Essex Police Incident Report for June 24 to 30


Wednesday, June 24

No arrests were made.

• A 95 year-old woman of Essex Meadows was issued a written warning at 10:39 a.m. for failure to drive a reasonable distance apart after the 2005 Buick Lacrosse she was operating eastbound on West Avenue struck a 2011 Chevy Silverado that was partially parked on the shoulder of the roadway. No injuries were reported at the scene as a result of the crash.

Thursday, June 25 - Friday, June 26

No arrests were made.

Saturday, June 27

• A 28 year-old Wyoming man was arrested at 1:01 a.m. and charged with interfering with an officer (non-assaultive) and failure of a pedestrian to grant right of way to an emergency vehicle.

• At 12:31 a.m. police reported that a 16 year-old boy of Waterside Lane was a passenger in a 2008 Ford Focus being driven northbound on Main Street when the unidentified operator lost control of the vehicle and struck a tree. The operator was freed from the vehicle and transported to Middle Hospital Shoreline Clinic in Westbrook. The 16 year-old passenger was also transported to the clinic for evaluation. No enforcement action was indicated in the police report.

Tuesday, June 30

• An 18 year-old woman of South Main Street was arrested at 9:44 p.m. and charged with criminal mischief in the third degree, disorderly conduct, and violation of a protective order. She was processed and held in lieu of a $5,000 surety bond.
