Old Saybrook High School (OSHS) students gathered for photos for their upcoming musical, Thoroughly Modern Millie, under the direction of OSHS Drama Advisor and Director, Lenore Grunko. The show opens Thursday, March 12, and runs through Saturday March 14th with evening shows starting at 7:30pm  and a Saturday matin‡©e at 2pm. OSHS Presents ‘Thoroughly Modern Millie’

The Old Saybrook Fire Department's Junior Division hosted a pancake breakfast Sunday, February 17th, at the fire headquarters in Old Saybrook. The pancake breakfast featured eggs, sausage, bacon, toast, coffee, tea and juice. Funds raised from the breakfasts assist the OSFD's Junior Division, a high-school age unit of the fire department. Tours of headquarters and the firefighting equipment were available upon request by Junior Division.

The next Sunday pancake breakfasts are March 1, and March 15th.   The breakfasts will be held at Old Saybrook Fire Department headquarters, located at the intersection of Main St and Old Boston Post Rd.


The OSFD's Junior Division is an outstanding program for those ages 15 to 17 years old. The Junior division is currently recruiting for additional Junior firefighters interested in joining their ranks. For more information visit www.oldsaybrookfire.com.

Old Saybrook Rotary ClubþÄôs Wine and Beer and Silent Auction Fundraiser took place at the Saybrook Point Inn on Friday, February 7, 2020. Beer and wines were provided by Seaside Wine & Spirits. The Laid Back Jazz Trio played live music during the event. There was also a raffle. Proceeds went to the Old Saybrook Rotary Club which provides college scholarships and supports the community and international projects. Bob Donlin (Allan S. The Old Saybrook Torchlight Parade marched down Main Street Saturday December 14th . The parade featured over 20 fife and drum corps as well as many local businesses, community, municipal and civic organizations.  Parade volunteers carried torches to light the way.

The Acton Library hosts the Treehouse Players: a children's theatre adventure on Thursday afternoons.

Lead by Amy Forbes, she guides kids as they explore the world of a story through dramatic play using theater games, improvisation to create dialogue, action, song and movement. 
This free program is open to children in Grades 2 þÄì 4.
This program is sponsored by the Friends of Acton Library.
