Police Incident Report forApril 20 to 26


The Sound publishes a Police Incident Report to inform residents of incidents, criminal activities, and police responses occurring in Branford and North Branford. As those charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty, the report does not include names. It may be edited for space and content.

Branford

Wednesday, April 20

No arrests were made.

• A 32 year-old East Haven man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 7:24 a.m. for operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension, operating a motor vehicle without insurance, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, and failure to obey a control signal.

Thursday, April 21

• A 55 year-old man of a Florence Road apartment and charged with disorderly conduct and threatening in the second degree.

• A 35 year-old Killingworth man was arrested at 8:57 p.m. and charged with interfering with an officer and littering.

• A 31 year-old New Haven woman was issued a misdemeanor summons at 9:12 p.m. for operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension.

• A 28 year-old New Haven man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 11:43 a.m. for operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension.

• A 19 year-old woman of Ark Road was issued a misdemeanor summons for operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension and traveling unreasonably fast.

• A 35 year-old Hamden was issued a misdemeanor summons at 8:49 p.m. for operating a motor vehicle while under license suspension and operating an unregistered motor vehicle.

Friday, April 22

• A 49 year-old man of New York, New York was arrested at 8 p.m. and charged with criminal impersonation, interfering with an officer, larceny in the fourth degree, criminal attempt to commit larceny in the fourth degree, credit card theft, theft of identity in the third degree, and being a fugitive from justice.

Saturday, April 23

• A 78 year-old man and 73 year-old woman of the same Todds Hill Road residence were arrested at 7:35 a.m. Each party was charged with a disorderly conduction under the domestic violence act.

• A 32 woman of Totoket Road was arrested at 12:30 p.m. and charged with breach of peace. In the same incident was 35 year-old woman of a Thompson Street apartment was charged with the same.

Sunday, April 24

• A 25 year-old man of an Alps Road apartment was arrested at midnight and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway.

• A 32 year-old Hamden man was arrested at 10:35 p.m. and charged with breach of peace.

Monday, April 25 - Tuesday, April 26

No arrests were made

From April 20 to 26 Branford police also issued 23 citations to motorists for operating an unregistered motor vehicle, 11 citations for using a hand-held cell phone while driving, nine citations for traveling unreasonably fast, and three citations for failure to obey a control signal.

North Branford

Wednesday, April 20

• A 36 year-old man of Wilford Road was arrested at 6 p.m. and charge with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, possession of a controlled substance, and failure to drive right.

Thursday, April 21

• A 51 year-old North Haven man was arrested at 5 p.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and failure to drive right.

Friday, April 22 - Saturday, April 23

No arrests were made.

Sunday, April 24

No arrests were made.

• A 24 year-old Stratford man was issued a citation at 4:19 p.m. for creating a public disturbance.

• An 18 year-old Westbrook man was issued a citation at 4:21 p.m. for creating a public disturbance and possession of liquor by a minor in the public or private location other than a street or highway.

Monday, April 25

No arrests were made.

Tuesday, April 26

• A 61 year-old Woodbridge man was arrested at 10:40 p.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

• An 18 year-old East Haven man was issued a citation at 6:12 p.m. for simple trespass and operating an all terrain vehicle on fences agricultural, state owned, or municipal land without permission.

From April 20 to 26 North Branford police issued eight citations to motorists for traveling unreasonably fast and four citations for operating an unregistered motor vehicle. One citation was issued for each of the following: failure to carry insurance papers, failure to obey a stop sign, failure to renew registration, speeding, misuse of plate, violation of emissions standards, and operating a motor vehicle without a driver’s license.
