Wednesday, Dec. 14 to Thursday, Dec. 15

Friday, Dec. 16

• A 20 year-old Deep River man was issued a citation at 7:33 a.m. for failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway. The cited driver was operating a 2007 Toyota Prius eastbound on Main Street when he failed to negotiate a turn onto Route 154 and struck a curb and a sign post. No injuries were reported or observed.

Monday, Dec. 19
No arrests were made.
• An 18 year-old Clinton woman was issued a citation at 11:46 a.m. for failure to maintain a reasonable distance apart after the 2004 Volvo XC70 she was operating northbound on Route 153 near South Winds Drive struck the rear of a 2007 Saab 9-3 operated by a 69 year-old Madison woman who had slowed to make a left turn onto South Winds Drive. Neither driver claimed any injuries. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
Tuesday, Dec. 20
No arrests were made.
• An 85 year-old man of Highland Terrace in Ivoryton was issued a citation at 2:35 p.m. for failure to yield right of way at an intersection after the 2011 Toyota Camry he was operating through the intersection of Route 153 and Cross Lane collided with a 2010 Mazda operated by a 47 year-old Old Saybrook woman. All parties involved were transported to Middlesex Hospital Shoreline Medical Clinic in Westbrook after complaining of minor pain.
Wednesday, Dec. 21
• A 20 year-old man of Old Boston Post Road was arrested at 6:15 a.m. and charged with criminal mischief in the second degree, conspiracy to commit criminal mischief in the second degree, and having weapons in a motor vehicle.
• A 51 year-old man of Cinnamon Ridge Road was issued a warning at 9:55 p.m. for making an unsafe move from a stopped or standing position after the 2012 Nissan Murano he was operating westbound on Westbrook Road in Centerbrook struck the rear of a 2012 Hyundai Sonata operated by a 33 year-old Clinton woman who was stopped at a red traffic light. No injuries were reported or observed.
Thursday, Dec. 22 to Friday, Dec. 23

Saturday, Dec. 24
• A 27 year-old man of Birch Mill Trail was arrested at 8:35 p.m. and charged with disorderly conduct. A verbal argument escalated to a physical confrontation when a male party kicked a piece of furniture towards another family member. No injuries were reported. The disorderly conduct charge was made because the accused “acted in a tumultuous and aggressive manner that cause fear and alarm,” according to the written police report. The accused was processed on a $1,500 non-surety bond.
Sunday, Dec. 25

• A 35 year-old Deep River man was issued a citation at 5:48 a.m. for failure to drive right and traveling too fast for conditions. He was operating a 2002 Oldsmobile Intrigue on Main Street with a 34 year-old female passenger onboard when he lost control of the vehicle and struck a telephone pole at the intersection of Falls River Drive. Both the driver and the passenger received minor injuries.
• A 61 year-old Middletown woman was issued a written warning at 7:01 a.m. for traveling too fast for conditions after she lost control of the 1998 Volvo S70 she was operating in icy conditions and went down an embankment. She had a 68 year-old man passenger onboard. Minor injuries were reported.

Tuesday, Dec. 27
• A 49 year-old man of Summit Street in Ivoryton was arrested at 1:10 a.m. and charged with assault in the third degree, two counts of risk of injury to a minor, and two counts of disorderly conduct. He was processed on a $25,000 surety bond. The alleged victims were a 48 year-old woman and two teenagers, ages 14 and 16.
Wednesday, Dec. 28

• A 32 year-old man of Sunset Terrace was issued a misdemeanor summons at 1:46 a.m. for evading responsibility in the operation of a motor vehicle (fleeing the scene of an accident) and failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway following a one-vehicle crash in which a 2004 Toyota 4Runner struck an SNET pole. The driver then fled the scene. Once located, the evading driver stated that he was traveling home from work in Guilford, traveling eastbound on Route 153, when he fell asleep and struck a utility pole. The driver stated that he did not stop because he was scared and “out of it.”

The theft of a motor vehicle from in front of a residence on South Main Street was investigated at 6:25 a.m. A 2013 Toyota RAV4 was stolen sometime between 9:45 p.m. on Dec. 29 and 6 a.m. Nothing was heard during the overnight hours by the owner or neighbors. The vehicle was left unlocked and a key fob was left in the center console. Anyone with information about this theft is asked to contact the Essex Resident Trooper’s Office.
• A 76 year-old woman of River Road was issued a written warning at 4:37 p.m. for failure to grant right of way from a private driveway after the 2005 Porsche Cayenne she was operating collided with a 2011 Honda CR-V operated by a 59 year-old woman of Oakledge Drive in Ivoryton.

• The theft of a black 2005 Ford Expedition bearing CT registration plate MGD93 was investigated at 4:37 a.m. The vehicle was taken from 5 Keyboard Lane sometime between 8 p.m. on Jan. 5 and 4 a.m. on Jan. 6. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact Troop F at 860-399-2100. All calls will be kept confidential.

• A one-vehicle crash was investigated on Bokum Road at 4:26 a.m. A 28 year-old Old Saybrook man was operating a 2003 Ford F350 Super Duty pick-up truck northbound on Bokum Road when he lost control in snowy conditions, slid off the roadway, and struck a tree causing disabling damage to the vehicle. No injuries were reported or observed. No enforcement action was indicated in the press report.
• A 20 year-old Deep River man was issued a citation at 7:21 a.m. for traveling too fast for conditions after the 2007 Toyota Prius he was operating southbound on Westbrook Road near Main Street in the Centerbrook section of town veered left across the northbound lane and struck a utility pole. He was transported to the Middlesex Hospital Shoreline Medical Clinic for treatment of a minor cut sustained in the crash.

Saturday, Dec. 17
• A 26 year-old man of a Main Street apartment was arrested at 11:04 p.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs following the report of a suspicious incident at the Cumberland Farms gas station. State police were advised that someone appeared to be sleeping in a truck for about 10 minutes. When troopers arrived they observed a gray Chevy Silverado pick-up truck parked in one of the parking spots with the driver’s side tires partially outside the white parking stall line. The drive was sitting in the driver’s seat with the key in the ignition and the engine idling. Upon speaking with the driver police observed bloodshot eyes and detected the odor of alcoholic beverage coming from within the vehicle. The driver then agreed to a standardized field sobriety test, which he failed.

Saturday, Dec. 24
• A 52 year-old man of Main Street was arrested at 3:48 p.m. on a warrant charging him with failure to appear in the second degree. The warrant was discovered when the accused was involved in a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Union Street and Route 80.
• A 52 year-old man of Main Street was issued a verbal warning at 3:11 p.m. for failure to grant right away at an intersection after the 2008 Chrysler 300 Limited collided with a 2014 Ford F150 operated by a 50 year-old Chester man. No injuries were reported or observed.

• A 40 year-old Ivoryton man was issued a written warning at 10:37 a.m. for failure to maintain a reasonable distance apart after the 2010 Subaru Impreza he was operating on Main Street struck the rear of a 2002 Audi A4 operated by a 22 year-old Chester man had slowed to make a left turn into the Dunkin Donuts parking lot. No injuries were reported or observed.

Sunday, Jan. 8
• A 26 year-old New Britain man was arrested at 1:16 a.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, reckless driving, and failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway.
• A one-vehicle crash was investigated on Glen Grove Road at 2:20 p.m. A 16 year-old Ivoryton boy was operating a 2001 Acura southbound of Westbrook Road when he lost control of the vehicle on the snow covered roadway and struck a tree located off the east shoulder of the roadway. The operator complained of neck pain and was transported by ambulance to the Middlesex Hospital Shoreline Medical Clinic in Westbrook for evaluation. No enforcement action was indicated in the press report.

• A 68 year-old Wallingford man was issued a citation at 4:45 p.m. for failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway. She fell asleep while operating a 2004 Chrysler PT Cruiser and struck a wire rope guard rail. Although the vehicle sustained substantial damage the driver was not injured.
