• A 49 year-old Meriden man was arrested at 8:34 p.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, evading responsibility in the operation of a motor vehicle, and failure to obey a stop sign. The accused crash the vehicle he was operating on Montowese Avenue near Cloudland Road. Witnesses reported that the driver fled the area on foot and provided police with a description of the suspect.　A short time later the suspect was located walking near the intersection of Montowese Avenue and Quinnipiac Avenue. Once detained, a witness of the crash was able to positively identify the accused as the operator. Police praised the public for the assistance they received in this case, making arrest possible.
