Police Incident Report for June 2 to 8


The Guilford Courier publishes a Police Incident Report to inform residents of incidents, criminal activities, and police responses occurring in town. As those charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty, the report does not include names. It may be edited for space and content.

Thursday, May 19

• A 20 year-old man of Grist Mill Circle was arrested at 1:59 p.m. and charged with disorderly conduct, assault in the third degree, threatening in the second degree, unlawful restraint in the first degree, criminal mischief in the second degree, and reckless endangerment in the second degree. The arrest was made following a domestic dispute.

• A complaint about identification fraud with a credit card was investigated at 244 Village Pond Road at 7 a.m.

• A complaint about identification fraud was investigated at 318 Briarwood Drive at 5:17 p.m.

• A landlord/tenant dispute was investigated at 1196 West Lake Avenue at 9:15 p.m. The complainant stated that the landlord has been entering the house without permission.

Friday, May 20

No arrests were made.

• A breach of peace complaint was investigated at 4000 Durham Road (Lake Quonnipaug) at 3:03 p.m. A complaint reported that a 45 year-old white male, six feet tall with long grey hair, was standing on the dock screaming at all the high school crew team members.

• Neighbor trouble was investigated at 125 Little Meadow Road at 6:48 p.m.

Saturday, May 21

No arrests were made.

• An animal nuisance was reported on the 1100 block of Hoop Pole Road at 8:33 a.m. A complainant reported that a neighbor’s dog had been barking since 7 a.m.

• A theft was investigated at 316 Little Meadow Road at 6:16 p.m.

Sunday, May 22

No arrests were made.

Monday, May 23

No arrests were made.

• A theft was investigated at 1153 Boston Post Road at 3:04 p.m. A wallet was taken.

Tuesday, May 24

No arrests were made.

Wednesday, May 25

• A 29 year-old Madison man was arrested at 11:30 a.m. and charged with breach of peace in the second degree and assault in the second degree.

• A 24 year-old woman of South Fair Street was arrested at 1:25 p.m. and charged with disorderly conduct.

• A breach of peace/simple assault incident was investigated at 1099 Boston Post Road at 8:40 a.m. A man reported being struck in the face. The ambulance was dispatched for on-site medical evaluation.

• A domestic dispute was investigated on Rock Point Lane at 11:51 a.m. A verbal argument was reported between the complainant and a child’s mother. The ambulance was dispatched for on-site medical evaluation.

• A breach of peace incident was investigated at 72 Decatur Avenue at 1:11 p.m. A mailman and a landscaper exchanged words.

Thursday, May 26

• A 49 year-old Durham man was arrested at 3 p.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

• Baby raccoons were reported in the roadway on the 400 block of Church Street at 4:28 p.m. The animals were gone by the time police arrived.

• Harassment via text was investigated at 920 Little Meadow Road at 4:49 p.m.

Friday, May 27

No arrests were made.

• A complaint about fraud involving a bank account was investigated at 50 Autumn Ridge Drive at 3:35 p.m.

Saturday, May 28

No arrests were made.

• A noise complaint was investigated on Water Street at 12:35 a.m. An anonymous caller reported a loud crowd in front and in back of the nearby bar.

• A noise complaint was investigated on the 200 block of Valley Shore Drive at 2:25 a.m. An anonymous caller reported a loud party in the area.

• A noise complaint was investigated at 66 High Street at 6:26 a.m. A neighbor reported that construction work commenced before 7 a.m.

• Harassment was investigated on Russo Drive at 10:09 a.m. The male complainant reported being harassment by his ex-wife via phone.

• Harassment was investigated on the 400 block of Boston Street at 10:29 a.m.

• A complaint about fraud was investigated at 77 Lakeside Drive at 12:23 p.m.

• Harassment was investigated on Bullard Drive at 12:38 p.m.

• An animal nuisance was investigated at 65 Whitfield Street at 1:25 p.m. A sick rabbit was placed in a box.

• A shoplifting incident was investigated at 1116 Boston Post Road at 9:16 p.m.

Sunday, May 29

• A 22 year-old Branford man was arrested at 3:28 a.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and speeding following a motor vehicle stop.

• A shoplifting incident was investigated at 1919 Boston Post Road at 12:23 p.m. A female was recorded on video stealing shoes at 11:41 a.m.

• A suicide attempt was investigated at 2:20 p.m.

• A theft was investigated at 320 Boston Post Road at 8:26 p.m. The complainant reported that his girlfriend used his debt card and took his iPad.

• A noise complaint involving loud music and talking was investigated on Shore Drive at 10:07 p.m. The homeowner was contacted and said he would turn the music down for the small gathering.

Monday, May 30

No arrests were made.

• A complainant reported finding drugs by the playground at Jacobs Beach at 8:28 p.m.

• A drug control/welfare check was made on Sperry Drive at 10:37 p.m. The complainant reported that he found syringes and suboxone on his daughter.

Tuesday, May 31 to Wednesday, June 1

No arrests were made.

Thursday, June 2

No arrests were made.

• An animal nuisance was reported at 12:57 p.m. A female reported that her mom had struck a baby skunk on the 500 block of Route 80.

• An animal nuisance was reported at 8:14 p.m. at 100 Granite Road. A raccoon was spotted walking around with a jar on its head.

Friday, June 3

No arrests were made.

• Neighbor trouble was investigated at 44 Coventry Way at 10:46 p.m.

• A theft of money was investigated at Guilford High School at 8:30 a.m.

Saturday, June 4

• A 23 year-old Killingworth man was arrested at 4:02 a.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and failure to drive upon the right in a restricted lane.

• A domestic dispute was investigated on the 2400 block of Boston Post Road at 1:35 a.m. A male was arguing with a female and threatening to assault her.

• A domestic dispute was investigated on Marshall Avenue at 1:58 a.m. The complainant reported hearing a male and a female arguing for a half hour.

• Harassment was investigated on Boston Terrace at 8:44 a.m.

• Harassment via cyber bullying on Instagram was investigated on Pearl Street at 1:14 a.m.

Sunday, June 5

• A 51 year-old man of Grove Hill Road was arrested at 3:48 p.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

• An animal nuisance was reported at 622 Towner Swamp Road at 12:33 p.m. A caller reported that a raccoon had its head stuck in a jar.

Monday, June 6

No arrests were made.

• An animal nuisance was investigated at 166 Northwood Drive at 2:55 p.m. A ground hog was stuck in a net in the yard.

• A complaint about fraud was investigated at 37 Orchard View Road at 6 p.m.

• A theft was investigated at 379 Whitfield Street at 7:39 p.m.

Tuesday, June 7

• A 32 year-old North Haven woman was arrested at 9:49 a.m. and charged with possession less than four ounces of marijuana.

• A 58 year-old woman of Cornfield Lane was arrested at 10:21 p.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and failure to obey a traffic control signal.

Wednesday, June 8

• A 31 year-old man of Lakeside Drive was arrested at 6:37 p.m. and charged with interfering with a 911 emergency call and disorderly conduct following a domestic dispute.

• A complaint about fraud was investigated at 231 Colonial Road at 3:20 p.m.

• A complaint about identity fraud was investigated at 130 Lovers Lane at 4:52 p.m.
