Kathleen A. Leary

Kathleen “Kay” A Leary, 87, of Old Saybrook, died peacefully on Jan. 20, 2024, at Middlesex Hospital after a lengthy illness. Born in New Haven, the daughter of the late Edward J Leary Sr. and Helen Ann (Hebert) Leary, Kay worked for many years as a clerk for the telephone company. She carried forward her mother’s love of arts and crafts and was always crocheting or knitting. She had a special place in her heart for her dogs.

Holly will miss Kay, who reunites with Fritz, Timmy, Tiffany, and Tinkerbell. She was predeceased by her brother, Edward Leary Jr., and her sister, Mary Davies. Her nieces, nephews, and friends will greatly miss her and her lovely sense of humor.

A memorial service was held on Feb. 2 in the Peter H. Torello & Son Funeral Home, Hamden, followed by interment in All Saints cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Cure Alzheimer’s Fund.
