Guilford Police Incident Report for June 8 to 10


The Guilford Courier publishes a Police Incident Report to inform residents of incidents, criminal activities, and police responses occurring in town. As those charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty, the report does not include names. It may be edited for space and content.

Sunday, June 8

• A 36 year-old Branford woman was arrested at 5:32 p.m. and charged with larceny in the sixth degree and conspiracy to commit larceny in the sixth degree.

• A breach of peace incident was investigated on Seaside Avenue at 7:59 a.m. A female resident of Saddlebrook Path confronted a construction crew.

• Suspicious activity was investigated at 171 Woodland Road at 11:43 p.m. Homeowner reported hearing someone in the back yard. Area was check and nothing was found.

Monday, June 9

No arrests were made.

• A male transient was reported in front the church located at 33 Whitefield Street at 9:53 a.m.

• A snapping turtle was reported in the roadway near 74 Flat Meadow Road. The turtle was moved to a nearby river.

Tuesday, June 10

No arrests were made.

• Suspicious activity was investigated at 20 Hoyt Lane at 10:14 p.m. The doorbell rang two to three times. Police checked the area and nothing was found.

Wednesday, June 11

• A 43 year-old North Branford man was arrested at 3:02 p.m. and charged with breach of peace in the second degree, two counts of threatening in the second degree, two counts of assault in the third degree, and two counts of risk of injury.

• A 27 year-old man of Coventry Way was arrested at 8:06 p.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, possession of narcotics, use or possession of drug paraphernalia, failure to have insurance, failure to signal a turn, and failure to use a seat belt in the front seat.

• A 46 year-old man of Edgewood Drive was arrested at 10:56 p.m. and charged with disorderly conduct, risk of injury to a minor, and threatening in the second degree.

• Suspicious activity was investigated on the upper 100 block of Schoolside Lane at 2:27 p.m. An 18 year-old man with red hair and dressed in all black was reportedly smoking “a bowl” and shaking, while sitting on a skateboard in the area. No other details of the incident were provided by police.

From June 5 to 11 Guilford Police received 183 calls for service. Police made seven arrests, investigated nine motor vehicle accidents, and issued four citations, 20 written warnings, no verbal warnings, and no parking tags. Police also responded to 13 false burglar alarms. A total of 259 incidents were handled by police.
