01/04/2024 01:19 PMCatherine “Kit” (Ottavio) Nelli passed away peacefully on Dec. 26, 2023, surrounded by family and loved ones.
She was born Nov. 3, 1932, in Amsterdam, New York, and lived in Madison since 1978. She married in 1956 and is predeceased by her husband, Joseph Nelli.
She retired in 1996 after a long career at New York State’s Department of Public Health and Yale School of Medicine.
She enjoyed and freely shared her knowledge of gardening, culinary skills, and life wisdom with others. She was loved deeply by family, friends, and dogs.
She had a zest for life and warm affection for everyone she met. She will be greatly missed.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her honor to Connecticut Hospice (Branford) or a charity of your choice.
