Police Incident Report March 23 to 29


The Harbor News publishes a Police Incident Report to inform residents of incidents, criminal activities, and police responses occurring in the towns of Clinton, Westbrook, and Old Saybrook. As those charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty, the report does not include names. It may be edited for space and content.

Clinton

Wednesday, March 23

• A 33 year-old Chester man was arrested at 1:52 a.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, reckless driving, interfering with an officer, evading responsibility in the operation of a motor vehicle (fleeing the scene of an accident), failure to obey a stop sign, disobeying the signal of an officer, failure to keep right on a hill or curve, and speeding following a motor vehicle stop on Causeway at Groveway.

• A 25 year-old man of Deer Run Road was arrested at 9:13 p.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and operating an all-terrain vehicle without a valid registration following a motor vehicle stop on Ark Road.

• A 26 year-old Westbrook man was arrested at 10:49 p.m. and charged with breach of peace following a dispute on Mallard Lane.

• A larceny was investigated on East Main Street at 10:52 a.m.

• Criminal mischief was investigated on Kelsey Road at 2:22 p.m.

Thursday, March 24

No arrests were made.

Friday, March 25

No arrests were made.

• A neighbor dispute was investigated on Commerce Street at 4:04 p.m.

• A noise complaint was investigated on Marine Avenue at 10:13 p.m.

Saturday, March 26

• A 28 year-old man of a Waterside Lane apartment was arrested at 7:57 p.m. and charged with criminal violation of a protective order. In the same incident a 31 year-old man of the same residence was charged with the same.

• A 43 year-old Westbrook man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 7:27 p.m. for operating a motor vehicle while under license and registration suspension, failure to grant right of way at an intersection, and failure to obey a control signal following a motor vehicle on High Street.

Sunday, March 27

No arrests were made.

• Criminal mischief was investigated on Willow Lane and several locations on Jefferson Circle.

Monday, March 28

• A 15 year-old was arrested at 4:39 p.m. and charged with disorderly conduct, assault in the second degree, reckless endangerment in the first degree, assault in the third degree, and three counts of risk of injury to a minor.

• A domestic dispute was investigated on Ninety Rod Road at 8:35 a.m.

• A complaint about identity theft on College Street at 12:43 p.m.

• A complaint about identity theft on Shore Road at 1:19 p.m.

Tuesday, March 29

• A 24 year-old Bridgeport man was arrested at 8:05 a.m. on a warrant charging him with failure to appear in the first degree.

• A 42 year-old woman of Allen Road was arrested at 10:36 p.m. and charged with illegal possession of narcotics and use or possession of drug paraphernalia.

• A 22 year-old man of Allen Road was issued a misdemeanor summons at 9:45 p.m. for operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension and failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway following a motor vehicle stop on East Main Street at Canterbury Lane.

• Criminal mischief was investigated on Long Hill Road at 11:12 a.m.

Westbrook

Wednesday, March 23

No arrests were made.

• A 43 year-old Clinton man was arrested at 2:04 p.m. on a warrant charging him with interfering with an officer (non-assaulted).

Thursday, March 24

No arrests were made.

• A 39 year-old woman of Maple Lead Drive was issued a citation at 3:21 p.m. for failure to maintain the proper distance apart after the 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee she was operating westbound on Boston Post Road struck the rear of a 2007 Toyota Camry operated by a 34 year-old Guilford woman.

Old Saybrook

Wednesday, March 23

No arrests were made.

• A 24 year-old Niantic man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 5:20 p.m. operating a motor vehicle while under license or registration suspension, evading responsibility in the operation of a motor vehicle (fleeing of an accident), operating an unregistered motor vehicle, operating a motor vehicle without insurance, traveling unreasonably fast, and failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway following a motor vehicle stop on Schoolhouse Road at Fawn Trail.

Thursday, March 24

No arrests were made.

• A 41 year-old man of Old Rock Road was issued a citation at 5:41 p.m. for possession of less than ½ ounce of marijuana and use or possession of drug paraphernalia following a motor vehicle stop on Old Boston Post Road at Lynde Street for a broken tail lamp.

Friday, March 25

• A 37 year-old Norwalk man was arrested at 11:03 p.m. and charged with interfering with an officer.

• A 34 year-old Wallingford man was issued a citation at 7:59 p.m. for operating an unregistered motor vehicle, possession of drug paraphernalia containing less than ½ ounce of marijuana.

Saturday, March 26

• A 30 year-old Mansfield woman was arrested at 12:38 p.m. and charged on a warrant for unspecified charges and turned over to the authority that held the warrant.

Sunday, March 27

• An 18 year-old Killingworth woman was arrested at 6:26 p.m. and charged with breach of peace in the second degree under the domestic violence act.

• A 40 year-old New Haven man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 2:18 a.m. for operating a motor vehicle without a driver’s license and failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway following a motor vehicle stop on Spencer Plain Road in front of the Super 8 motel.

Monday, March 28 - Tuesday, March 29

No arrests were made.

From March 23 to 29 Old Saybrook police issued four citations to motorist for operating an unregistered motor vehicle, one citation for failure to obey a stop sign, and one citation for failure to have tail lamps.
