02/15/2024 11:38 AMRichard “Rick” Mancuso, 65, of Madison, passed away on Feb. 11, 2024, after a courageous battle with multiple myeloma. Born on April 16, 1958, in Waterbury, Rick was the son of the late Carmen Sr. and Ida (Vitarelli) Mancuso.
Rick had an absolutely amazing sense of humor, was a master of entertaining friends and family, and loved to have his friends and family around him. Rick was an optimistic observer of life, finding joy in every moment and always looking at the glass half full, with a glass of red wine in hand, and the saying, “. . . . If God could take me now,” with a smile on his face. Rick excelled in his career and was a born salesman extraordinaire, achieving success at numerous firms within the electronics and aviation manufacturing business.
Rick leaves behind his beloved spouse of 40 years, Ellen Nixon; their children, Nick (spouse Lisa Detweiler), Natalie (spouse Jay Martin), Samantha (partner Vincent Ybanez), and Tom. He was a proud grandfather to Anthony and Gia Martin. Rick is also survived by his brother Carmen Mancuso Jr., sister Christine (spouse Gene Shugrue), as well as many nieces, nephews, and grand nieces and nephews. Rick’s warm presence, humor, and love for those around him will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Rick’s family would like to thank the entire multiple myeloma treatment team at Massachusetts General Hospital. In lieu of flowers, if you feel moved, please consider donating to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation, themmrf.org.
A Celebration of Life will be held June 15, in Madison, with all family and friends welcomed with open arms.
