02/08/2024 12:18 PMDonald F. Hayden, 83, of North Haven, passed away peacefully on Feb. 4, 2024, at Hartford Hospital with his family by his side. Born in Worcester, Massachusetts, on April 18, 1940, he was the son of the late Albert P. and Mary Brown Hayden.
Donald earned a bachelor’s degree from Kent State University. He served his country faithfully in the U.S. Navy. Donald worked as an accountant for Branson Sonic Power of Danbury for over 10 years and later was the owner and operator of Don Hayden Painting for many years. He enjoyed his frequent trips to the casino and loved fishing.
He was the father of Steven Hayden (Tricia), Daniel Hayden (Amanda), and Jennifer Garnett (Kevin); grandfather of Tyler, Thomas, Daniel, Christopher, Brianna, Joshua, Alivia, Jesse, and Abigail; great-grandfather of Audrina; brother of Robert Hayden (Lucy) and the late Virginia Mack, Albert and Charles Hayden.
The visiting hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 8, at The Havens Family, North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. A Catholic parlor service will be conducted at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101-9929.
