Jeffrey Nicholas Nuzzo

Jeffrey Nicholas Nuzzo of Madison passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his beloved mother and brother on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, following a valiant battle with cancer. Jeffrey was 45 years old. He was born in New Haven on May 23, 1978, to Bonnie (Conroy) Nuzzo and the late Peter Nuzzo.

Growing up in Madison, Jeffrey graduated from Daniel Hand High School in 1996. Following high school, Jeffrey attended The University of Connecticut and Southern Connecticut State University. Jeffrey had an eclectic range of hobbies and interests. He loved music, especially Primus and Phish, a group he followed around the country. He was a movie aficionado, especially of horror movies and science fiction movies, including the Alien, Nightmare on Elm Street, Star Wars, Marvel, and Lord of the Rings franchises. He enjoyed watching sports and was an ardent fan of Giants football, Yankee baseball, Michigan football, and UConn basketball. He also enjoyed comic books and gaming.

Jeffrey was good-natured, kind, and had a big heart, as evidenced by his love of animals and his years of service at a nursing home. Articulate, funny, and possessing an intelligence he didn’t give himself credit for, Jeffrey had unlimited potential. Unfortunately, a medical diagnosis halted what could have been. In his final battle with cancer, Jeffrey never complained or felt sorry for himself. Instead, his only concern was the impact it had on his family. He was a fighter and warrior to the end.

Jeffrey is survived by his loving and caring mother, Bonnie Nuzzo of Madison, as well as his brother and sister-in-law, Chris and Catherine (Shortell) Nuzzo of Guilford; his godparents, Arthur Conroy and Judith (Kulack) of Madison; and a host of loving relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his father, Peter Nuzzo, and both of his grandmothers, Ruth Conroy and Mary Nuzzo Valentine.

Jeffrey’s family will receive relatives and friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 1, in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main Street Ext. Interment will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Association in memory of Jeffrey.
