Police Incident Report for April 6 to 12


The Sound publishes a Police Incident Report to inform residents of incidents, criminal activities, and police responses occurring in Branford and North Branford. As those charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty, the report does not include names. It may be edited for space and content.

Branford

Wednesday, April 6

• A 39 year-old Clinton woman was arrested at 7:20 a.m. and charged with larceny in the first degree and forgery in the first degree.

• A 53 year-old man of Village Lane was arrested at 1 p.m. on a warrant charging him with six counts of failure to appear in the second degree.

Thursday, April 7

• A 30 year-old North Branford woman was arrested at 4:11 a.m. and charged with larceny in the sixth degree and conspiracy to commit larceny in the sixth degree.

• A 38 year-old New Haven man was arrested at 10 a.m. on a warrant charging him with criminal mischief in the first degree, criminal mischief in the third degree, criminal attempt to commit assault on a peace officer, reckless endangerment in the first degree, engaging police in pursuit, reckless driving, conspiracy to commit larceny in the sixth degree, and operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension.

• A 60 year-old man and a 35 year-old man of the same Indian Neck Avenue residence were arrested at 11:46 a.m. Each party was charged with disorderly conduct under the domestic violence act.

• A 25 year-old East Haven woman was arrested at 4:58 p.m. and charged with larceny in the sixth degree, illegal possession of narcotics, illegal possession of a controlled substance (marijuana), and use or possession of drug paraphernalia.

• A 27 year-old Wallingford woman was arrested at 4:58 p.m. and charged with illegal possession of narcotics, illegal possession of a controlled substance (marijuana), and use or possession of drug paraphernalia.

• A 41 year-old New Haven man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 6:37 p.m. for operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension.

Friday, April 8

• A 25 year-old man of Quarry Road was arrested at 1:30 p.m. and charged with violation of a protective order.

• A 34 year-old East Haven man was arrested at 9:50 p.m. and charged with larceny in the sixth degree.

• A 46 year-old New Haven man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 1:04 p.m. for operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension and operating a motor vehicle without insurance.

Saturday, April 9

• A 32 year-old man of Reynolds Lane was arrested at 1 a.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, traveling unreasonably fast, and failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway.

• A 22 year-old man of a Main Street apartment was arrested at 8:15 p.m. and charged with operating a drug factory, illegal cultivation of marijuana (any quantity), sale or possession of narcotics, use or possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of greater than four ounces of marijuana, and possession of narcotics within 1,500 feet of a school or public housing.

Sunday, April 10

• A 37 year-old Deep River woman was arrested at 2:14 p.m. and charged with forgery in the third degree and illegally obtaining prescription drugs.

• A 28 year-old man of Pepperwood Lane was arrested at 2:16 a.m. and charged with disorderly conduct and threatening in the second degree.

• A 31 year-old Guilford man was arrested at 3:37 p.m. and charged with larceny in the third degree.

Monday, April 11 - Tuesday, April 12

No arrests were made.

From April 6 to 12 Branford police issued nine citations to motorists for traveling unreasonably fast, eight citations for operating an unregistered motor vehicle, four citations for failure to obey a control signal, three citations for using a hand-held cell phone while driving, two citations for failure to obey a stop sign, and two citations for operating a motor vehicle without a driver’s license. One citation was issued for each of the following: failure to obey state traffic commission traffic signs or street marking and failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway.

North Branford

Wednesday, April 6

• A 47 year-old East Haven man was arrested at 1:24 a.m. and charged with larceny in the second degree, larceny in the sixth degree, and illegal use of a credit card.

• A 55 year-old East Haven man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 11:44 a.m. for operating a motor vehicle without insurance, misuse of plate, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, and operating a motor vehicle without insurance. He was operating a green 1998 Dodge Durango.

Thursday, April 7

No arrests were made.

Friday, April 8

• A 36 year-old woman of Ann Street was arrested at 3:30 p.m. and charged with disorderly conduct.

Saturday, April 9

No arrests were made.

• A 36 year-old woman of Caputo Road in Northford was issued a misdemeanor summons at 4:40 p.m. for speeding at over 60 miles per hour on a secondary road and operating a motor vehicle while using a hand-held cell phone. She was operating a gray 2006 Nissan Pathfinder.

• An 18 year-old man of White Hollow Road in Northford was issued a misdemeanor summons at 6:02 p.m. for reckless driving. He was operating a red 2003 Chevy Silverado pickup truck.

• A 27 year-old man of Line Street in Northford was issued a misdemeanor summons at 11:12 p.m. for speeding at over 60 miles per hour on a secondary road. He was operating a blue 2002 Acura.

No arrests were made.

Monday, April 11

No arrests were made.

• A 21 year-old man of Jay Place was issued a misdemeanor summons at 4:33 p.m. for operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, and failure to maintain a reasonable distance apart. He was operating a black 2012 Ford Focus.

Tuesday, April 12

• A 21 year-old man of a Reeds Gap Road apartment in Northford was arrested at 7:28 p.m. on a warrant charging him with failure to appear in the second degree.

From April 6 to 12 North Branford police issued six citations to motorists for operating an unregistered motor vehicle, four citations for traveling unreasonably fast, two citations for using a hand-held cell phone while driving, and two citations for failure to obey a stop sign. One citation was issued for each of the following: traveling too fast for conditions and passing in a no-passing zone.
