East Haven Police Incident Report for Dec. 28 and 29


The East Haven Courier publishes a Police Incident Report to inform residents of incidents, criminal activities, and police responses occurring in town. As those charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty, the report does not include names. It may be edited for space and content.

Saturday, Dec. 28

• A 35 year-old New Haven woman was arrested at 8:40 p.m. and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, risk of injury to a minor, interfering with an officer, failure to drive right, and operating a motor vehicle without a driver’s license following a motor vehicle stop on Summit Road.

• At 12:22 a.m. police responded to a report of gun shots at Barra’s Café located at 679 Main Street. The preliminary investigation indicated that a physical alteration took place inside the establishment between two men and a second altercation followed in the rear parking lot. Several shell casings were found in the rear lot along with a small amount of blood. There were no victims or suspects located at the scene. Area hospitals were contacted with negative results. Sunday, Dec. 29

• A 30 year-old man of a Silver Sands Road apartment was arrested 12:16 a.m. and charged with risk of injury to a minor, disorderly conduct, and threatening in the second degree. He was processed on a $25,000 bond amount.

• A 24 year-old man of Sorrento Avenue was arrested at 3:55 a.m. and charged with criminal violation of a protective order. He was processed on a $5,000 bond amount.

• A 35 year-old West Haven man was issued a misdemeanor summons at 5:25 a.m. for evading responsibility in the operation of a motor vehicle (fleeing the scene of an accident). He was processed on a $2,500 bond amount.
