year-old Haddam woman was arrested at 9:36 p.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway.

• A 63 year-old man of Watch Hill Road was issued a misdemeanor summons at 5:23 p.m. for operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension following a motor vehicle stop on Boston Post Road at Main Street.

Sunday, May 21

• A 23 year-old Chester man was arrested at 6:32 p.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Monday, May 22

No arrests were made.


Tuesday, May 23

• A 21 year-old man of Middlesex Turnpike was arrested at 8:57 a.m. and charged with violation of probation on the strength of a court-issued warrant.
