• A 20 year-old Waterford woman was issued a verbal warning at 3:30 p.m. for failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway. She was operating a 1997 Mazda 628 DXL when she became drowsy, drifted out of the travel lane, and struck a 2015 Chevy Equinox operated by a 79 year-old Bristol man. No injuries were reported or observed and both vehicles were driven from the scene.

• The theft of a chainsaw from an unlocked shed behind a Mitchel Circle residence was investigated at 6:03 p.m. The chainsaw, a Husqvarna model 44, was valued at $300. Nothing else was disturbed or removed from the shed.

• A 32 year-old Chester man was issued a citation at 6:49 p.m. for operating a motor vehicle without a driver’s license and failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway. He was operating a 2001 Nissan Pathfinder northbound on Route 153 near Mares Hill Road when he drifted into the southbound lane and collided with a 2015 Subaru Outback operated by a 56 year-old man of Windemere Way in Ivoryton. The operator of the Subaru was transported to the Middlesex Hospital Shoreline Medical Center in Westbrook for evaluation.

• At 10:17 p.m. police reported that a 24 year-old Niantic man was operating a 1991 Acura Legend on Route 154 at Route 9 exit 4 when he lost control of the vehicle and struck a wire rope guardrail after he accelerated to avoid a police stop. Following the crash the accused fled the scene, engaging police in pursuit and evading arrest. The vehicle was identified by a registration plate left at the scene of the crash and the operator was also identified. The vehicle was located abandoned and the accused was wanted by police at press time.

• A 47 year-old South Windsor man was issued a written warning at 7:43 a.m. for failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway following a two vehicle crash on Deep River Road.
• A 39 year-old woman of Saybrook Road was issued a citation at 1:02 p.m. for failure to grant right of way to on-coming traffic when making a left turn after the 2008 Toyota 4Runner she was operating northbound on Saybrook Road collided with a 2010 Mazda operated by a 26 year-old East Haddam woman. No injuries were reported or observed.

• A 29 year-old Deep River man was arrested at 10:21 p.m. and charged with risk of injury to a minor, criminal mischief in the second degree, disorderly conduct, and two counts of assault in the third degree. He was processed on a $25,000 bond.

• A 52 year-old woman of Main Street in Ivoryton was issued a written warning at 5:58 p.m. for failure to drive a reasonable distance apart after the 2002 Saab 9-3 SE she was operating northbound on Route 153 into the Westbrook Road intersection struck the rear of a 2010 Jeep Grand Cherokee operated by a 41 year-old Chester man. No injuries were reported or observed and both vehicles were driven from the scene.
• A 79 year-old Lyme man was issued a written warning at 6:10 p.m. for failure to obey a stop sign after the 2006 Toyota Prius he was operating southbound on Route 621 at the Route 153 intersection collided with a 2011 Ford Escape operated by a 74 year-old woman of Bokum Road. No injuries were reported or observed and both vehicles were driven from the scene.

Friday, May 20
• A 32 year-old East Hartford man was arrested at 8:30 p.m. and charged with operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension, having a defective muffler, and failure to have tail lamps following a motor vehicle stop on Main Street in Centerbrook. He was processed and released after posting a $500 cash bond.

• A theft of several rings from a dresser drawer was investigated on River Road at 11:45 a.m. No forced entry to the residence was observed. Numerous workers had access to the residence during the time in question.

Tuesday, May 31
• A warrant held by Mohegan Sun Tribal Police for the arrest of a woman on Highland Terrace in Ivoryton was executed at 5:15 p.m. The woman, who was not identified in the available police public record, was arrested and transported by Connecticut State Police Troop F personnel to the Mohegan Sun Tribal Police for processing.

• A 22 year-old Pawcatuck man was issued a citation at 9:44 a.m. for failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway after the 1996 Geo Metro he was operating drifted off the travel lane of road and struck a wire rope guardrail. No injuries were reported or observed. The vehicle sustained extensive damage.
• A 22 year-old Ivoryton man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 10:03 p.m. for misuse of plate, operating a motor vehicle without insurance, and failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway. The accused was operating a 1998 Mazda B3000 southbound on Cedar Lake Road near Route 80 when the vehicle suffered a malfunction in its brake system, went off the right side of the roadway, and struck a tree. No injuries were reported or observed.

• At 8:05 p.m. troopers reported that a 34 year-old Westbrook man was operating a 2004 Toyota Tacoma southbound on Cedar Lake Road when he drifted off the roadway, struck a tree, and rolled the vehicle over. The operator, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, was transported to an unspecified medical facility for evaluation. No charges were indicated since the case was still under investigation at the time of the report.

• A 27 year-old woman of Oak Ridge Drive was issued a citation at 1:33 p.m. for failure to drive a reasonable distance apart after the 2004 Honda CR-V EX she was operating on Route 145 at the Route 80 intersection struck a 2014 Volkswagen Jetta operated by a 36 year-old woman of Santa Rite, Guam.

Saturday, April 30
• A 27 year-old man of Main Street was arrested at 2:35 a.m. and charged with criminal mischief in the third degree, use or possession of drug paraphernalia, and disorderly conduct. The arrest was made following an investigation into a disturbance between a man and a woman in the parking lot of 391 Main Street. The accused punched a window out of the woman’s vehicle. The accused stated that he had been drinking and had used heroin earlier in the day. The woman stated that the accused had a needle with orange end caps that he threw, when police arrived, by a Dumpster near her vehicle. Police found a hypodermic needle with orange end caps exactly where the woman said it would be. During a search of the woman’s vehicle (she gave troopers permission to search her black 2003 Pontiac Vibe) troopers found a small glassine baggie that contained a white powdery residue. The accused admitted the syringe and baggie were his and that he had take heroin several hours prior. The residual contents of the baggie tested positive for heroin. The accused was processed and released on a $1,000 non-surety bond and issued a May 2 court date.
• A 42 year-old man of Winter Avenue was arrested at 4:32 p.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, evading responsibility in the operation of a motor vehicle (fleeing the scene of an accident), tampering with a ignition interlock device, failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway, and operating a motor vehicle without a driver’s license. He was processed on a surety $5,000 bond. The arrest was made following a motor vehicle accident involving four vehicles. He then fled the scene on foot. Police found him a short while late. A passenger of one of the involved vehicles was transported to the Middlesex Hospital Shoreline Medical Clinic for treatment of minor injuries sustained in the crash. All four vehicles were towed from the scene.

• A 21 year-old Wolcott woman was arrested at 6:45 p.m. and charged with reckless driving.
• A 19 year-old Newington man was arrested at 8:03 p.m. and charged with reckless driving and possession of alcohol by a minor on a public street or highway.
Saturday, May 28
• A 21 year-old Madison man was arrested at 1:27 a.m. and charged with interfering with an officer, breach of peace in the second degree, and assault in the third degree following a fight at 132 River Road. In the same incident a 22 year-old Branford man was charged with breach of peace in the second degree. Both men were transported to Middlesex Hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in fight.

• A 41 year-old New Britain man was arrested at 10:49 a.m. and charged with reckless driving. He was processed and released after posting a $1,000 surety bond and was issued a May 6 court date.
• A 52 year-old Higganum man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 6:28 a.m. for evading responsibility in the operation of a motor vehicle (fleeing the scene of an accident), operating a motor vehicle without insurance, and failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway. The accused fled the scene on foot after the crash, but was quickly located.

Tuesday, April 26
• A 49 year-old Moodus man was arrested at 5:29 p.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, disobeying the signal of an officer, and failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway. He was processed and released on a $5,000 non-surety bond. Police reported that the driver was so highly intoxicated that he was unable to stand on his own and was unable to safely perform a standardized field sobriety test. He was issued a May 12 court date.

• A 22 year-old man Ivoryton man was arrested at 2:56 p.m. and charged with reckless driving and operating a motor vehicle without insurance. He was processed and released on a $2,500 non-surety bond and issued a May 11 court date.

• A 54 year-old man of Pleasant Street was issued a written warning at 9:55 a.m. for failure to drive right after he lost control of the Volvo V70 he was operating on West Main Street and struck a utility pole. The operator received minor injuries, but refused medical attention.

• A 31 year-old Mystic man was arrested at 8:12 p.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension, and improper parking. He was processed on a $5,000 bond.

• A 48 year-old Hampton woman was issued a written warning at 1:29 p.m. for failure to drive right after the 2016 Nissan Rogue she was operating westbound on West Main Street side-swiped at 2008 Chevy Silverado operated by a 54 year-old Old Saybrook man. No injuries were reported or observed.

• A 24 year-old man of Goose Creek, South Carolina was issued a citation at 1:52 a.m. for failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway after he lost control of the 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer he was operating and struck a wire rope guard rail. No injuries were reported or observed.

• An 18 year-old Torrington man was arrested at 10:15 p.m. and charged with possession of a controlled substance (a narcotic), failure to keep a prescription drug (a narcotic) in its original container, possession of drugs near a school or public housing, and interfering with an officer. In the same incident a 19 year-old Torrington man was charged with possession of a controlled substance (a narcotic), failure to keep a prescription drug (a narcotic) in its original container, use or possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of less than four ounces of marijuana. The men were arrested following a motor vehicle stop for speeding.

• A theft of prescription pills was investigated at 187 Middlesex Avenue at 11:36 a.m. The theft occurred between 6 and 10 p.m. the night before.
