Police Incident Report for April 5 to 15


The Harbor News publishes a Police Incident Report to inform residents of incidents, criminal activities, and police responses occurring in the towns of Clinton, Westbrook, and Old Saybrook. As those charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty, the report does not include names. It may be edited for space and content.

Clinton

Wednesday, April 5 to Thursday, April 6

No arrests were made.

Friday, April 7

• A 36 year-old Woodbridge resident was arrested at 7:10 p.m. and charged with two counts of leaving a child unsupervised following a complaint about children left alone on Killingworth Turnpike.

• A complaint about identity theft was investigated on Bargate Road at 1:43 p.m.

Saturday, April 8

• A 34 year-old man of Longate Road was arrested at 7:54 p.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs following a motor vehicle accident with injuries on East Main Street.

• An untimely death was investigated on Old Nod Road at 7:08 a.m.

• A childbirth incident was reported on East Main Street at 8:37 a.m.

Sunday, April 9

• A 29 year-old woman of Hickory Hill Road was arrested at 1:10 a.m. on a warrant charging her with two counts of failure to appear in the second degree and operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension following a motor vehicle stop on East Main Street.

• Criminal mischief was investigated on West Main Street at 12:27 p.m.

• A larceny was investigated on Killingworth Turnpike at 1:18 p.m.

Monday, April 10

• A 28 year-old Hartford woman was arrested at 6:15 a.m. on a warrant charging her with failure to appear in the second degree.

• The passing of bad checks was investigated on Killingworth Turnpike at 2:13 p.m.

Tuesday, April 11

No arrests were made.

• A complaint about identity theft was investigated on Ironworks Road at 2:36 p.m.

• Harassment was investigated on Cow Hill Road at 5:37 p.m.

• A larceny via shoplifting was investigated on Killingworth Turnpike at 7:38 p.m.

Wednesday, April 12

• A 24 year-old Norwich man was arrested at 3 a.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension, and failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway following a motor vehicle stop on Old Post Road. In the same incident a 19 year-old Westbrook man was charged with possession of narcotics.

Thursday, April 13

No arrests were made.

• A complaint about identity theft was investigated on Nod Road at 9:30 a.m.

• A burglary was investigated on Riverside Drove at 11:21 a.m.

• A larceny was investigated on Christina Court at 2:59 p.m.

• A dispute was investigated on Morgan Park at 9:21 p.m.

• A motor vehicle accident without injuries was investigated on East Main Street at 8:23 p.m.

• A dispute was investigated on Liberty Place at 11:39 p.m.

Friday, April 14

No arrests were made.

• A dispute was investigated on Allen Road at 4:28 a.m.

• A motor vehicle accident without injuries was investigated on East Main Street at Stanton Road at 11:29 a.m.

• A motor vehicle accident without injuries was investigated on East Main Street at 11:47 a.m.

• Harassment was investigated on Nod Road at 1:20 p.m.

Saturday, April 15

• A 22 year-old Old Saybrook woman was arrested at 12:57 a.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs following a motor vehicle stop on East Main Street. She failed a standardized field sobriety test.

• A shoplifting incident was investigated on Killingworth Turnpike at 3:19 p.m.

Westbrook

Wednesday, April 5

• A 26 year-old New London woman was arrested at 3:30 p.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, reckless driving, disobeying the signal of an officer, and failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway.

• A 39 year-old man of Boston Post Road was arrested at 3:36 p.m. and charged with larceny in the fifth degree.

• A 58 year-old man of Boston Post Road was arrested at 8:21 p.m. on a warrant charging him with failure to appear in the second degree.

• A 44 year-old Bethlehem woman was issued a misdemeanor summons at 9:08 a.m. for evading responsibility in the operation of a motor vehicle (fleeing the scene of an accident), failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway, and operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension.

Thursday, April 6

• A 28 year-old Branford man was arrested at 11:52 p.m. on a warrant charging him with failure to appear in the second degree following the report of a disabled vehicle.

Friday, April 7 to Saturday, April 8

No arrests were made.

Sunday, April 9

• A 44 year-old Haddam man was arrested at 1:20 a.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway.

Monday, April 10

• A 23 Durham man was arrested at 6:01 p.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, failure to drive right, and failure to wear a seat belt in the front seat.

Tuesday, April 11

No arrests were made.

Wednesday, April 12

No arrests were made.

• A one-vehicle crash was investigated at 5:38 p.m. A male was operating a 1987 Ford Mustang GT southbound on Route 153 just south of McVeagh Road when he drive off the right shoulder and struck a tree. The operator, who was the lone occupant of the vehicle, suffered minor abrasions to his chest and abdomen. He declined medical attention at the scene but later sought medical help at Middlesex Hospital Shoreline Medical Clinic in Westbrook at the urging of family members. The case was still under investigation at the time the police press report was issued.

Thursday, April 13

• A 44 year-old Haddam man was arrested at 1:20 a.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway. He failed a standardized field sobriety test.

Friday, April 14

• A 23 year-old Durham man was arrested at 6:01 p.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, failure to wear a seat belt in the first seat, and failure to drive right. He failed a standardized field sobriety test.

Thursday, April 6

• A 34 year-old New London man was arrested at 9:39 p.m. on a warrant charging him with two counts of violation of probation.

Friday, April 7

No arrests were made.

• A 51 year-old man of Lookout Hill Road was issued a misdemeanor summons for operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension and improper signal for a turn following a motor vehicle stop on Elm Street at Boston Post Road.

Saturday, April 8

• A 64 year-old man of Fernwood Road was arrested at 12:02 a.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

• A 35 year-old Clinton woman was arrested at 2:40 a.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, larceny in the sixth degree, and conspiracy to commit larceny in the sixth degree. In the same incident a 30 year-old East Haven was arrested and charged with breach of peace in the second degree, larceny in the sixth degree, and conspiracy to commit larceny in the sixth degree.

Sunday, April 9

• A 22 year-old man of Hill Street was arrested at 11:45 p.m. and charged with disorderly conduct under the Domestic Violence Act.

• A 50 year-old East Haven man was issued a citation at 7:03 p.m. for creating a public disturbance on Boston Post Road.

Monday, April 10

• A 21 year-old Killingworth woman was arrested at 5:14 p.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, possession of less than one-half ounce of marijuana, use or possession of drug paraphernalia, and using a hand-held cell phone while driving.

Tuesday, April 11

• A 15 year-old was arrested at 3:25 p.m. and charged with breach of peace in the second degree and possession of alcohol by a minor. The youth was processed and released to parental custody. In the same incident a 19 year-old Newington man and two 16 year-olds were charged with possession of alcohol by a minor on town beach property.

Wednesday, April 12

• A 17 year-old was arrested at 5:40 p.m. and charged with breach of peace. The youth was processed and released to parental custody on a written promise to appear in Middletown Superior Court for Juvenile Matters.

• A 36 year-old man of Schoolhouse Road was arrested at 5:09 p.m. on a warrant charging him with assault in the third degree on a person who is pregnant, handicapped, or over the age of 60 following a domestic dispute.

• A 37 year-old woman of Ayers Point Road was arrested at 8:35 p.m. and charged with breach of peace in the second degree under the domestic violence act.

Thursday, April 13

• A 74 year-old man of Connally Drive was arrested at 12:42 p.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and disorderly conduct.

• A 55 year-old Essex man was issued a citation at 3:32 p.m. for simple trespass on Connally Drive.

Friday, April 14

• A 22 year-old man of Ragged Rock Road was arrested at 11:45 p.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension, possession of less than one-half ounce of marijuana, use or possession of drug paraphernalia, failure to carry proof of insurance, and failure to have tail lamps.

Saturday, April 15

• A 17 year-old was arrested at 12:29 p.m. and charged with possession of less than one-half ounce of marijuana on Boston Post Road at Lynde Street. The youth was schedule to appear in Juvenile Court on April 26.

• A 19 year-old man of Ingham Hill Road was issued a citation at 5:08 pm. for possession of less than one-half ounce of marijuana and use or possession of drug paraphernalia containing less than one-half ounce of marijuana. In the same incident an 18 year-old man of Ridge Road was issued a citation for possession of less than one-half ounce of marijuana and use or possession of drug paraphernalia containing less than one-half ounce of marijuana.
