Police Incident Report for April 13 to 26


The North Haven Courier publishes a Police Incident Report to inform residents of incidents, criminal activities, and police responses occurring in town. As those charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty, the report does not include names. It may be edited for space and content.

Wednesday, April 13

• A 36 year-old woman of Picayune, Mississippi was arrested at 2:45 a.m. on a warrant charging her with failure to appear in the second degree.

• A 29 year-old Wallingford man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 11:05 p.m. for operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension, failure to renew registration, and failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway.

• A 37 year-old Wallingford woman was issued a misdemeanor summons at 1:06 p.m. for reckless driving.

Thursday, April 14

• A 42 year-old New Haven woman was arrested at 1 a.m. on a warrant charging her with failure to appear in the second degree. She was also issued a misdemeanor summons at 11:50 a.m. for operating a motor vehicle without insurance, and operating an unregistered motor vehicle.

• A 24 year-old New Haven woman was issued a misdemeanor summons at 10:51 a.m. for operating a motor vehicle without insurance, misuse of plate, and operating an unregistered motor vehicle.

Friday, April 15

No arrests were made.

• A 45 year-old East Haven man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 2:06 a.m. for operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension, operating a motor vehicle without insurance, theft of a number plate/insert, and operating an unregistered motor vehicle.

• A 60 year-old North Branford man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 10:34 a.m. for operating a motor vehicle without insurance, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, and misuse of plate.

Saturday, April 16

• A 28 year-old New Haven woman was arrested at 6:45 p.m. and charged with larceny in the sixth degree.

Sunday, April 17

No arrests were made.

• A 48 year-old New Haven woman was issued a misdemeanor summons at 12:57 a.m. for misuse of plate, operating a motor vehicle without insurance, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, and failure to obey a control signal.

Monday, April 18

• A 23 year-old woman of arrested at 2:45 a.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway.

• An 18 year-old Hamden man was arrested at 10:15 a.m. and charged with larceny in the third degree.

• A 47 year-old Ansonia woman was issued a misdemeanor summons at 5:47 p.m. for operating a motor vehicle while under license or suspension registration and operating an unregistered motor vehicle.

Tuesday, April 19

• A 23 year-old Brooklyn, New York man was arrested at 6:44 p.m. and charged with 25 counts of credit card counterfeiting, two counts of larceny in the fourth degree, two counts for larceny in the fifth degree, one count of larceny in the sixth degree, three counts of illegal use of a credit card, three counts of receipt of goods or services obtained illegally, three counts of identity of theft in the first degree, three counts of criminal impersonation, three counts of forgery in the third degree, one count of conspiracy, and one count of criminal attempt to commit crimes.

• A 22 year-old man of Austel, Georgia was arrested at 6:44 p.m. and charged with 25 counts for credit card counterfeiting, two counts of larceny in the fifth degree, and one count of each of the following: larceny in the fourth degree, larceny in the sixth degree, illegal use of a credit card, receipt of goods or services obtained illegally, identity theft in the first degree, criminal impersonation, forgery in the third degree, conspiracy, and criminal attempt to commit a crime.

• An 18 year-old man of Belmont Road was issued a misdemeanor summons at 11:36 a.m. for operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension.

Wednesday, April 20

• A 27 year-old Meriden man was arrested at 2 p.m. on a warrant charging him with failure to appear in the second degree.

• A 23 year-old Bristol woman was issued a citation at 1:51 p.m. for creating a public disturbance.

• A 25 year-old Meriden man was issued a citation at 1:55 p.m. for creating a public disturbance.

• A 27 year-old Meriden man was issued a citation at 2:01 p.m. for creating a public disturbance.

• A 29 year-old Meriden woman was issued a citation at 2:04 p.m. for creating a public disturbance.

Thursday, April 21

• A 33 year-old woman of Victor Road was arrested at 1:55 a.m. and charged with interfering with a 911 emergency call.

Friday, April 22

No arrests were made.

• A 48 year-old Waterbury man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 9:26 a.m. for operating a motor vehicle without insurance, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, and improper license classification for vehicle driven.

• A 37 year-old Deep River man was issued a citation at 11:23 p.m. for creating a public disturbance.

Saturday, April 23

No arrests were made.

Sunday, April 24

• A 36 year-old New Haven man was arrested at 5:14 p.m. and charged with larceny in the sixth degree and risk of injury to a minor.

• A 26 year-old of New Hampshire man was arrested at 6:55 p.m. and charged with illegal possession.

• A 26 year-old man of undetermined address was issued a misdemeanor summons at 8:42 a.m. for operating a motor vehicle without insurance, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, and misuse of plate.

• A 46 New Haven woman was issued a misdemeanor summons at 5:15 p.m. for operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension.

Monday, April 25

No arrests were made.

• A 26 year-old New Haven woman was issued a misdemeanor summons at 9:15 a.m. for operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension, operating a motor vehicle without a driver’s license, and operating an unregistered motor vehicle.

• A 44 year-old Branford woman was issued a misdemeanor summons at 10:34 a.m. for operating a motor vehicle without insurance and operating an unregistered motor vehicle.

• A 35 year-old Watertown man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 11:07 a.m. for misuse of plate, operating a motor vehicle without insurance, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, and operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension.

• A 25 year-old New Haven woman was issued a misdemeanor summons at 6:07 p.m. for operating a motor vehicle while without insurance, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, and using a hand-held cell phone while driving.

Tuesday, April 26

No arrests were made.

From April 13 to 26, North Haven police issued 49 citations to motorists to using a hand-held cell phone while driving, 16 citations for operating an unregistered motor vehicle, 18 citations for traveling unreasonably fast, seven citations for failure to wear a seat belt in the front seat, six citations for operating a motor vehicle without a driver’s license, two citations for failure to obey a stop sign, two citations for failure to grant right of way, two citations for failure to drive a reasonable distance apart, one citation for failure to renew registration, one citation for failure to obey a control signal, and one citation for passing on the right.
