• A 19 year-old man of Old Mine Road was issued a citation at 8:09 p.m. for failure to drive right and traveling too fast for conditions. He was operating a 1974 Chevrolet Corvette eastbound on Route 148 west of Birch Mill Road when he lost control of the vehicle, which entered into the westbound shoulder, struck a mailbox, rolled over, and came to rest on its roof in the westbound lane and shoulder. The operator and his 18 year-old male passenger of Blue Hills Road refused transportation by EMS. The classic car was towed from the scene.

Tuesday, July 19

No arrests were made.

• A motor vehicle crash was investigated at 3:44 p.m. A 71 year-old woman of Schnoor Road was operating a 2014 Toyota Prius eastbound on Old County Road when a vehicle traveling on the wrong side of the road caused her to swerve to the right, exit the roadway, and strike a tree. She was unable to provide a description of the offending vehicle. No injuries were reported or observed. The Prius was towed by Atwoods.

Friday, July 29

No arrests were made.

• A 40 year-old Branford woman was issued a written warning at 7:58 a.m. for failure to grant right of way at an intersection after the 2008 Toyota Highlander she was operating eastbound on Stevens Road struck the driver side door of a 2001 Toyota Rav4 operated by a 58 year-old Clinton woman. The operators of both vehicles were transported to Yale Shoreline Clinic in Guilford for evaluation.
