Richard P. Curran

Richard P. “Dick” Curran, of Madison, passed away on March 17, 2024. He was born on May 20, 1933. He was a long-time resident of Milford and Madison. Dick was a man of strong character who valued his family and friends as the riches of his life.

His strong faith supported him throughout life’s challenges. His love of St. Margaret Church and all the friends he enjoyed there gave him the opportunity to become a Eucharistic minister and participate in many other duties at the Parish. Upon an honorable discharge from the U.S. Navy, he began his career with I.B.M. and eventually joined the 3-M Company. In 1984, Dick formed his own company, Curran Associates, a motivational and sales management training organization. He served on the faculty at the Center for Financial Studies at Fairfield University and was a lecturer at the Institute of Financial Education in Chicago. The highlight of his career was his election into the National Speakers Bureau.

He leaves his two sons, Peter (Branford) and partner Barbara, and Steve (Winchester, Massachusetts) and wife Kerry, and their children Brendan, Andrew, and Kaylee. Dick was predeceased by his loving wife, Audrey Gaughran Curran.

Friends and family may attend his funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, March 22, at St. Margaret Church in Madison. There will be no calling hours, and the burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, Dick requested that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Arrangements are with the Hawley Lincoln Memorial, Guilford.
