Police Incident Report for June 1 to 7


The Harbor News publishes a Police Incident Report to inform residents of incidents, criminal activities, and police responses occurring in the towns of Clinton, Westbrook, and Old Saybrook. As those charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty, the report does not include names. It may be edited for space and content.

Clinton

Wednesday, June 1

No arrests were made.

• A domestic dispute was investigated on Old Mill Road at 11:17 p.m.

Thursday, June 2

• A 59 year-old Chester man was arrested at 8:13 a.m. on a warrant charging him with sale, delivery, or transfer of pistols or revolvers without a dealer’s license.

• A larceny was investigated on Killingworth Turnpike at 11:12 a.m.

• Harassment was investigated on Glenwood Road at 11:53 a.m.

• Theft by shoplifting was investigated on Killingworth Turnpike at 2:04 p.m.

• A complaint about identity theft was investigated on East Main Street at 2:31 p.m.

• A larceny was investigated on Killingworth Turnpike at 5:03 p.m.

Friday, June 3

No arrests were made.

• A larceny was investigated on Glenwood Road at 10:12 a.m.

• A larceny was investigated on Bluff Avenue at 7:59 p.m.

Saturday, June 4

No arrests were made.

• A 26 year-old Middletown man was issued a citation at 10:30 p.m. for possession of less than one-half ounce of marijuana and use or possession of drug paraphernalia containing less than one-half ounce of marijuana following a motor vehicle stop on North High Street at Nod Road.

• A 21 year-old Glastonbury man was issued a citation at 10:49 p.m. for possession of less than one-half ounce of marijuana, use or possession of drug paraphernalia containing less than one-half ounce of marijuana, and operating an unregistered motor vehicle following a motor vehicle stop on East Main Street at Commerce Street.

• A noise complaint was investigated on Rocky Ledge Drive at 2:51 p.m.

• A domestic dispute was investigated on Evergreen Drive at 10:37 p.m.

Sunday, June 5

No arrests were made.

• Criminal mischief was investigated on Airline Road near Cow Hill Road at 10:10 a.m.

• Complaints about animals were investigated on Sunnybrook Lane at 11:36 a.m. and on Willow Lane at 12:56 p.m.

Monday, June 6

• A 39 year-old Manchester man was arrested at 7:31 p.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs following a motor vehicle stop on Sterling Drive.

• A neighbor dispute was investigated on Ninety Rod Road at 9 a.m.

• A complaint about threatening was investigated on Lafayette Green Road at 9:17 a.m.

Tuesday, June 7

• A 49 year-old man of Pearl Street was arrested at 4:57 a.m. on a warrant charging him with criminal violation of a restraining order, breach of peace in the second degree, and threatening.

• As reported at Zip06.com, a 21 year-old man of Brooklyn, New York and a 39 year-old Hamden woman were arrested at 3:27 p.m. and charged with credit card theft, illegal use of a credit card, unlawful reproduction of a credit card, larceny in the fifth degree, conspiracy to commit larceny in the fifth degree, receipt of stolen goods by illegal credit, and risk of injury to a minor. Both were released after posting $10,000 bonds. The accused parties used fraudulent credit cards at Clinton Crossings while they had a three year-old child in their presence. Officers located numerous fraudulent credit cards on the suspects and in their vehicle. The cards were recognized as counterfeit as the embossed name and number on the front of the card did not match the name and number on the magnetic strip. Officers located seven fraudulent credit cards in the man’s name and nine credit cards in the woman’s name. Officers also located 11 blank credit cards with no embossing and no information on the magnetic strip. These cards had bank names and MasterCard logos, but stolen information had not yet been embedded onto the cards. Officers also located property and receipts from stores in Connecticut and New York where the stolen cards had been used to make purchases. In some cases the merchandise was returned for cash or gift cards. Officers located 17 gift cards. An alert store clerk aided police by advising mall security who in turn called police.

• A 49 year-old man of Pearl Street was arrested at 7:40 p.m. on a warrant charging him with failure to appear in the first degree.

• A 60 year-old man and a 46 year-old man of the same West Main Street address were arrested at 8:02 p.m. under the Domestic Violence Act. Each party was charged with assault in the third degree and breach of peace. In the same incident a 42 year-old woman of the same residence and a 50 year-old woman of a neighboring address were charged with creating a public disturbance.

• A larceny was investigated on West Main Street at 8:25 p.m.

• A noise complaint was investigated on Center Road at Hammock Parkway.

• Criminal mischief was investigated on Riverside Drive at 9:20 p.m.

Westbrook

Wednesday, June 1

No arrests were made.

• A 41 year-old New Haven man was issued a citation at 8:13 p.m. and charged with failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway and operating a motor vehicle without a driver’s license after he lost control of the 2002 Chevy Express he was operating and struck a metal beam guardrail.

Thursday, June 2 to Sunday, June 5

No arrests were made.

Monday, June 6

• A 48 year-old woman of Oak Drive was arrested at 2:42 p.m. and charged with breach of peace in the second degree.

Tuesday, June 7

Friday, June 3

• A 25 year-old Branford man was arrested at 9:16 a.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway, and failure to carry proof of insurance and registration following a motor vehicle stop on Boston Post Road.

• A 41 year-old Deep River man was arrested at 9:56 p.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and traveling unreasonably fast on Middlesex Turnpike.

• A 46 year-old man of Coulter Street was issued a citation at 8:02 p.m. for possession of less than one-half ounce of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia containing less than one-half ounce of marijuana following a motor vehicle stop on Boston Post Road at Orchard Street.

Saturday, June 4

• A 27 year-old woman of Devonshire Lane was arrested at 4:04 a.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, possession of less than one-half ounce of marijuana, and use of possession of drug paraphernalia containing less than one-half ounce of marijuana following a motor vehicle stop on Boston Post Road.

• A 29 year-old woman of Second Avenue was arrested at 5:19 p.m. for disorderly conduct under the Domestic Violence Act, risk of injury to a minor, and interfering with a 911 emergency call.

• A 17 year-old was arrested at 5:19 p.m. and charged with disorderly conduct under the Domestic Violence Act. The juvenile was processed and released into the custody of the juvenile’s guardian.

Sunday, June 5

No arrests were made.

• A 22 year-old Mystic man was issued a citation at 1:24 a.m. for possession of drug paraphernalia containing less than one-half ounce of marijuana and failure to obey a control signal following a motor vehicle stop on Mill Rock Road East at Boston Post Road.

Monday, June 6

No arrests were made.

• A 19 year-old Ivoryton man was issued a citation at 2:36 a.m. for possession of drug paraphernalia containing less then one-half ounce of marijuana and failure to have tail lamps following a motor vehicle stop on Boston Post Road.

Tuesday, June 7

No arrests were made.

From June 1 to 7, Old Saybrook police issued three citations to motorists for failure to wear a seat belt in the front seat, two citations for operating a motor vehicle without a driver’s license, and one citation for operating an unregistered motor vehicle.
