Lynn Johnson Evans

Lynn Johnson Evans, 85, of Chester, died peacefully on Feb. 3, 2024, surrounded by loved ones. She is survived by her two children, Thomas (Jeannine) of Needham, Massachusetts; Mark (Maureen) of Deep River; and beloved grandchildren, Tommy, Jack, Teague, and Braden. She is also survived by sister-in-law Marian (Johnson), nephew David, and nieces Darby and Amy, as well as their children. Lynn was preceded in death by her father, Benjamin Johnson; her mother, Ruth Johnson; and her brother, Tony Johnson.

Lynn grew up in Williamsville, New York, where she graduated from Williamsville High School in 1956. She spent her summers at her family’s home in Point Abino Bay, Canada. She then went on to attend Colby Sawyer College in New Hampshire. After college, she married and moved to New York City, where she raised her two children until they moved to Old Lyme. Lynn was a legacy member of the Old Lyme Beach Club, where she spent many wonderful years with family and friends.

After moving to Chester in 1980, she worked as a buyer at Enniskery West, a beautifully curated Irish clothing boutique in Niantic. Lynn was an avid collector of art, antiques, and fashion. Lynn’s love of the finer things in life was only eclipsed by her love of animals and family.

Services and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Middlesex Hospital Hospice.
