Police Incident Report for Aug. 3 to 16


The Source publishes a Police Incident Report to inform residents of incidents, criminal activities, and police responses occurring in Madison and Killingworth. As those charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty, the report does not include names. It may be edited for space and content.

Madison

Wednesday, Aug. 3

• A 58 year-old Guilford man was arrested at 3 p.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs following a motor vehicle stop on Durham Road at Lyle Drive. This is the accused’s second arrest for driving while under the influence.

• A 46 year-old Killingworth man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 11:43 for operating a motor vehicle without insurance and operating an unregistered motor vehicle.

• A motor vehicle accident without injuries was reported on Durham Road at Goat Lot Road at 6:41 a.m.

• A motor vehicle accident with injuries was investigated on Boston Post Road at Neck Road at 8:33 a.m.

• A motor vehicle accident without injuries was reported on Durham Road near Old Route 79 at 2:16 p.m.

• A domestic dispute was investigated on Wall Street at 7:51 p.m.

• A motor vehicle accident in which the offending driver evaded the scene was investigated on Neck Road at Pleasant View Avenue at 9:11 p.m.

Thursday, Aug. 4

No arrests were made.

• A motor vehicle accident on private property in which the offending driver evaded the scene was investigated at 21 Rockledge Drive at 6:53 p.m.

• A theft was investigated at 14 Thelbridge Street at 5:22 p.m.

Friday, Aug. 5

• A 54 year-old man of North Hampshire Road was arrested at 3:32 p.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, failure to appear in the second degree, and two counts of failure to appear in the first degree.

• A motor vehicle accident on private property was investigated at 94 West Wharf Road at 3:04 p.m.

Saturday, Aug. 6

No arrests were made.

• Harassment was investigated at 11 Hamilton Drive at 10:27 a.m.

Sunday, Aug. 7

• A 29 year-old Middletown man was arrested at 11:25 and charged with threatening in the second degree.

• A motor vehicle accident on private property was investigated at 2318 Durham Road at 12:58 a.m.

• A breach of peace incident was investigated at 89 West Wharf Road at 2:48 a.m.

Monday, Aug. 8

• A 41 year-old Clinton man was arrested at 2:50 p.m. and charged with breach of peace following a disturbance at 138 Samson Rock Drive.

• A complaint about fraud was investigated at 19 White Oaks Lane at 11:22 a.m.

• A theft involving vehicle accessories was investigated at 191 Boston Post Road at 1 p.m.

• A complaint about threatening was investigated at 52 Madison Avenue at 9:30 p.m.

• A motor vehicle accident without injuries was investigated on Cedar Croft Drive at Durham Road at 5:54 p.m.

Tuesday, Aug. 9

No arrests were made.

• An animal nuisance was investigated at 117 Nod Road at 11:51 p.m.

• A complaint about an unwanted person was investigated at 31 Brantwood Drive at 4:15 p.m.

• The theft of a motor vehicle (take without the owner’s permission) was investigated at 168 Nortontown Road at 8:40 p.m.

• A theft from a residence was investigated at 23 Dream Lake Drive at 7 p.m.

Wednesday, Aug. 10

No arrests were made.

• A 36 year-old man of Boston Post Road was issued a misdemeanor summons at 10:06 a.m. for operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension.

• A structure fire was reported at 64 Neck Road at 10:07 a.m.

• A motor vehicle accident without injuries was investigated on Durham Road at Old Toll Road at 1:07 p.m.

• Harassment was investigated at 198 Devonshire Lane at 3:12 p.m.

• A complaint about fraud was investigated at 20 Walnut Hill Road at 7:50 p.m.

• A motor vehicle accident with injuries was investigated on Britton Lane at Boston Post Road at 4:12 p.m.

• Harassment was investigated at 1727 Durham Road at 5:33 p.m.

Thursday, Aug. 11

• A 33 year-old man of Yankee Peddle River was arrested at 5 a.m. and charged with larceny in the first degree.

Friday, Aug. 12

No arrests were made.

• A 32 year-old Danielson man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 11:28 a.m. for operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension, operating a motor vehicle without insurance, and failure to use a seat belt in the front seat.

• A complaint about fraud was investigated at 180 Warpas Road at 5:49 p.m.

Saturday, Aug. 13

No arrests were made.

• An unwanted person complaint was investigated at 71 Mungertown Road at 4:37 a.m.

• Criminal mischief was investigated on private property at 59 Green Springs Drive at 8:22 a.m.

• A domestic dispute was investigated at a location on Boston Post Road at 9:15 a.m.

• A littering violation was investigated at 16 Yankee Glen Road at 2:37 p.m.

• A brush fire was investigated on Green Hill Road at Warpas Road at 10:30 p.m.

• A structure fire was investigated at 300 Neck Road at 10:33 p.m.

Sunday, Aug. 14

No arrests were made.

• A motor vehicle accident on private property was investigated at 96 Wall Street at 4:47 p.m.

• A motor vehicle accident on private property was investigated at 633 Boston Post Road at 9:02 p.m.

Monday, Aug. 15

No arrests were made.

• A trauma case requiring medical attention was reported at 59 Paper Hill Drive at 11:50 a.m.

• A motor vehicle accident without injuries was reported on Bradley rive at Durham Road at 3:22 p.m.

• A domestic dispute was investigated at a location on Opening Hill Road at 6:36 p.m.

• Neighbor trouble was investigated at 1334 Boston Post Road at 8:35 p.m.

Tuesday, Aug. 16

No arrests were made.

• A complaint about an attempted theft was investigated at 613 Boston Post Road at 9:42 a.m.

Wednesday, Aug. 3

Thursday, Aug. 4

No arrests were made.

• A motor vehicle accident was investigated on Reservoir Road by 3 Old Deep River Turnpike at 1:15 a.m. A 22 year-old man of Blueberry Hill Reservoir was operating a 2010 Infinity Ex35 eastbound on Reservoir Road when he crossed the solid line and attempted to pass a 1997 Chevrolet Lumina operated by a 19 year-old woman of Reservoir Road. The vehicles struck mirrors causing minor damage. No injuries were reported or observed and no enforcement action was indicated in the police report.

Friday, Aug. 5

No arrests were made.

• Police investigated a motor vehicle accident on Kelseytown Road at 11:57 p.m. A 19 year-old man of Kelseytown Road was operating a 1998 Chevrolet K3500 northbound on Kelseytown Road near Tower Hill Road when he lost control of the vehicle while negotiating a right curve, exited the roadway, and struck a utility pole. No injuries were reported or observed. The vehicle was towed by Oceanside Auto because of disabling damage. No enforcement action was indicated in the police report.

• A complaint about threatening was investigated on Blueberry Hill Reserve at 10:38 a.m. A 34 year-old white male reported that he was threatened by his father-in-law while he was at the residence on Blueberry Hill picking up his son. The complainant left the property and drove to the Troop F barracks to report the incident.

Monday, Aug. 8 to Wednesday, Aug. 10

No arrests were made.

Thursday, Aug. 11

No arrests were made.

• A 23 year-old man of Route 148 was issued a written warning at 12:32 p.m. for failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway after he lost control of the 2012 Ford Focus he was operating eastbound on Route 148 near Stonehill Road while reaching for an item and struck a utility pole. No injuries were reported or observed.

Friday, Aug. 12 to Tuesday, Aug. 16

No arrests were made.
