Guilford Police Incident Report for April 5 to 8


Monday, April 6

No arrests were made.

• Theft of items from a motor vehicle was investigated at 78 Riverview Drive at 11:45 a.m.

• A theft of items from a vehicle parked near Big Y was investigated at 4:33 p.m.

• At 5:58 p.m. caller reported that a boater appeared to be stuck in the ice on Lake Quonnipaug near the boat launch. Police determined that the boater was not in distress; he was just clearing ice.

Tuesday, April 7

• A 26 year-old man of Maplecreast Drive was arrested at 9:45 a.m. and charged with illegal possession of child pornography in the third degree. He was processed on a $25,000 surety bond.

• A 32 year-old Bridgeport man was arrested at 10:11 p.m. and charged with violation of a protective order and disorderly conduct.

• A fraud complaint involving use of a credit card was investigated at 68 Water Street at 11:06 a.m.

Wednesday, April 8

No arrests were made.

• A fraud complaint involving wired money and misrepresentation of the IRS was investigated at 83 Horseshoe Road at 4:09 p.m.

• A fraud complaint involving a debit card was investigated at 30 Mohawk Trail at 4:48 p.m.

• A fraud complaint involving a false IRS filing was investigated at 30 Hungry Hill Circle at 5:25 p.m.

During the week of April 2 to 8 Guilford Police received 138 calls for service. Police made two arrests, investigated six motor vehicle accidents, and issued eight citations, 48 written warnings, eight verbal warnings, and one parking tag. Police also responded to two eight burglar alarms. A total of 246 incidents were handled by police.
