Police Incident Report for March 24 to 30


The Guilford Courier publishes a Police Incident Report to inform residents of incidents, criminal activities, and police responses occurring in town. As those charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty, the report does not include names. It may be edited for space and content.

Thursday, March 24

No arrests were made.

• A complaint about credit card fraud was investigated at 9 Pheasant Run at 10:17 a.m.

• A complaint about credit card fraud was investigated at 29 Horseshoe Road at 8:48 p.m. An unauthorized person placed himself as a manager on the complainant’s credit card and had an additional card issued in his name. No charges were made to the new card before the complaint discovered the breach when an email was received verifying the change of a phone number on the account. The credit card company canceled both the legitimate and fraudulent cards and issued a new card to the rightful owner of the account.

• A report of three youths throwing rocks was investigated at the Guilford High School at 11:26 p.m. One the youths was wearing a red jacket and another was wearing a blue jacket.

Friday, March 25

• A 33 year-old Stratford woman was arrested at 8:49 a.m. and charged with burglary in the third degree, larceny in the third degree, conspiracy to commit burglary in the third degree, and conspiracy to commit larceny in the third degree.

• A complaint about harassment was investigated at 291 Northwood Drive at 4:15 p.m. The complainant received a threat via text message from an unknown subject.

• The report of a male hanging out of a vehicle was investigated on Farmers Wharf Road at 7:54 p.m.

• A breach of peace incident was investigated on Goose Lane at 9:36 p.m.

Saturday, March 26

No arrests were made.

• A complaint about identity fraud involving a false IRS filing was investigated at 43 Park Street at 9:28 a.m.

• A theft was investigated at 301 Boston Post Road at 10:57 a.m.

• A complaint about identity fraud was investigated at 20 Cambridge Way at 12:41 p.m.

• A noise complaint was investigated at 21 Boston Street at 1:22 p.m. A food truck at the south end of the Green was operating an extremely loud generator.

• Criminal mischief was investigated at Guilford High School at 5:31 p.m.

• A breach of peace incident was investigated at 301 State Street at 7:57 p.m. The issue was between a resident and a homeless man.

Sunday, March 27

• A 21 year-old New Haven woman was arrested at 1:28 a.m. and charged with violation on conditions of release.

• A 58 year-old woman of Meadow Hills Road was arrested at 5:04 p.m. and charged with assault in the third degree and disorderly conduct.

• A 35 year-old man of Flushing, New York was arrested at 7:22 p.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and evading responsibility in the operation of a motor vehicle (fleeing the scene of an accident).

Monday, March 28

No arrests were made.

• Harassment was investigated on the 300 block of Race Hill Road involving an ex-boyfriend.

Tuesday, March 29

No arrests were made.

• Harassment was investigated on the 300 block of State Street at 2:51 p.m. The complainant believed he was being followed.

• A breach of peace incident was investigated on Church Street at 5:39 p.m. A white male with a beard was walking on Church Street swearing and using threatening gestures.

Wednesday, March 30

No arrested were made.

• Threatening was investigated on Sawpit Road at 2:20 a.m. The incident was a verbal argument between roommates.

• A goose with a broken leg was reported on the 800 block of Boston Post Road at 9:45 a.m.

During the week of March 24 to 30, Guilford Police received 142 calls for service. Police made five arrests, investigated nine motor vehicle accidents, and issued seven citations, 137 written warnings, three verbal warnings, and two parking tags. Police also responded to nine false burglar alarms. A total of 345 incidents were handled by police.
