Guilford Police Incident Report for Aug. 24 to 26


Monday, Aug. 24

• A 35 year-old New Haven man was arrested at 9:26 p.m. and charged with forgery in the third degree, forgery of symbols, and larceny in the fourth degree.

• A dumping violation was investigated on Town Hall property, 31 Park Street, at 2:06 p.m. Paint cans were left.

Tuesday, Aug. 25

• A 50 year-old Madison man was arrested at 7:27 p.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and failure to drive upon the right.

Wednesday, Aug. 26

No arrests were made.

• A suspicious person report was investigated on the 1700 block of Boston Post Road at 7:43 a.m. Three males were walking westbound carrying an Arabic flag. The men were wearing bandanas and backpacks.

• At 11:36 a.m. the animal control officer investigated a report of an injured duck under the bushes at 432 Whitfield Street.

• A theft of rocks from a renovation project at 226 White Birch Drive was investigated at 3:32 p.m.

During the week of August 20 to 26 Guilford Police received 185 calls for service. Police made three arrests, investigated 23 motor vehicle accidents, and issued seven citations, 189 written warnings, five verbal warnings, and four parking tags. Police also responded to 13 false burglar alarms. A total of 452 incidents were handled by police.
