Police Incident Report for Nov. 23 to 29


The Valley Courier publishes a Police Incident Report to inform residents of incidents, criminal activities, and police responses occurring in the towns of Essex, Deep River, and Chester. As those charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty, the report does not include names. It may be edited for space and content.

Essex

Wednesday, Nov. 23, to Thursday, Nov. 24

Friday, Nov. 25

• A 34-year-old Clinton woman was arrested at 11:56 p.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, evading responsibility in the operation of a motor vehicle (fleeing the scene of an accident), and failure to drive right. The accused was operating a 2007 Subaru Legacy on West Avenue one-tenth of a mile east of West Main Street when she struck the rear of a parked and unoccupied 2015 Audi A6. She then backed up and drove away.

Chester

• An unidentified person was issued a citation at 8:24 p.m. for speeding and possession of less than half an ounce of marijuana following a motor vehicle stop for speeding. When the trooper spoke with the driver, he detected an odor of marijuana emanating from inside the vehicle. The trooper then found a marijuana-like substance inside the vehicle that tested positive for marijuana.

Thursday, Nov. 24, to Sunday, Nov. 27

No arrests were made.

Monday, Nov. 28

• A 26-year-old Bristol man was arrested at 12:06 a.m. on a warrant charging him with criminal impersonation, interfering with an officer, operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension, and speeding.

Tuesday, Nov. 29

No arrests were made.
