Police Incident Report for May 11 to 17


The Harbor News publishes a Police Incident Report to inform residents of incidents, criminal activities, and police responses occurring in the towns of Clinton, Westbrook, and Old Saybrook. As those charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty, the report does not include names. It may be edited for space and content.

Clinton

Wednesday, May 11

No arrests were made.

• Criminal mischief was investigated on Olde Orchard Road at 9:31 a.m.

• A complaint about identity theft was investigated on Killingworth Turnpike at 2:55 p.m.

Thursday, May 12

No arrests were made.

• Harassment was investigated on Pearl Street at 7 a.m.

• A counterfeiting offense was investigated on East Main Street at 3:09 p.m.

• A structure fire was reported on Killingworth Turnpike at 5:08 p.m.

• Suspicious activity was investigated on Glenwood Road at 8:20 p.m.

Friday, May 13

No arrests were made.

• A 65 year-old Colchester woman was issued a misdemeanor summons at 7:04 p.m. for operating a motor vehicle without insurance, improper use of registration plates, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, and failure to display plate.

Saturday, May 14

• A 46 year-old woman of a Old Post Road apartment was arrested at 2:14 a.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, possession of narcotics, failure to keep a prescription narcotic in its original container, and failure to have tail lamps or illuminated marker plate following a motor vehicle stop on Uncas Road. In the same incident a 20 year-old man of Uncas Road was issued a citation for possession of less than one-half ounce of marijuana.

• A 42 year-old Madison woman was arrested at 11:45 a.m. and charged with larceny in the sixth degree following a shoplifting incident on East Main Street.

Sunday, May 15

No arrests were made.

• An animal bite was reported on East Main Street at 9:19 a.m.

• A complaint about identity theft was investigated on Reservoir Road at 9:29 a.m.

• Harassment was investigated on Kenilworth Drive at 4 p.m.

Monday, May 16

• A 43 year-old East Haven man was arrested at 7:24 a.m. and charged with larceny in the sixth degree following a shoplifting incident on West Main Street.

• A neighbor dispute was investigated on Stony Point Road at 4:22 p.m.

• Harassment was investigated on West Main Street at 7:01 p.m.

Tuesday, May 17

No arrests were made.

• A sex offender registration was investigated on Killingworth Turnpike at 12:24 p.m.

• A larceny was investigated on Merrill Road at 3:29 p.m.

• A larceny was investigated on Riverside Drive at 3:29 p.m.

• A larceny was investigated on Liberty Street at 4:15 p.m.

Westbrook

Wednesday, May 11

• A 24 year-old woman of Cranston, Rhode Island was arrested at 2 p.m. and charged with larceny in the sixth degree. Troopers responded to a call from a manager at the Old Navy Store at the Tanger Outlets regarding a female shoplifter. When police arrived at the scene they located the suspect in the outlet parking lot near her parked vehicle. The accused admitted to stealing clothes from Old Navy. Police found additional clothes under her vehicle, which were allegedly stolen from two other stores at the outlet.

• A 30 year-old Bristol man was issued misdemeanor summons at 10:15 a.m. for operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, and failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway.

Thursday, May 12

• A 19 year-old Old Saybrook woman was arrested at 1:18 p.m. and charged with criminal mischief in the second degree and disorderly conduct. She was processed and released after posting a $1,000 surety bond. The accused damaged a mailbox.

Friday, May 13 to Saturday, May 14

No arrests were made.

Sunday, May 15

• A 30 year-old man Westbook man was arrested at 6:19 a.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, evading responsibility in the operation of a motor vehicle (fleeing the scene of an accident), traveling unreasonably fast, operating a motor vehicle without insurance, and failure to obey a stop sign following a motor vehicle accident on Sagamore Terrace Road.

Monday, May 16 to Tuesday, May 17

No arrests were made.

Old Saybrook

Wednesday, May 11

• A 22 year-old Branford woman was arrested at 2:12 a.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and traveling unreasonably fast following a motor vehicle stop on Middlesex Turnpike near Boston Post Road.

Thursday, May 12

• A 16 year-old was arrested at 10:07 a.m. and charged with criminal mischief in the third degree and disorderly conduct. The juvenile was processed and released to parental custody.

Friday, May 13

• Two 16 year-olds were arrested at 1:34 a.m. and charged with breach of peace in the second degree. Each minor was processed and released to parental custody.

• A 22 year-old Clinton man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 9:53 p.m. for operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension, improper use of marker plate, and failure to carry insurance papers following a motor vehicle stop on Boston Post Road at Ledge Road.

Saturday, May 14

• A 64 year-old Stamford man was arrested at 10:38 p.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and failure to grant right of way at a private driveway following a motor vehicle crash.

Sunday, May 15

• A 38 year-old Stratford man was arrested at 2:31 a.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway.

• A 47 year-old man of Middletown Avenue was arrested at 3:28 p.m. and charged with assault in the third degree and disorderly conduct under the domestic violence act He was processed and released after posting a $5,000 surety bond.

Monday, May 16

No arrests were made.

• An 18 year-old man of Beaver Dam Trail was issued a citation at 10:07 p.m. for possession of alcoholic beverage by a minor in public on Schoolhouse Road.

Tuesday, May 17

• A 30 year-old Old Lyme woman was arrested at 6:52 p.m. on a warrant charging her with failure to appear in the second degree.

• Three people were issued citations at 5:11 a.m. for possession of less than one-half ounce of marijuana and use or possession of drug paraphernalia containing less than one-half ounce of marijuana. They included a 19 year-old Windsor man, a 20 year-old man of Bedford, Massachusetts, and a 19 year-old man of Merrimac, Massachusetts.
